Lots of great stories here. I found a Tesla listed as a 2019 Model S Long Range, with 36k miles for $24k. Upon inspecting in person, I realized it was actually a 2019 Model S Performance with Ludicrous mode. Includes adaptive suspension and premium sound, but at $24k with 36k miles, I bought it on the spot. Two weeks later the HV battery died, and Tesla replaced it under warranty. Even gave me a loaner. So far, best decision I’ve ever made.

Well done mate. I did the same thing but with a 2018 Model X about two years ago. Got it for 21k with FSD included. Drove it for about 18 months, paid it off and transferred the FSD to a new Model Y last August. Sold the Model X to Carvana for about 17k. Just need to call insurance to see if they’ll insure the FSD.

Does not matter. Dealers get a car for xyz price and they sell for abc markup. They make money on markup on what they bought it for. You an also say how they duped the previous customer with low ball trade in offer. If they say you are a bad guy, ask them you also duped the previous owner

Similar thing happened to me. I bought what was listed as a long range and I ended up with a performance with EAP which I upgraded to FSD.

This is one of the weird things about these cars. If I ever get in an accident, how will my insurance company assess the value of my FSD package? Now the thing is a subscription, so if I can’t find the identical car, I’ll need to pay that forever instead? Strange times.

Tesla will disable the fsd once the sale hits. Only private sales got to keep the fsd. Unless something changed recently ?

I have a special "workflow" setup for just these kind of cases in the app (FSD Hunter). If I find Full Self Driving Capability, but not subscription/expires and no included package. I put it into a pending table for manual review. This one is clearly "Included package" Would you believe 60% of listings don't even show the software screen? (Checked on over 60k past listings)

It drives me insane when they don’t show it. When I was looking for a used Tesla last year I had to call so many dealers and walk them through sending the pictures of the proper screens. Carvana and Carmax are the worst offenders.
