2020 M3 SR+

Kooter37 | 2026-02-24 00:11 | 71 views

I picked this up about a month ago. I was supposed to help a family member sell it, I ended up buying it myself. So I guess I did my job. It’s my first EV and I couldn’t be happier. I find myself messing/tinkering with it constantly. Currently trying to get it cleaned up. It’s got some nicks and dings which is to be expected. So far all I’ve really done is darken the windows, take the wheel covers off, and install a wiring harness to unlock the unused speakers. Overall, I love the car.

Would you share the links for buying and installing the wiring to activate installed but not active speakers? TIA!

https://a.co/d/015IkbmQ for the wiring harness.

Did you darken the windows yourself?

Kooter37 2026-02-24 01:50

Nah, paid $400 for that. I still need/want to do the windshield.

I still have mine, my first Tesla 2020 Model 3 SR+ in white bought it new in 2019 and it’s still going strong 56k miles later

same I love mine, I also have a 2020 blue SR+ but with white seats. I done the speaker activation, a center console wrap to matte black, and the rear usb A to usb c retrofit. I feel like out of all the paint colors, blue looks the best with the chrome trim.

I agree 100%.

Did you paint the calipers or are those covers?

Kooter37 2026-02-24 14:49

They are painted, but that’s how they were when I got the car.

Suvi2k 2026-02-24 14:50

That’s cool, yellow always looked great to me with only blue or black cars.

Kooter37 2026-02-24 17:49

I couldn’t really see them with the covers on. So I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled them off.

Ha I hate aero covers, I don’t blame you!

I just sold mine! Loved it!

Did they give instructions on how to install it?

Kooter37 2026-02-27 23:06

No, but you can find YouTube videos showing how to install. It’s pretty straight forward. Just a few plugs and trim pieces to remove and reinstall. The plug at the computer behind the glovebox is the hardest part.

Are there any big differences between the 2020 and current models?
