S3XY Stalk + Commander install went smooth…works great with LED dash strip too

Idk what the price point is but Tesla will install a new wheel and the left stalk for $600. Very tempting on my 2024. The buttons are irritating especially switching between our 23 and 24.

Tesla wants $600 for the stalk installed alone in the USA. It’s advertised right through their app. This cost $400(DIY) so I did it because you get so much more functionality. I don’t regret it at all. I just think enhance’s prices don’t make any sense for these though. Not sure how you are getting a new steering wheel and stalks installed for 600$ but I never asked them so I don’t know.

With the S3Xy commander alone I moved that functionality to the right scroll wheel. When car isn’t moving, foot is on brake, you can scroll up for drive and down for reverse. You can press the button for park. I agree with your sentiment but prefer the screen over a right stalk for that functionality alone. The scroll wheel is perfect. 👌

Oh you’re right, I never read the details. Just the initial page. Not sure why you would need a new steering wheel to just add a turn stalk but maybe teslas parts are such that these pieces to work together and need to be replaced. Most people just need/want a stalk.

You can set the brightness to much lower. It’s not annoying at all imo and way better than having a tiny little arrow show up on the screen. Today I learned with S3XY commander, you dont even need the strip and can use the factory ambient lighting for all this functionality. I’m using a mix of both now and it looks really good.

Gets rid of the turn signal buttons on the wheel. They don’t change out just the buttons.

where did you get your footwell lighting kit?? i've been looking for some recently!

This is why Tesla owners get a bad rap smh. Why? WTH is this? If I dont see some type of build off the Cyber Truck…Cyber Van or Cyber SUV Im out!!!! When I bought the Model S in 2013 the car was cool and had a level of integrity to it. Now its just a bunch a goofys out here. WTH? I love EVs but Tesla is on the clock for me.

You’re welcome to your opinion but these are very standard features that come in many other cars. I’m referring to better visibility for turn signals, blind spot monitoring queues and stalks. The model 3 doesn’t have a traditional dash so functionally, these additions have had a huge impact for my daily driving.

I was going to make a snarky, sarcastic remark, but I'll just say I think that looks terrible and cheapens the appearance of the car. I never dress up cars with aftermarket stuff, bumper stickers, etc. To me a car is something to get me safely from one place to another. If it handles well with some performance that can be fun, but that's about it.

Why do you need to look at it? That's what the little clicking sound is.

I like the turn signal thing, but I think it would be cool to have the green light flash on either side of the steering wheel instead of all the way over on the right side. (Maybe it is possible, I’m not sure. I don’t own one, yet…)

That would be cool, I agree but unfortunately with this led strip kit I have you cannot. I recently turned it off all together for turn signals because I like the way the commander works to integrate the factory lighting half way around the car to do the same thing.

Nope. I haven't. There is also a setting to auto turn off when going straight for a period of time. Apparently you don't know your own Tesla settings.

How did you get edge lighting?

It’s a separate led strip which you install along the underneath side of the dash and connect to passenger side connections similar to other electronic mods for Tesla. Can be programmed to do stuff like turns, BSM, acceleration mode, sentry mode, startup animation, or just ambient lighting. S3xy offers one but so do many other companies. I got mine from Ali express.

Oh ok. It’s not the same. Also I was completely unclear lol. I have the one from enhance and they used to have an edge effect in the app. I guess I just assumed that you have the strip from them as well since you installed the commander and the stalks. 😂

Yea if I had used s3xy products from the start I may have considered that because of the integration and ability to work together better. That said, mine work great and have different features that enhance doesn’t offer currently i believe like the acceleration effect I showed in this video. I personally really enjoy it every time I drive. Since getting the commander I turned off all the features and just use startup, that and sentry.

yes i have a 2024 model 3 performance i have the buttons. I dont even look at the screen the ticking noise from the turn signal is very very loud

You may want to get your hearing checked. The frequency that most blinker sounds make is early to go.

Not irritating at all. They infact listened to consumers doing these kinds of after market mods by adding the ambient lighting in the highland. Again they listened to consumers by brining the stalks back and allowing for an oem retro fit. Personally, I moved to using the S3XY commander utilizing the factory ambient lighting to handle the visual queues for turn signals and BSM and it’s been incredible. I won’t be surprised if they do that down the line also as a factory option.

Very very loud is a stretch and I guess you don’t use music at moderate levels much. Again this is about more than the signals themselves. The BSM is the biggest issue and probably what I should have lead with. If you think those are great on your model 3 also, then we can agree to disagree 👍🏽
