Illuminated door sills look gorgeous and help to complete the interior look

Suvi2k | 2026-02-26 13:23 | 92 views

I recently installed aftermarket illuminated door sills and they turned out really great. This was an aesthetic feature I had on previous ice cars and I wanted for my model 3. Install was very easy by just using YouTube videos and the end product looks very good imo. Fitment is perfect on the highland. Let me know what you think.

Been waiting for OEM ones for highland but this looks nice. Where from?

Suvi2k 2026-02-26 13:49

Thanks. I got these from Ali express months ago but they finally arrived recently. I think you will be able to get the same thing from more known sellers like Hansshow, tessery etc also.

These are on my list, looks great!

Suvi2k 2026-02-26 15:52

Thanks!

Same. I’d buy OEM

Oh, you've got a Model 3 Model 3

Suvi2k 2026-02-26 17:24

Tesla doesn’t offer an oem solution for the highland yet. That said, it’s your choice if you want to save some money or not, if they ever do become available. Absolutely has no impact to warranty and works exactly the same as after market. Probably made in the same factory in china too. These that I have look amazing and much better than the original sills which came with my Tesla in terms of finish alone. (I had choices between matte, brushed, satin, etc)

Suvi2k 2026-02-26 18:16

Ha, yea I wish there was an inner protector that just said Tesla but the product I have was really good quality and had great fitment so I left it alone. Possibly could consider covering them with something that’s custom and perfectly sized down the line though. 🤷

a name link for the 2023 Light set anywhere?

Suvi2k 2026-02-26 19:02

Unfortunately Ali express links don’t work here. But I found what looks to be exactly the same. Try Tessery and Hansshow

tempting_the_gods 2026-02-26 19:09

I’ll check them out. Thanks!

> Tessery and Hansshow k thanks!

Nice, are these battery operated or wired?

Suvi2k 2026-02-26 21:49

There’s no way to wire these without drilling in the car. They work the same as the sills Tesla offers which is with batteries. Very easy to remove and replace whenever that day comes. Some people are reporting many years. I suspect the drivers side may be sooner.

d8_thc 2026-02-27 01:01

Nice!

jchin913 2026-02-27 06:58

Holly Molly no hate here but your car is literally too much red at this point lol. Looks sick but sheeeesh it’s too much for my eyes

RhetoricalPassenger 2026-02-27 18:41

I have the same inner protector. Model 3 printed part is just a sticker. You can remove it. I removed it before installing.

Suvi2k 2026-02-27 19:05

Oh cool, didn’t realize. I’ll check if mine is indeed the same and I can do that too.

Spankyatrics 2026-02-27 19:48

These look great but it’s easy to have issues depending where your door sits on the body.

Suvi2k 2026-02-27 19:54

Thanks. You are right but I find the issue lies more with the lower edge of the door opposed to the lower edge of the inner door that meets the sill space more inside the car. One of my doors is slightly mis aligned(planning to fix soon) but it hasn’t caused any issues with the sills functionality.

Spankyatrics 2026-02-27 21:34

Are you aligning yourself or having Tesla do it.

Suvi2k 2026-02-27 21:35

I should be able to do it by myself with a door alignment tool but if I can’t I’ll reach out to Tesla as it should be within warranty.

Suvi2k 2026-02-28 02:48

Haha that’s fair. It’s my second red car because I didn’t get enough time with the first and the ultra red really spoke to me. I’m a sucker for black and red interiors in any car. If Tesla offered red interiors I would have probably went with a different paint but probably still stuck with the red lighting hah

jchin913 2026-02-28 03:57

Nah bro you do you! It’s your car and you should be happy with it! Any cool mods you recommend so far?

Suvi2k 2026-02-28 04:24

Where do I start lol, this is my first Tesla and I’m blown away by the aftermarket support it has. I would recommend mods based on priority in this order -> protection, functionality, aesthetics but that could just be me. I’ve shared some other content with things I found useful and would likely recommend anything I’ve done, if you care to check.

jchin913 2026-02-28 06:43

I’ve been looking for a nice alcantara steering wheel but the process of removing and installing kinda kept me away haha. The original is fine but I like it more beefy and grip if that makes sense

FingersPalmc8ck 2026-02-28 18:56

Agreed. Just because AliExpress sell it, doesnt mean you have to buy it all.

jchin913 2026-02-28 19:00

Let him cook tho haha

FingersPalmc8ck 2026-02-28 19:05

Fair one, it’s OP’s car. OP, just keep your windows up if you’re ever driving around certain parts of Amsterdam.

Zebraitis 2026-03-02 15:06

Was the delay due to tarrifs? How much did you need to pay to clear it through customs?
