For 2,550 😏

Odd_Adagio_9650 | 2026-02-12 22:09 | 134 views

It’s beat up but it’s dual motor and has paid FSD. Time to fix it now 😆

Pretty sure Tesla will tell you the FSD is non-transferable to the new owner.

Wonderful-Froyo1619 2026-02-13 01:21

Maybe FSD is why it looks like that 🤷‍♂️

Fabulous_Scale4771 2026-02-13 01:22

FSD is connected to the car. Not to people.

diginfinity 2026-02-13 01:25

You sure about that? To be clear, I'm not sure, but that was my understanding. I really hope when they tell Tesla it is now their car that Tesla let's them keep it. I really do. I love FSD. Buy Tesla may want it back.

Brief-Cod2037 2026-02-13 02:05

The software page that says fsd is included in software package is misleading. Just means its available. You are looking on the autopilot page that shows FSD is available is the ticket

Rubix321 2026-02-13 02:37

If it was tied to the person, they couldn't hang a carrot in front of you to transfer it when you buy a new Tesla.

Rubix321 2026-02-13 02:39

I bet they simply will tell you it's not allowed to supercharge any more and won't let you trade it in later (and so also not transfer FSD). Wouldn't be surprised if they stop letting it use FSD too, but I'm not sure if that's also something they do to salvage cars.

Previous-Ride9671 2026-02-13 02:48

I wonder how Tesla would handle paid for FSD on a salvage title? My guess would be the FSD was paid to owner by insurance company and no FSD would transfer on salvage title

Ordinary-Cake8510 2026-02-13 02:52

Dude I’m in Tucson and now I wanna look at these. I would love to fix one of these and have a second tesla.

baloney90 2026-02-13 02:55

Can get the supercharging reinstated for a cool $1,500 (not that cool)

baloney90 2026-02-13 02:55

FSD stays with the car, salvage or not

Tradetheday2093 2026-02-13 02:59

Does it drive currently?

Tradetheday2093 2026-02-13 03:00

lol don’t spread FUD

satvision83 2026-02-13 03:06

Put a spoiler and you're good to go.

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 03:13

No it’s transfers over. This is my 100th Tesla lol

ctzn4 2026-02-13 03:14

That is just wrong. It says FSD included, not Autopilot, so it has FSD paid off.

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 03:14

Let me know. I buy them daily lol

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 03:16

No. Needs the suspension fixed first

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 03:17

100% correct. It has FSD

Previous-Ride9671 2026-02-13 03:21

That sure would make salvage titles valuable

slynas 2026-02-13 03:24

Fully Smashed Dinger

dankmemer999 2026-02-13 03:25

For 2.5k sure ig Id be scared of frame or battery pack damage Look how the doors wedged out and wheel turned inwards Ofc everyone else has mentioned it but you can never supercharge it either

wesblog 2026-02-13 03:28

They will be happy to take your $99/month for FSD after they remove it from the car for being a salvage title.

brayjr 2026-02-13 03:30

You can. Just need to pay $1,500 to get it inspected and reactivate supercharging.

Tradetheday2093 2026-02-13 03:32

Congratulations that you have the ability to fix it back to working condition again. Very cool. Great deal! How much do you think it will cost all in to be fixed?

Jaws12 2026-02-13 03:33

Once repaired, you can get supercharging reinstated if necessary for a $1500 inspection fee at a Service Center, assuming everything checks out.

NuttyFiber 2026-02-13 03:33

Do you buy another one for parts only to fix this one or do you go to junk yards to strip others?

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 03:35

It looks bad but it’s not that bad. These cars are built like legos lol I should have it fixed with parts around 7k all in.

Tradetheday2093 2026-02-13 03:37

daannng that is amazing! good luck man!

JonPorked 2026-02-13 03:39

2021s also have bad batteries, wouldn’t touch a salvage one.

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 03:40

Yes it stays. I’ve bought plenty and FSD has stayed with no issues. If looks bad but if really wasn’t lol https://preview.redd.it/3uxq33ain6jg1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=883accf44e8feda383dbd26877b3d5010f664079

rpkusuma 2026-02-13 03:45

I'd do this if I needed parts lol

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 03:49

Right! lol FSD worth more than the car 😂

EngineerCarNerdRun 2026-02-13 03:49

If you already have a high Milage model 3 that is out of warranty this would be a great parts car! Need a rear motor? ✅ need seats? ✅ battery? ✅ etc.

Tradetheday2093 2026-02-13 03:50

Beautiful

Balancedone_1 2026-02-13 03:53

Yup! We are going to see a lot of FSD post before Valentine’s Day

Lorenidus 2026-02-13 04:02

Like legos 🤣 that gave new good chuckle

South_Dakota_Boy 2026-02-13 04:08

Fixable small dents

CruzAndChill 2026-02-13 04:12

Damn where you based out of? I’ll need to hit you up if something happens to my Tesla

Bubbly_Sort849 2026-02-13 04:14

What auction site is this?

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 04:16

Copart. I’ve been buying there over 20 years lol

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 04:16

Los Angeles CA

Ordinary-Cake8510 2026-02-13 04:20

Can I like go and just kinda help fix them or something? I just wanna see the process more than anything.

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 04:22

I rebuild this one bc it will have value. I source parts from china, eBay, and local Dismantlers/junkyards

CruzAndChill 2026-02-13 04:22

Nice I’m not far, in Anaheim. Can I DM for your contact info?

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 04:23

I’m in LA area but it’s literally removing all the parts and replacing them. If I need the body straighten I take it to a shop and they fix it. These are great diy’s

Ordinary-Cake8510 2026-02-13 04:25

Damn. Well, one day I will hopefully give it a shot. It seems fun.

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 04:32

Yes. I’m on IG/TT on my bio

moeali024 2026-02-13 04:40

Depends on the car first one kept the fsd 2nd one lost it

Successful_Point_44 2026-02-13 04:48

Part it out. If the screen works, you’ve made back half your cost. Wheels and tires will get you over and everything else is cream

_father_time 2026-02-13 05:12

Jeez just throw the car away I guess

j12 2026-02-13 05:14

The good thing about the model 3 is that it’s as common as a Prius or Corolla all around the world. There are plenty of parts, and aftermarket parts of various quality. So rebuilding them is pretty easy

Prestigious_Dig_932 2026-02-13 05:54

great, will you show the progress of the repair somewhere (Reddit, YouTube, ig..)?

TigerXXVII 2026-02-13 05:55

That’s awesome. How do you handle situations where the battery needs replaced? Take it out and do it yourself?

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 06:10

Luckily I haven’t had that problem. Even on higher miles ones the HV battery running strong. I’ve seen how to remove it online and the write up, seems complicated but possible.

kyndsol 2026-02-13 06:41

I bought a salvaged 2020 Model 3 with FSD about two years ago and still have FSD. Supercharging worked for about 8+ months, then Tesla disabled it due to the salvage title. I paid for the inspection and got Supercharging re-enabled. No other issues since.

loafglenn 2026-02-13 06:53

After you fix it up, where can I buy?

Legitimate-Space-279 2026-02-13 06:55

Honestly FSD is whatever. Autopilot is more than enough.

Wild_Ant_7667 2026-02-13 07:54

I would swap in a hellcat engine smog free car

Thomas5020 2026-02-13 07:55

And this is exactly why regulations need to crush this anti-consumer behaviour. From a company claiming to lead the green revolution it is ridiculous that they do this.

bobby_ashfaq 2026-02-13 08:59

Im in the area! I may buy a Tesla from you in the future.

Outrageous-Sector-67 2026-02-13 09:56

Can back, mine stayed with the car. Whole reason I picked it, just wish resale had an actual impact

Conscious-Area1523 2026-02-13 10:31

You should do a rebuild thread with photos and updates etc

nosaO 2026-02-13 11:08

how much would you sell this for? i’m looking to buy. PM me?

Ordinary_River2445 2026-02-13 11:22

normally fsd stays with car except under 2 conditions that I know of. first is customer transfers fsd to a new car before old car gets totalled. a possible exception that gets car marked as totalled before salvage title is issued is if Tesla marks as totalled because they did repair estimate at sc or because car alerts tesla that air bags deployed.  2nd is tesla takes car back as lease return and strips fsd before sending car to auction.

fanstoyou 2026-02-13 11:59

it’ll be best for its parts

THATS_LEGIT_BRO 2026-02-13 12:29

Put it in rice.

THATS_LEGIT_BRO 2026-02-13 12:32

Maybe someone intentionally crashed it upon seeing a bms_a079.

homebrewedstuff 2026-02-13 12:50

The 3rd Tesla I bought (still have) was a salvaged 2019 Model 3 LR AWD. It was a single-owner car and paid off. Going through the insurance -> auction process never involved Tesla, and FSD wasn't removed. Supercharging was locked out, and the HV battery did have to be inspected by Tesla to get that back. I'm guessing this is what you'll encounter as well. FWIW, my salvage car only cost me $2700 in parts and painting! There was no structural damage behind the crush cans and the airbags never deployed. Factoring in what I paid at auction, plus shipping, plus parts..., I am barely into it for over $10k. I applaud you for putting this one back on the road and I hope that your experience is as good as mine has been.

Only_Indication8410 2026-02-13 14:11

Duct tape will fix that right up

goingfourtheone 2026-02-13 14:49

Where do you get parts for it?

hitman0187 2026-02-13 15:14

Is this something you could RHD swap? Lol

Imbetow 2026-02-13 15:33

I just bought a 2024 Model 3 from Copart in Phoenix for $9,900 plus taxes and fees. It doesn't need much work, but I think I overpaid. Also, the person who bought it for me has their account registered in Mexico, and the title said "for export only." I don't know what to do.

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 16:04

eBay, china, carpart for local Dismantlers

ThatUserIsInUse 2026-02-13 16:34

How do you even know it still works ? Do thr photos show something that might indicate its recoverable? Genuinely curious!

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 16:41

ha! Well if the screen turns on it should work. I already started removing parts and it powers on. Needs new pyro fuse to get it going and clearing codes. Little by little it’s coming along

davidrools 2026-02-13 17:23

Do you have to heave a dealership or manufacturer's license to flip cars over and over? I always thought it would be a cool side gig since I worked as a mechanic through high school and college, but now have a 9 to 5.

ThatUserIsInUse 2026-02-13 17:40

Thats awesome dude 👏

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 17:48

Most states allow 6 resells a year. Over that yes you need a license so the states get their cut too

Snow_Crab-Party 2026-02-13 17:50

FSD hack take computer form it put it on a working car. Bonus point for free superchargers. 🤔

Ar-556 2026-02-13 17:50

I did rebuild a car to but this is to much tbh lol the damage looks pretty bad to the actuators and radiator but aye brutha you do you man hopefully you get it goin looks good

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 18:14

For the price can’t beat it lol there’s better stuff out there for a bit more

W_town 2026-02-13 18:59

how much does it cost once you pay auction fees and shipping, and what does it usually take to get it working again?

FinancialMoney6969 2026-02-13 19:30

🤣🤣😭

YouKidsGetOffMyYard 2026-02-13 21:13

word-dragon 2026-02-13 22:58

Some duct tape to hold the frunk closed, and some rope to keep the bumper from falling off and you’re good to go.

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 23:14

Temp fix lol

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-13 23:15

Do you have this? I’m working on making my own chip lol

AimR2k 2026-02-14 00:08

brotha bought a chopped cheese lmak but i hope u fix it right

Rjeezyx 2026-02-14 00:17

Must be nice to live somewhere you can buy junk cars as a consumer without needing a dealer license or paying brokerage fees like half the US does.

eatbox_rn 2026-02-14 02:15

Yes, it allows me to supercharge my salvage now

HYtool 2026-02-14 02:17

Buy it and transfer the FSD to a new Tesla if it cost less than 3 or 4k

Enough_Construction8 2026-02-14 02:42

As an electronic Technician I  can understand the HV inspection but it shouldn't be $1500. Even complimentary maybe.

theotherharper 2026-02-14 02:42

Not just $1500: also fixing all the stuff that they inspect to assure the vehicle is in fit condition.

theotherharper 2026-02-14 02:43

Good question, they don't make it up on the fly, it's locked into written contracts. I don't have access to the contract you signed, but you do.

theotherharper 2026-02-14 02:48

Ok my first thought is that **you can now buy a 70 kWH battery for $2,550**. Holy hell do you realize how much that changes the world? [Ask Technology Connections](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtQ9nt2ZeGM&pp=0gcJCYcKAYcqIYzv). Make sure to stop watching when he rolls credits lol. Literally if you are building a rural homestead and the utility starts dropping $50,000 quotes to extend a pole line to your and install a site transformer for you, but you have a site fit for solar… you can tell em to go bag it. Average US home uses 29 kWH/day with no investments at all in efficiency. My second thought is that rebuilders in Ukraine and Lithuania usually go for these medium damage wrecks, so if they refused this car, there may be a reason you’ll be discovering.

dirtygpu 2026-02-14 02:49

atleast up to 8 grand. Well, technically is priceless now that buying FSD is gone

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-14 03:16

I’ve bough around 10 in the last month and Ukraine and Lithuania have not been bidding. They’ve been quiet lately lol

W_town 2026-02-14 03:28

I got to do this

It’s about $2k now, I just had it done. $1800 plus taxes and stuff.

Legendary_1978 2026-02-14 10:31

Buy and transfer fsd to a new vehicle then sell it to a scrap yard.

ValuableFickle 2026-02-14 12:45

Do you use Copart directly or are you buying through an agent?

Brendon7358 2026-02-14 14:38

Transfer FSD to a new car and repurpose the battery as a backup power for your house. Then part out the rest of it

Daviator23 2026-02-14 15:35

How can I get a hold of one?

SarcasticNotes 2026-02-14 16:00

Transfer to new car

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-14 17:02

pristine12345 2026-02-14 17:33

FoxFar4793 2026-02-14 23:11

This is a steal!! Copart?

TheGrandUnboxing 2026-02-15 00:18

This is not something they do with salvage titles. What the do is not allow a non-inspected HV battery charge at fast speeds. FSD isn’t even on the radar.

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-15 00:29

Yes

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-15 00:29

You got it on eBay?

baloney90 2026-02-15 00:56

https://www.toolfox.cc/product/toolfox-3/ Got it from this website, not sure if it’s legit or not but just to be safe I used a credit card. Got an email confirmation and everything so it looks semi legit

AD0AJ 2026-02-15 04:21

Ok, I'm dumb. So if a Tesla has been wrecked, you can't supercharge anymore? Or they disable your supercharging capabilities?

ZealousidealDraw4075 2026-02-15 10:02

I'm not sure how much fixing it would cost, im afraid it's more than a good model 3 with FSD

ebkbk 2026-02-15 11:02

It’s legit.

Jaowulf 2026-02-15 15:02

What website do you buy auctioned cars from?

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-15 15:16

Copart

YardieRebel 2026-02-15 16:25

😂😂😂

Noob911 2026-02-15 18:12

Half a dozen plus power walls right there

Noob911 2026-02-15 18:13

Bro, you gotta put a spoiler alert warning on your post

satvision83 2026-02-15 19:16

Hahaha. Good one. :)

Brainoad78 2026-02-16 00:00

They do that for supercharge they put a hold on it but once fixed you need to pay for a tesla battery inspection then if it passes they let you use it after it passes the inspection ... as far as the fsd I have never herd them disabling it.

LowIce7 2026-02-16 09:32

do you have the trip planner? does the car route you through superchargers?

Present_Adeptness470 2026-02-16 19:47

Some scotch tape will fix that right up 💪🏽

baloney90 2026-02-16 20:50

Yes, everything works except for when I try to plug the supercharging into the car, just says supercharging unavailable

Sir-putin 2026-02-16 21:01

You’re completely clueless. You can get it charging again for $20 with a lilygo board and some programming knowledge. Fsd is also free on hw3 if you have russian friends.

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-16 21:04

I’ll use some Elmers glue as well 😂

Secure_Baseball7318 2026-02-16 21:52

Why ???? Like we ain't got enough problems already.

Street-Friendship502 2026-02-17 06:26

Sick come up 👍

OrionZulu 2026-02-17 13:16

That's gonna be roughly 5k for new fenders, bumper cover, hood, sensors and pray the radiators are fine not to mention the bumper itself. Although ebay you might be able to find painted and good condition fenders used but it took me 2 months just to find one fender in my color that wasnt torn up. If the front suspension is chewed up (I just happened to price these parts out) its $90 for upper control arms, $170 ish for struts, the two lower control arms i think cost over $300 for the pair each wheel. Cant imagine tie rods and sway bar end links are terribly expensive. Shit while you're doing it just go for the highland suspension there plenty of videos on it now its the same price as pre highland struts so why not. And if for some reason you dont know you can go to teslas parts website for it all but I just put in a service request with the list of parts and they order em. The shipping costs from epc.tesla.com are outrageous.

farmerMac 2026-02-17 19:44

get the toolfox plug in tool for 500 and dont worry about that

Unlikely-Sympathy683 2026-02-18 20:51

Where you bid dont gatekeep lol

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-19 00:18

Copart

baloney90 2026-02-19 01:22

Just received it, quick install and supercharging now works. 10/10 can recommend getting it. Fast shipping too

Odd_Adagio_9650 2026-02-19 02:25

Let’s see how long it lasts. Seems odd that Tesla will take your supercharging money even though it’s not active lol did you go to a supercharger and it billed you?

baloney90 2026-02-19 03:54

So before when I tried to charge it would just say supercharging unavailable, it didn’t bill me obviously. After I installed the chip everything works as it’s supposed to, when you input directions to a supercharger it starts preheating the battery. just pull up to the supercharging station and I get billed once I finish charging. Funny enough under specs it still shows no access to supercharging network lol https://preview.redd.it/id44bzk6jdkg1.png?width=1320&format=png&auto=webp&s=72d52a1ae87ddd823e1daa2653264f05eab5946d
