BT TPMS Sensors

Own-Manufacturer-768 | 2026-02-21 22:11 | 11 views

I have a 2021 model 3 SR+ and am looking at getting after market wheels. I realized I would have to buy a whole new set of bluetooth sensors (approx. $400) to install. But after calling a wheel shop, they told me they could switch out the factory sensors from my wheels and transfer them to my new ones. They have after markets sensors for teslas, that are detachable but he said he wasnt 100% sure if the OEM sensors are detachable or not. If they were, he could do the switch and only have to replace the valve stem (approx. $40). So does anyone know if the factory TMPS are detachable/transferable. I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience or knew anything about this. Thanks!

When I put aftermarket wheels on mine they just swapped from the factory wheels. Everything works fine.

This would be the only reason I might look towards a new set https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaLounge/s/DcC70nq1Fo

I’m using an Amazon set I got for $200 CAD. Rarely I get no response from one randomly but it goes away and stays clear long enough for me to not care.

On my first EV.. but coming from ICE cars I've always been able to swap TPMS sensors from set to set. Never had to buy more. Is their something proprietary about Tesla wheels?
