Lowered the ol girl an inch - almost done with mods

Ebarron0125 | 2026-02-18 15:12 | 423 views

Did the 1” AST lowering springs a couple days ago. Feels just like oem ride quality wise. Now Just got the Adro lip left which should get delivered today and she will be done with mods 🥹

Stance looks great 👍🏽

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 15:15

I was worried it wouldn’t be too noticeable of a drop. On my last 3 I did the 2” drop and it looked gooood. But this is a nice middle ground, and it doesn’t scrape on everything. Appreciate it!

UpperFerret 2026-02-18 15:15

Mannnnn, be prepared for Tesla service center denying anything like power windows claiming that this caused it and that they won’t cover under warranty. Those bastads will claim anything to get out of doing service

Suvi2k 2026-02-18 15:17

Wheel gap is the only thing that matters and yours is nice imo. I’m reaching the point of being done with my mods too. Usually it’s just aero, tint, wheels, detailing and a drop also but this car had some fun electronic stuff too haha. Enjoy!

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 15:18

My service center is pretty good about things, they replaced one of my tinted windows that hat a small chip in the corner that i missed on delivery day. 2 months later i go in and they swap it out and even offered to reimburse the tint fee

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 15:19

Man if anything add the master brake cylinder brace to your list! Easy quick mod, and if you dont want to pay 200+ to the big brands, find it on amazon for like 30 bucks lol

Omacrontron 2026-02-18 15:21

The US has ok ish consumer laws. To deny a warranty claim you need to prove their modification in some way shape or form caused the failure. For example you cannot deny my warranty for a WiFi antenna because I put wheel covers on my car. I mean you could try and I could escalate but it’s not going to be worth it for Tesla to try and fight these types of things.

proteinn 2026-02-18 15:25

Looks good. What headlight film did you go with?

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 15:26

No film, I did the yellow Drl board from hanshow. Overpriced tbh you can get the same Drl board for like $40 on eBay

Suvi2k 2026-02-18 15:27

I saw this the other day but it was from MPP and pricey. Did it really make a difference? How so if you don’t mind me asking.

UsefulAd7361 2026-02-18 15:28

Show us the rims

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 15:28

Yeah you feel more of the braking. Like a faster more direct responses when you try to brake. Hmmm less mushy if that makes sense

Suvi2k 2026-02-18 15:30

It does and what the description on the site was saying too. Which one did you go with? I’m currently in the process of deciding on new pads. Also new rotors (just for aesthetics though lol)

zyneman 2026-02-18 15:30

How do you even drive around the city like this?

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 15:30

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 15:32

Very carefully

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 15:33

I went with the mountain pass one I believe, it’s blue. Bought it used off of teslamotorsclub forum marketplace lol

PugMaster007 2026-02-18 15:34

I don't think I'd ever lower my car, I'm an old guy who's going to be 60 this year.. lol.. That said, I think they can look great when properly done and yours looks great!

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 15:35

Appreciate it! Yeah I learned my first lesson when I lowered the other one I had 2 inches. Anytime I saw a bump in a parking garage i had to close my eyes lol those scrape noises were terrible. This how ever is more doable and now my 3 year old can hop out a lot easier lol

nismos14us 2026-02-18 15:36

Wheel size?

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 15:37

20x9 front 20x10.5 rear

Tudz 2026-02-18 15:44

Yeah so the suspension is off limits for warranty now which fails A LOT lol

Initial_Row_6400 2026-02-18 15:47

That would be a death sentence on the roads around me

Omacrontron 2026-02-18 15:48

You right they’ll deny any suspension related stuff for sure. He went spring too which could cause the shocks to prematurely wear since they’re operating at another hight due to the springs.

Suvi2k 2026-02-18 15:49

Ah ok, I’ll likely settle on those or HPS. 👍🏽

Early-Yesterday3666 2026-02-18 15:51

Wauw what a beauty

TheGauchoAmigo84 2026-02-18 15:52

Representative-Law99 2026-02-18 15:54

Same!!! I already have to drive like I'm drunk so that I don't hit a pothole every 2-3 seconds.

boardSpy 2026-02-18 16:02

Nice

Initial_Row_6400 2026-02-18 16:11

lol yup

scohen158 2026-02-18 16:12

If I lowered my M3P an inch I’d have the battery ripped out. I don’t get the desire to make your car less drivable but kudos to you lol.

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 16:13

Looks better lol 😆

DaNerdyNegro 2026-02-18 16:20

iamdonovanwilliams 2026-02-18 16:22

Whats on your headlights?

Comfortable-Car-7298 2026-02-18 16:25

Looks amazing, mine already bottoms out at the stock height on the roads here, so as much as I’d love to do the same I’ll most likely will have to lift it or air it and give it a rally car vibe. Have any issues bottoming out? Btw I love how the knards flow into the side curtain intakes.

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 16:29

Yellow Drl conversion boards

Away-Scar7754 2026-02-18 16:33

![gif](giphy|VP7A9ihlS6iZreA4L0) I’m an old guy who turned 60 last June and I think a lowered car is worth the struggle and knee pain 😂 If mine was not a lease, I’d use the lowering kit OP used. It looks great!

Away-Scar7754 2026-02-18 16:33

😂😂😂

Away-Scar7754 2026-02-18 16:34

What’s your wheel size? Any other mods beyond what you posted? Impact on range?

Away-Scar7754 2026-02-18 16:37

I’m really curious about the electronic “stuff” did you create a post with your mods or can you share

Suvi2k 2026-02-18 16:40

I have done a few so far that I consider worthwhile and functional but didn’t cover all of them, just a few like this one for my power frunk. https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaModel3/s/f53ooblXlB The trunk light strip was another really good one imo.

Xraile31 2026-02-18 16:46

Hey man where did you get that front canard under your headlights? Been looking for one

tikipunch13 2026-02-18 16:49

modelplusstudio 2026-02-18 17:47

Yupppp! :D

Shakurs2pac 2026-02-18 17:48

lol if I tried driving this around Los Angeles with the potholes I’d have to say goodbye to my bumpers

Shakurs2pac 2026-02-18 17:49

Same. Mine already scrapes on driveways around here

Katmilla 2026-02-18 18:08

same, I want to lower it but ive already hit some shitty roads and high speedbumps

SnowMuted5200 2026-02-18 18:10

Could never do that here in San Diego, too many road bumps and pot holes.

NeighborhoodKey999 2026-02-18 18:39

Is it more aerodynamic? Is it a performance model? The tires are a bit too close to the edges. How are you handling speed bumps being that low, if you’ve got any in your area? Nice color and headlights.

rayapple 2026-02-18 18:42

I love the drop! She looks hella clean imo, I went with a 1.4 inch drop with dinan springs n the handling kit, and yes I too feel like the drop isn’t all that noticeable but again going for daily drivability is important, and as long as she can be driven daily without scraping I see it as a win! I personally barely see my own drop but I feel like the tires play a roll in this as the continentals I’m running do have a bit of a curvy sidewall which eats the stance. Also I love the yellow day time running lights, it goes so well with the quick silver along with the LMs. It’s beautiful! I love how your drop is more noticeable even though it’s just an inch, and OEM ride is the sweet spot, how is the adaptive dampening with the new springs? Is it even firmer or about the same? Here’s mine with the drop, mine indeed is a good ol 3. https://preview.redd.it/2h8anmjlsakg1.jpeg?width=1479&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a34eefc828bd1b2e6f478dc49c09ba0929f66c5

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 18:45

Adaptive dampening is good still! Feels just like oem tbh. I think the reason the drop looks more noticeable is that I upsized the tires from oem diameter. The oem tires are at 26.5” in height and these front/back ones are at 27” so it’s essentially half an inch less of wheel well space. I like your diffuser retrofit, saw it over on tmc I’m pretty sure

rayapple 2026-02-18 18:59

Ohhh, I honestly might follow with the upsize too, mine are around 26.5 too, plus my roads here aren’t the best for the rims though I got fairly chunky sidewalls, reason I asked about the adaptive dampening is because my friends looking to lower his highland too, and was concerned about the adaptive dampening not being as good, thanks for that!! Also thank u!! Yeah i had her up on TMC lol!

caesfinest6one9 2026-02-18 19:35

I don't usually comment on married woman but that's one sexy bitch!

LavaCreeper500 2026-02-18 19:43

Do you have any other photos of em on the car? Been considering them heavily, but I’ve never found anyone with them standalone.

short_bus_genius 2026-02-18 19:45

Wow, those are pretty! My first thought was “Why buy performance rims and swap them out?” But looks like you chose good ones

short_bus_genius 2026-02-18 19:46

Dude! It’s 2026, not 1976 New York. We don’t cat call hot sexy bitches anymore!

Fantastic_Prior8964 2026-02-18 20:20

Quite surprising considering the set of wheels you went with. Nonetheless, looks damn good!

UnReal_Orbit19 2026-02-18 20:23

What made you go with the AST springs? It looks great!

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 20:25

I think what helps is I upsized the tire wall on the new wheels. These are .5” taller than stock tires so my 1” drop is more like a .5” drop in clearance plus more tire protection

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 20:27

I had them on my 24 m3p and loved how they kept the oem feel, I had tried unplugged dual rates before and they made the ride bouncier. With these ast I don’t feel any suspension difference. Even when I did the 2” drop on my red 3 they felt 90% like stock https://preview.redd.it/mmzigj5vbbkg1.jpeg?width=1320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=86260e372e7e63adabd9a127a9544fee47bf125c

UnReal_Orbit19 2026-02-18 20:30

Glad to hear that! I’ve been looking into getting a set of springs myself. Did you do any other supporting suspension mods or just the springs?

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 20:31

Thank you! I guess the main reason I liked them was I love how they look in motion, after that I ran across threads of people saying reps vs real wheels and I didn’t want reps 😂 so I got them for myself when I paid off my first m3p as a congrats gift

FloGrownQban 2026-02-18 20:31

Normally I don't care for lowered cars but this looks sick! Very tastefully done

AmbitionHonest7734 2026-02-18 22:10

I'm back and forth on the DRLs. How much effort was it? I know it's in the wheel well somewhere.

Top_Presentation7467 2026-02-18 23:17

Ugly.

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 23:57

Not yet! Just ordered sway bars today. Did get the master cylinder brake brace, and will probably do the traction and trialing arms after that

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 23:58

Thank you!

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 23:58

Looking damn good! Is yours the one with all the MPP parts on it?

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 23:59

First side took me like 45 minutes. One bolt is a bitch to get to. Second side took me like 25 minutes. Worth it tho. Looks gooood

Ebarron0125 2026-02-18 23:59

The rice mobile lol thanks

VicAltman 2026-02-19 00:18

Yes, its the performance

Ill-Advantage-605 2026-02-19 00:20

Please elaborate. Which coilovers and adaptive delete kit did you go with? Him many millimeter drop?

huh_say_what_now_ 2026-02-19 00:38

I made a few posts about all the things IV done you should have a look, but it's unplugged performance delete kit , MCA pro sport coilovers from Australia and every camber arm front and rear you can get from mountain pass performance, front and rear sway bars from unplugged performance and a few other things and I set the high to about a finger gap between the tire an fender

NeighborhoodKey999 2026-02-19 00:40

Take it to the track!!!!!

Ill-Advantage-605 2026-02-19 00:54

Thanks! No issues with the UP active delete sensors? I read some users were complaining they experienced warning alerts on the screen.

AmbitionHonest7734 2026-02-19 00:55

It does. Can you change the colors? I'm curious if it's just a little remote or through an app.

iKingerz 2026-02-19 00:56

Looks great! What side skirts are those?

Electrical_Target25 2026-02-19 01:01

Looks dope 🔥

valtrex77 2026-02-19 01:01

Some you can. He went with the Hanshow yellow conversion kit which only allows yellow color.

badtxmex 2026-02-19 01:03

What % tint on the front shield man?? White interior feels like a fish bowl sometimes

RScottyL 2026-02-19 01:29

These 2024+ Model 3 Performances are already pretty low to the ground, and I have to go really slow over some speed bumps in mine! Not sure why you would want to lower it more!

VincentAXM 2026-02-19 01:50

not really, this 2 piece design might even be heavier than the original rim. lower the car itself won't make it faster on track (suspension system works as a whole system), for m3p you generally have to increase the spring weight around 1kg than the stock. The biggest problem of m3p on track is the brake, they overheat extremely quickly. My first mod is a set of ap 9660 with 380 mm ventilation dics

TeamImpulseX 2026-02-19 01:54

What’s the wheel size? I’m looking at some Rohana’s, but can’t decide size.

huh_say_what_now_ 2026-02-19 02:20

No I just followed the instructions and everything worked like it should

Hushed_Rl 2026-02-19 02:37

How’s your ride quality? I lowered my 21 1.25 inch with h and r springs, and it’s a pretty harsh ride now.

Ebarron0125 2026-02-19 02:38

I’ve had hr springs and unplugged springs. These ast feel oem to me. I had the 2 inch ast before as well and those were a bit harsher. I noticed the unplugged and hr were more bouncy then these too. But these 1” ast are good to me and my wife didn’t even realize they were different springs either

Hushed_Rl 2026-02-19 02:39

Gotcha, thanks.

Ebarron0125 2026-02-19 02:40

20x9 front 20x10.5 rear. Perfect fit tbh

Ebarron0125 2026-02-19 02:41

Easy little hack for that, upsize the tires! The stocks are 26.5” tall, I went with 27” tall ones. Gives you a hair more room for not scraping. Then I just clawed that back and some with springs lol

Ebarron0125 2026-02-19 02:41

Thanks! They are Adro

VicAltman 2026-02-19 03:11

Im not OP

Xraile31 2026-02-19 04:50

Was it hard to install

Ebarron0125 2026-02-19 05:00

The warp wheels on my first m3p both got bent within 3 months lol they are weak for being forged unfortunately. But they are light

Ebarron0125 2026-02-19 05:02

No issues luckily, at least not yet. Thanks!

Tudz 2026-02-19 05:10

Not really worth it on these cars just drive em guess this one won't be using FSD either if so should be illegal

cherrytoffee 2026-02-19 05:18

Honesty, not a fan of all those accessories added to the car. Ruins the clean crisp lines of the stock car.

sandbeech 2026-02-19 05:27

Those little winglets are awesome. Reminds me of the motogp ones, which I like.

Ebarron0125 2026-02-19 05:29

Thanks! I wasn’t a fan of the ones for the legacy model 3 that were a C shape but I like these. And they go good with the front lip! https://preview.redd.it/4jvb4lgg0ekg1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4e4a731386797cb0fdba8287c1e8254263f2ba11

Someone I know lowered their model 3. Nothing but headaches and regret. Hope you have a better outcome. Looks awesome.

Ebarron0125 2026-02-20 23:29

The first model 3 I had I lowered 2 inches. And yeah that was a pain anywhere with clearance. This time at 1” drop with tires that are .5” taller, it’s a lot better! I wont ever lower 2” again

SubieSTI360 2026-02-23 14:36

Detroit checking in.. I don't have the car yet.. but I ordered a 2024 M3P.. I can tell already the stock 20's are gonna have to go. Looking to get 18's with sidewall. I'll take the L on the looks. I'm getting to old to crash over these potholes with rubber band tires.. lol

How hard was it to do?

AlarmedBet2857 2026-03-04 01:44

I love how you made the negative post look silly without them even knowing it. 😆. All you have to do is mention some simple adding and subtraction, and the problem that wasn't a problem to begin with is solved
