Nice driving! These cars are so much fun on some backroads.

Finally! Some real driving on this car sub.
I love doing the same with my 2019 performance. It’s such a fun car to take into the canyons. Great video.

Love taking my m3p through the canyons. What phone holder is that?

That looks like a sweet road. I'd bomb that in my LR AWD if I was near there.
On a side note though, I really wish there were a way we could "unlock" some of the performance screens/options even if we don't have a performance. Could be nice seeing track times, tire temps, and modifying traction control & AWD bias too.

Best position for it IMO. Not a fan of the ones that attach to the screen as I sit pretty low and have short arms.

If you have the 980 rear motor you can buy the ingenext ghost or teslogic pro to get a hacked version of track mode that lets you adjust all that stuff.

North Carolina? I had some great fun in my 2020 M3P on several roads there over a 10 day period - awesome!

I truly do love driving the shit out of this car, and that’s coming from the batshit world of electric motorcycles to compromising on a car that could still give me the same 0-60
It’s hard to conceptualize that it’s now 4 tons and not 400lbs. I only have the dual motor long range with acceleration boost so I didn’t know what track mode looked like.

OH Nice.. Thanks for that.
Now to google how to know if I have the 980 rear motor.

I recognize the area, been awhile since I’ve driven highway 9. If you haven’t already, check out Moody Rd. it’s the only place that I, as the driver, made myself car sick.

Sick! I love running canyons here in California with my friends. 2024 M3P for me, car handles really well on them even nearly stock.

Curious, how hard are you pushing the car, looking at the g force graph you pull more cornering g’s? I got a pretty cheap 2020 m30 as well no fsd though, and I feel it’s way too fast for road use. I have not even touched anything performance oriented yet and where in my old car I hit 150-160kph when I knew noone is coming, with my tesla I got to 200 on an exploration run, I don’t even wanna know what it could do proper flat out.
The car says I’m pulling .8-.9 gs in a corner and 1-1.1 gs acceleration and 1-1.2 gs deceleration peak. Curious what you do because this is way too fast for public roads.
Fyi, remove or fold the lower rear seat cushion when going out for a run, you can hear the inverter work way more. I personally love hearing it whine when pushing it.

Pretty hard for the street at 7/10ths, but I wouldn't do the same thing in a stock car. First thing you need is wider grippier tires and second is a better suspension.
I get same accel g's as you, but get 1.3-1.4 in corners and braking. The high power just means you need a little more throttle discipline, can't go flat out all the time.
The rear seat delete was the first thing I did!

Didn't know for sure at the time, but had a good idea of where traffic was and wasn't based on the scout run prior to this fast run.

70% regen in track mode, which is about equivalent to regen outside of track mode.
