She’s just chilling.

MapleQuasar 2026-02-23 16:34

Summon it out lol

beretta01 2026-02-23 16:36

~~Teresa~~ Bonnie Blue

brunoburz 2026-02-23 16:36

It would be fun to remotely crank up the internal heat to high and see what happens.

ADiablosCompa 2026-02-23 16:38

Oh oh

CourseEcstatic6202 2026-02-23 16:39

Precondition will fix everything

thnok 2026-02-23 16:39

lol tried it during previous storm and summon even dumb one didn’t want to move.

Keevan 2026-02-23 16:39

songbolt 2026-02-23 16:41

Reddit has remarked before even the tiniest invisible crack from a pebble hitting on the Interstate, the thaw feature will cause to crack and ruin the windshield ...

MrDontTakeMyStapler 2026-02-23 16:42

Theresa, transform into a snowplow. Rollout!

ignite1hp 2026-02-23 16:43

That is only if you go straight for max defrost. If you set the interior temp to like 70 first and let the cabin slowly heat up and THEN do max defrost, you are fine.

brunoburz 2026-02-23 16:48

Meh. Let’s do it anyway! 😏

TheGauchoAmigo84 2026-02-23 16:51

Hahahahahah rip Theresa 😂

TheGauchoAmigo84 2026-02-23 16:52

For science!

Kallistou 2026-02-23 16:59

Do not use a shovel pls

Current_Speaker_5684 2026-02-23 17:11

Yeah, this situation calls for a pick axe

FishrNC 2026-02-23 17:13

This is going to impact your range.

kdegraaf 2026-02-23 17:19

I will never understand the obsession with storing shit in one's garage and leaving a nice car out in the elements.

brunoburz 2026-02-23 17:21

Exactly.

agonyou 2026-02-23 17:22

I used to do precisely this and after a few hours it was good!

brunoburz 2026-02-23 17:26

It would be so cool to see a time lapse of that happening. The best I can do living in Phoenix is turning on Max cool in the middle of July and watching the internal temperature plummet.

FreeThinkers2023 2026-02-23 17:33

Better turn up the heater

HumbleIncognito 2026-02-23 17:34

Please turn on defrost and post results, I’d love to know how long it took

Away-Scar7754 2026-02-23 17:44

😬😂😬😂

AltruisticPapaya1415 2026-02-23 17:45

I genuinely want to see how much shoveling using preconditioning would save u

OneExhaustedFather_ 2026-02-23 17:52

When I did mobile service for Tesla in the winter I would tell customers to do just this. If they were in a garage I would ask they roll the windows down and plug in, hit max defrost on the app. Most 2-3 stall garages would 60ish degrees within 30min.

Substantial_Chain718 2026-02-23 17:53

Here you go: https://share.google/kK9DFQwrNyNHbhAyQ

EvalCrux 2026-02-23 17:54

Turn on thaw mode you’ll be out in no time. Maybe spring.

brunoburz 2026-02-23 17:57

Awesome! You’re the best. Thank you.

Better than a rake

cantgettherefromhere 2026-02-23 18:49

I get 300 inches of snow in a good year and do this every storm. The only issue is that the side of the car ends up covered in ice from drips, including the charge port cover.

Theonlyrational 2026-02-23 18:49

First defrost for 12 hours, then summon.

Initial_Row_6400 2026-02-23 18:51

That’s the case for any glass. Source: glazier of ten years

songbolt 2026-02-23 18:58

thanks, i suspected as much after watching a clay/kiln/pottery video (i don't know words) where it showed the complete process only for it to crack in the furnace; makes me think any hairline fracture is ruinous when heat is applied for materials in general

brunoburz 2026-02-23 19:19

Oh shit! Great point! I didn’t think of that. Just because the car and the windows are hot, that means that as soon as it hits something cold it is going to create a magic shell.

highongp10 2026-02-23 19:44

Np

Fabi0_Z 2026-02-23 19:49

Because doing the opposite is quite worse under every aspect. Also cars are made to withstand the elements

skinnah 2026-02-23 19:50

That doesn't work with a heat pump though.

Valuable_Ad_4916 2026-02-23 20:06

And garages are made to store cars.

-eccentric- 2026-02-23 20:12

It's just basic physics. The car can heat up *FAST* and if you're blasting hot 22° air at a -5° window you're in for a treat.

starkiller_bass 2026-02-23 20:12

I'm thinking the cameras may believe there is some kind of obstacle. Everywhere.

-eccentric- 2026-02-23 20:12

Parking sensors and cameras wouldn't allow you to

-eccentric- 2026-02-23 20:13

Regarding that i'm glad it's illegal to store anything non car related in a garage in germany. Never really enforced unless reported though.

thnok 2026-02-23 20:19

Yes exactly reason why it didn't wanna move.

EMV92LA 2026-02-23 20:24

🤣 Only one Telsa can have it's throne.

Scoutron 2026-02-23 20:29

Jesus Christ I cannot imagine living in a country that just makes doing mundane shit in my own property illegal

ZURII778 2026-02-23 20:53

Please do

AmbitionHonest7734 2026-02-23 21:01

Good way to crack a windshield.

ForeverMinute7479 2026-02-23 21:28

DEFROST mode NOW!!!🤪

OneExhaustedFather_ 2026-02-23 21:32

It does. I just did it Saturday with an M3 doing a Super/HP replacement. Post repair just to confirm it was working HP is just a little longer than the PTC heater.

RickJWagner 2026-02-23 21:34

Upvoting for the wording. ‘Treat’ made me laugh.

Fabi0_Z 2026-02-23 21:37

Absolutely true, but sometimes you need to sacrifice the space

skinnah 2026-02-23 21:39

A heat pump moves heat from the outside into the cabin. It would make the garage colder while the interior gets warmer, if the windows are up. If the windows are down it's just a circular cycle and the only heat you're gaining is from deliberate inefficiencies of the drive motors, cabin fan, and compressor. You'd be better off just plugging a cheap 1500w heater in the garage than all of that.

OneExhaustedFather_ 2026-02-23 21:54

I know how a heat pump works. A 1500w heater does not heat as fast or as large of a space. As max defrost also turns on all seat heaters and electric defrost grids. This increases cabin ambient temp and is cycled into the system. I live in Chicago and tested this thoroughly over 3 winters I was mobile service. My mobile unit was a heat pump car and would be fully warmed up and interior nearly 80* every morning when I’d leave Avg precondition cycle took less than 25-30min to have the cabin to full temp. I’ve done this on hundreds of customer cars as well with the same results.

pembaThePanda 2026-02-23 22:25

Stupid to assume there isn't another car in there.

SirAxlerod 2026-02-23 23:36

bouchandre 2026-02-24 00:31

I did this before and the windshield cracked. Thankfully Tesla replaced it for free

brunoburz 2026-02-24 00:33

😬

rupees_al 2026-02-24 01:43

Might not even be a Tesla lol.

baloney90 2026-02-24 02:06

My windshield cracked doing that lol

Icy-Coconut-7585 2026-02-24 02:32

My Tesla was also Teresa🥹

brunoburz 2026-02-24 02:32

😬

Vanterax 2026-02-24 03:46

Good thing she's not pearl white. You'd never find her.

EMV92LA 2026-02-24 04:37

SHE LIVES!!!! 😭🥲😂. Thanks for all the advice, concerns and laughs ya'll. https://preview.redd.it/nu1ulc0sfdlg1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=58758e3104813e253e995217e53a3965afc65375

EMV92LA 2026-02-24 04:40

Oh I'd find her. It would be Spring but I'd find her 😂.

EMV92LA 2026-02-24 04:43

I did that last and this time. Just melts the layer underneath to help swipe it away.

Academic-Gas-8012 2026-02-24 04:58

I’m glad I saw this post now and not this morning. I would’ve hated the agony of knowing if she lived or not 🥹😅

EMV92LA 2026-02-24 05:01

Hahaha, glad to quell any agony before it started!

EMV92LA 2026-02-24 05:27

LOL Findings are: my glass still in one piece. I also pay for the windshield protection.

EMV92LA 2026-02-24 05:29

LOL Damn should've tried it, didn't cross my mind since I've only used it twice 😂.

EMV92LA 2026-02-24 05:30

😎🥶

EMV92LA 2026-02-24 05:30

🤷‍♂️

SnooSquirrels9064 2026-02-24 05:57

Eeeh.... would have been better to see it done to something like OP's situation being completely surrounded in snow up to the door handles. That doesn't look like anywhere near a foot of snow on top of it.

EMV92LA 2026-02-24 05:58

EMV92LA 2026-02-24 06:18

She lived 🥹.

EMV92LA 2026-02-24 06:22

Ah didn't do analytics but defrost definitely helped loosen the bottom to slide everything off.

EMV92LA 2026-02-24 06:30

Mmm shoveling around it didn't really matter because I have a snow blower but definitely helped slide off the snow ontop of it after a while. Posted a picture.

EMV92LA 2026-02-24 06:31

Gotcha homie 😉👉.

AbbreviationsNo1418 2026-02-24 12:12

Are you in Spain?

[deleted] 2026-02-24 12:52

idk if this is your video or not but the home address is visible in the video. the sticker dissapears before the screen changes

RedElmo65 2026-02-24 13:06

How many miles do you lose?

FutureMartian97 2026-02-24 13:16

You're still coming in, right?

samzplourde 2026-02-24 13:26

I've seen a couple of cracked windshields here on Reddit by doing that.

OneExhaustedFather_ 2026-02-24 13:38

That’s why I said plugged in, it will use 10-15% of the battery in that time frame to heat everything up. It’s not advised if the battery is low and you don’t plan to go charge soon.

rontombot 2026-02-24 14:58

Rhode Island? Providence?

mauiboy59 2026-02-24 15:50

Reverse annealing used in mold curing for glass casting is a decent model: \*Carefully\* and slowly raise the temperature of the glass mold to 1000f before adding the molten glass to avoid cracking. In this case, heat the cabin normally before using the defrost heater.

CAMMARMANN 2026-02-24 16:33

I love the way customers talk to techs and explain the car to them like someone who talked to chat gpt before going to the doctor.

OneExhaustedFather_ 2026-02-24 17:16

lol the number of times I hear “ChatGPT says” in a week has surpassed people saying hello.

NecessaryInternet603 2026-02-24 17:20

I'm glad you got it shoveled out. Did you prepare by plugging it in before the snow event?

Substantial_Chain718 2026-02-24 20:58

No not my video. I remember seeing it on YouTube and posted it here. He doxed himself. LOL!!

EMV92LA 2026-02-24 22:35

Yeah back and hands paid the price but glad I'm mobile if need be. I had it plugged in the whole time and was 100% for probably mid storm till I pre conditioned it to help remove the snow ontop and move it to shovel underneath it.

EMV92LA 2026-02-24 23:28

Si and si.

rontombot 2026-02-24 23:29

Our boy has been sending us similar reports and pictures from Brown...

EMV92LA 2026-02-24 23:42

Oh god I can only imagine how it is down there. Haven't left since it fell but they did a one through our street earlier. Expecting a second to cover our driveway later 🥲.

SamirD 2026-02-26 04:44

If it was plugged in the whole time, I would have set the interior to like 60F and left it to hold temp--should have melted a lot of that snow as it landed. :D

EMV92LA 2026-02-26 05:04

I could've but waste of energy IMO. Preheating made the top removal a breeze while I excavated it out LOL.

SamirD 2026-02-27 01:39

True, but it's energy either way since it takes energy to excavate. ;) Glad you got it out though! Showed the picture to the wife earlier today and she said, where's the car? lol!

EMV92LA 2026-02-27 02:04

LMAO I thought of getting a autonomous electric snow blower as I was out there 😂. Hahaha you guys can play where's the Tesla with photos like this.

SamirD 2026-02-27 05:05

Wait, they have those?!?! Link please!

megacewl 2026-03-04 00:26

Isn’t 22 still really really cold air ? Pretty sure this is basic physics

-eccentric- 2026-03-04 06:31

That's very warm.
