She’s just chilling.
Summon it out lol
~~Teresa~~ Bonnie Blue
It would be fun to remotely crank up the internal heat to high and see what happens.
Oh oh
Precondition will fix everything
lol tried it during previous storm and summon even dumb one didn’t want to move.
Futbol es solo futbol
Reddit has remarked before even the tiniest invisible crack from a pebble hitting on the Interstate, the thaw feature will cause to crack and ruin the windshield ...
Theresa, transform into a snowplow. Rollout!
That is only if you go straight for max defrost. If you set the interior temp to like 70 first and let the cabin slowly heat up and THEN do max defrost, you are fine.
Meh. Let’s do it anyway! 😏
Hahahahahah rip Theresa 😂
For science!
Do not use a shovel pls
Yeah, this situation calls for a pick axe
This is going to impact your range.
I will never understand the obsession with storing shit in one's garage and leaving a nice car out in the elements.
Exactly.
I used to do precisely this and after a few hours it was good!
It would be so cool to see a time lapse of that happening. The best I can do living in Phoenix is turning on Max cool in the middle of July and watching the internal temperature plummet.
Better turn up the heater
Please turn on defrost and post results, I’d love to know how long it took
😬😂😬😂
I genuinely want to see how much shoveling using preconditioning would save u
When I did mobile service for Tesla in the winter I would tell customers to do just this. If they were in a garage I would ask they roll the windows down and plug in, hit max defrost on the app. Most 2-3 stall garages would 60ish degrees within 30min.
Here you go: https://share.google/kK9DFQwrNyNHbhAyQ
Turn on thaw mode you’ll be out in no time. Maybe spring.
Awesome! You’re the best. Thank you.

Better than a rake
I get 300 inches of snow in a good year and do this every storm. The only issue is that the side of the car ends up covered in ice from drips, including the charge port cover.
First defrost for 12 hours, then summon.
That’s the case for any glass. Source: glazier of ten years
thanks, i suspected as much after watching a clay/kiln/pottery video (i don't know words) where it showed the complete process only for it to crack in the furnace; makes me think any hairline fracture is ruinous when heat is applied for materials in general
Oh shit! Great point! I didn’t think of that. Just because the car and the windows are hot, that means that as soon as it hits something cold it is going to create a magic shell.
Np
Because doing the opposite is quite worse under every aspect. Also cars are made to withstand the elements
That doesn't work with a heat pump though.
And garages are made to store cars.
It's just basic physics. The car can heat up *FAST* and if you're blasting hot 22° air at a -5° window you're in for a treat.
I'm thinking the cameras may believe there is some kind of obstacle. Everywhere.
Parking sensors and cameras wouldn't allow you to
Regarding that i'm glad it's illegal to store anything non car related in a garage in germany. Never really enforced unless reported though.
Yes exactly reason why it didn't wanna move.
🤣 Only one Telsa can have it's throne.
Jesus Christ I cannot imagine living in a country that just makes doing mundane shit in my own property illegal
Please do
Good way to crack a windshield.
DEFROST mode NOW!!!🤪
It does. I just did it Saturday with an M3 doing a Super/HP replacement. Post repair just to confirm it was working HP is just a little longer than the PTC heater.
Upvoting for the wording. ‘Treat’ made me laugh.
Absolutely true, but sometimes you need to sacrifice the space
A heat pump moves heat from the outside into the cabin. It would make the garage colder while the interior gets warmer, if the windows are up. If the windows are down it's just a circular cycle and the only heat you're gaining is from deliberate inefficiencies of the drive motors, cabin fan, and compressor. You'd be better off just plugging a cheap 1500w heater in the garage than all of that.
I know how a heat pump works. A 1500w heater does not heat as fast or as large of a space. As max defrost also turns on all seat heaters and electric defrost grids. This increases cabin ambient temp and is cycled into the system. I live in Chicago and tested this thoroughly over 3 winters I was mobile service. My mobile unit was a heat pump car and would be fully warmed up and interior nearly 80* every morning when I’d leave Avg precondition cycle took less than 25-30min to have the cabin to full temp. I’ve done this on hundreds of customer cars as well with the same results.
Stupid to assume there isn't another car in there.
HOA
I did this before and the windshield cracked. Thankfully Tesla replaced it for free
😬
Might not even be a Tesla lol.
My windshield cracked doing that lol
My Tesla was also Teresa🥹
😬
Good thing she's not pearl white. You'd never find her.
SHE LIVES!!!! 😭🥲😂. Thanks for all the advice, concerns and laughs ya'll. https://preview.redd.it/nu1ulc0sfdlg1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=58758e3104813e253e995217e53a3965afc65375
Oh I'd find her. It would be Spring but I'd find her 😂.
I did that last and this time. Just melts the layer underneath to help swipe it away.
I’m glad I saw this post now and not this morning. I would’ve hated the agony of knowing if she lived or not 🥹😅
Hahaha, glad to quell any agony before it started!
LOL Findings are: my glass still in one piece. I also pay for the windshield protection.
LOL Damn should've tried it, didn't cross my mind since I've only used it twice 😂.
😎🥶
🤷♂️
Eeeh.... would have been better to see it done to something like OP's situation being completely surrounded in snow up to the door handles. That doesn't look like anywhere near a foot of snow on top of it.

Eh 🤔?
I used a spoon 😶.
You think by Spring Break? 😵💫
In theee eyeesss off annn angelllll 🕊 .
🥹🫶
She lived 🥹.
Ah didn't do analytics but defrost definitely helped loosen the bottom to slide everything off.
Mmm shoveling around it didn't really matter because I have a snow blower but definitely helped slide off the snow ontop of it after a while. Posted a picture.
Gotcha homie 😉👉.
Are you in Spain?
idk if this is your video or not but the home address is visible in the video. the sticker dissapears before the screen changes
How many miles do you lose?
You're still coming in, right?
I've seen a couple of cracked windshields here on Reddit by doing that.
That’s why I said plugged in, it will use 10-15% of the battery in that time frame to heat everything up. It’s not advised if the battery is low and you don’t plan to go charge soon.
Rhode Island? Providence?
Reverse annealing used in mold curing for glass casting is a decent model: \*Carefully\* and slowly raise the temperature of the glass mold to 1000f before adding the molten glass to avoid cracking. In this case, heat the cabin normally before using the defrost heater.
I love the way customers talk to techs and explain the car to them like someone who talked to chat gpt before going to the doctor.
lol the number of times I hear “ChatGPT says” in a week has surpassed people saying hello.
I'm glad you got it shoveled out. Did you prepare by plugging it in before the snow event?
No not my video. I remember seeing it on YouTube and posted it here. He doxed himself. LOL!!
Yeah back and hands paid the price but glad I'm mobile if need be. I had it plugged in the whole time and was 100% for probably mid storm till I pre conditioned it to help remove the snow ontop and move it to shovel underneath it.
Si and si.
Our boy has been sending us similar reports and pictures from Brown...
Oh god I can only imagine how it is down there. Haven't left since it fell but they did a one through our street earlier. Expecting a second to cover our driveway later 🥲.
If it was plugged in the whole time, I would have set the interior to like 60F and left it to hold temp--should have melted a lot of that snow as it landed. :D
I could've but waste of energy IMO. Preheating made the top removal a breeze while I excavated it out LOL.
True, but it's energy either way since it takes energy to excavate. ;) Glad you got it out though! Showed the picture to the wife earlier today and she said, where's the car? lol!
LMAO I thought of getting a autonomous electric snow blower as I was out there 😂. Hahaha you guys can play where's the Tesla with photos like this.
Wait, they have those?!?! Link please!
Isn’t 22 still really really cold air ? Pretty sure this is basic physics
That's very warm.
