FSD makes me feel like a thief.

San Rafael. Those were all illegal road maneuvers. Did you report it?

MinDuck98 2026-02-09 16:25

I reported it immediately afterwards.

Turbinator870 2026-02-09 16:30

Wow, that would have me puckered up and grasping for the wheel.

KilroyKSmith 2026-02-09 16:39

Which move was illegal?   Inconsiderate, rude, sure, but illegal?

--Racer-X-- 2026-02-09 16:52

Damn Mad Max drives like me lmao

AllCapNoBrake 2026-02-09 16:57

That's normal driving down here in PR.

jaqueh 2026-02-09 17:26

going over chevrons, but especially turning right from the middle lane that had a straight arrow?

No_Carpet_6575 2026-02-09 17:30

you’re a perfect example of why driver licenses need to be harder to get

shivelymachineworks 2026-02-09 17:31

That thing drives like it’s from Miami

KilroyKSmith 2026-02-09 17:33

In many states, crossing the chevrons marked with solid white lines isn’t illegal. The lane the car turned right from was marked in the roadway with both straight and right turn arrows (between 40 and 41 seconds)

jaqueh 2026-02-09 17:37

>The lane the car turned right from was marked in the roadway with both straight and right turn arrows (between 40 and 41 seconds) cool, it didn't turn from that lane. it turned from the 3rd lane to the right. again, crossing the gore area is illegal in california [https://abc30.com/post/driving-road-safety-chp-california-highway-patrol/11057655/](https://abc30.com/post/driving-road-safety-chp-california-highway-patrol/11057655/)

KilroyKSmith 2026-02-09 17:39

I asked a specific question - what was illegal.  Juvenile insults don’t do that.  Looking at it, perhaps it violated a California law by changing too many lanes too quickly.  Perhaps at 39 seconds it changed too closely in front of another car, if that’s illegal.  Perhaps crossing a white lined Chevron is illegal.  But perhaps none of those are illegal in California.

jaqueh 2026-02-09 17:41

>The lane the car turned right from was marked in the roadway with both straight and right turn arrows (between 40 and 41 seconds) you should watch the video again and specifically between those timestamps and eat crow

KilroyKSmith 2026-02-09 17:42

We’ll have to disagree on which lane it turned from; I saw it cross the Chevron and establish itself in the second lane before it turned right. Your link discusses gore points on freeways, which are different than surface streets.

Fonzie1225 2026-02-09 17:44

To be fair, that’s almost the worst-case scenario when it comes to confusing intersections and I think it handled it a lot better than most people would the first time… hell, I’d even call that graceful by MD standards

jaqueh 2026-02-09 17:45

>We’ll have to disagree on which lane it turned from; I saw it cross the Chevron and establish itself in the second lane before it turned right. which lane did it turn from 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and what marking is in that lane?

MagicJello 2026-02-09 17:46

I think I saw at least 3 things it did that yes are illegal moves.

jaqueh 2026-02-09 17:47

>Your link discusses gore points on freeways, which are different than surface streets doesn't matter. [https://www.cronisraelsandstark.com/cross-double-yellow-vehicle-code-21460#:\~:text=(b)%20If%20double%20parallel%20solid,this%20section%20or%20Section%2021655.8](https://www.cronisraelsandstark.com/cross-double-yellow-vehicle-code-21460#:~:text=(b)%20If%20double%20parallel%20solid,this%20section%20or%20Section%2021655.8) here's something you should learn about in your own state. [https://www.azcriminaltraffic.com/driving-through-a-gore-area-is-illegal](https://www.azcriminaltraffic.com/driving-through-a-gore-area-is-illegal)

No_Carpet_6575 2026-02-09 17:52

you’re proving my point that it should be harder to get a license

MindfulMan1984 2026-02-09 17:53

Bruh. lmao

BlueClaymore 2026-02-09 17:53

That’s wild

Godrillax 2026-02-09 17:54

It’s a guy in the Philippines driving remotely 👀

theycallmebekky 2026-02-09 18:00

Give up your license

KilroyKSmith 2026-02-09 18:02

Your first link describes PARALLEL double white lines, which these are not.  Yes, crossing the gore point on an Arizona highway is illegal.  That law was put in place after someone did do and killed a police officer in the gore point.  In Arizona, there gore point is on a highway at an on/off ramp, which this is not.

KilroyKSmith 2026-02-09 18:02

You still haven’t pointed out what was illegal in the state of California.

--Racer-X-- 2026-02-09 18:04

This is America. I can drive like a dickhead all i want.

KilroyKSmith 2026-02-09 18:05

Any specifics?

KilroyKSmith 2026-02-09 18:08

Numbering from the leftmost lane, it was in lane 2 with a through marker, crossed the Chevron into lane 3 with through/right turn markers, then turned right.   The question in my mind is, was it illegal to change from lane 2 to lane 3 at that point, considering all road markers were white?  Was it ill advised and terrible driving?  Sure, but was it illegal?

jaqueh 2026-02-09 18:08

What do you think chevrons are? They link parallel white lanes together. Ah this isn’t in a freeway on-ramp area?

KilroyKSmith 2026-02-09 18:09

There are no parallel white lines in that video.

jaqueh 2026-02-09 18:09

Numbering from leftmost they turned on lane 3….

KilroyKSmith 2026-02-09 18:10

We seem to be watching different videos.

No_Advisor_2331 2026-02-09 18:18

you’re just wrong.. every maneuver it made was objectively illegal.

No_Advisor_2331 2026-02-09 18:19

i truly hope this is a joke in reference to waymo..

dreoffive 2026-02-09 18:22

Yeah this some action movie hero sh!t

MagicJello 2026-02-09 18:26

I'm not sure about local laws but.. First - changing lanes in the middle of intersection Second - changing lanes over solid lines with chevrons Third - making a right turn from a lane that clearly indicates with paint on the road as straight only. Any one of these would get me pulled over in the couple states I've lived in.

No_Carpet_6575 2026-02-09 18:38

I’m not wasting my time, someone else already tried and it was evident with your original comment that you aren’t exactly a bright individual, this is my last reply to you, I hope you don’t cause a car crash in the future

tamroast 2026-02-09 18:48

This is why we can't have nice things

KilroyKSmith 2026-02-09 18:49

Yes, and lane three has a combined through/right turn indicator in the roadway....

mrandr01d 2026-02-09 18:50

How do you report these days? When I got my free trial I had to disengage to report iirc

MinDuck98 2026-02-09 18:56

Yup, I had to dissengage and push voice to report it.

KilroyKSmith 2026-02-09 18:58

First - not illegal in California (https://legalclarity.org/is-it-illegal-to-change-lanes-in-an-intersection-in-california/) Second - I still haven't seen a reference yet suggesting this is illegal. Third - IMHO, it established itself in the lane with through/right turn markers before it started it's right turn. But, this is a matter of opinion and the only one that matters would be the police officer writing a ticket.

Schnitzhole 2026-02-09 19:11

Wow it picked up all the tactics from crazy human drivers 🤣 Now if only i could turn on a mode where it forced itself into the lane it needs to be in earlier and more aggressively instead of missing exits in heavy traffic…

maester_t 2026-02-09 19:13

Question: How do you report incidents like this? Years ago, I used to log every tiny problem that happened (by saying "Report a Bug...").. Only to find out later from the service guys at the dealership that NONE of it actually gets reported back to Tesla. They told me the logs stay on the vehicle and are only visible to the technicians when they are servicing your vehicle. Or has that changed by now?

MagicJello 2026-02-09 19:16

For number two - Some quick Google search - The Painted Median (CVC § 21651) When you add chevrons (diagonal stripes) between the two sets of solid lines, the area is legally defined as a divided section or a painted median. Prohibition: Under CVC § 21651(a), it is unlawful to drive any vehicle "over, upon, or across" a dividing section that is at least two feet wide and delineated by double-parallel lines or other markings. The Intent: These chevrons typically indicate a "neutral zone" or "gore area" near freeway on/off-ramps or between high-speed lanes. They are designed to provide a safety buffer; driving over them is often cited as an unsafe lane change. For number 3. - I just don't see any way to rationalize that they are on any other lane than where they are when the turn started/intersection began. And the turn definitely started while they were solidly in the straight only lane. Having said that, it at least did all that without getting too close to others or cutting anyone off, in a relatively short amount of time to get where it needed to go, I'm still impressed it managed at all.

KilroyKSmith 2026-02-09 19:54

Now that is a definitive statement about the triangular shape; thank you.

rsg1234 2026-02-09 20:18

Mad Max is pretty aggressive but this is next level. I wouldn’t trust it in that area again.

Android_Z 2026-02-09 20:42

I’m from Miami and agree with this. Lol

shivelymachineworks 2026-02-09 20:58

Same here. I see it daily 😂

Mmscool 2026-02-09 21:07

Damnnn it's really earning that Title

thewolfman2010 2026-02-09 21:23

FYI Tesla and Waymo both use remote operators for unsupervised FSD when they encounter complex road scenarios.

origosis 2026-02-09 21:23

So I got a used Tesla a while back. And the previous owner never cleared the dash cam footage. They drove like this ALL the time. Constantly doing this crap. Honking at people for not letting them do shit illegally. (Thus all the dash cam footage.) I felt so bad for my car. Being owned by such a loser. I give it a better life now. Nice comfy full stops before right on red, double stops at stop signs, and nice wide left turns, giving traffic in the oncoming road I am turning into room on the road.

maddenforce 2026-02-09 21:23

Most accurate comment!

Gametme 2026-02-09 22:15

Lmfao!

wwwz 2026-02-09 22:23

Step 1: Place vehicle in farthest lane from imminent turn Step 2: Engage FSD maneuver superiority Step 3: profit Reddit karma

TheMindsEIyIe 2026-02-09 22:25

Source for Tesla? I know waymo admitted it to congress

TheMindsEIyIe 2026-02-09 22:26

As advertised

LawBig9564 2026-02-09 22:35

You tell’em gran-gran…

thewolfman2010 2026-02-09 22:49

VP of Tesla says they plan to increase the ratio of “safety monitors” while removing the in-ride supervisor as they transition to unsupervised rides. Mad Max from 14.1.2 was a thing of beauty. After neutering it to "mildly inconvenienced max", I'm glad it's now back up to "annoyed Max" at least.

Capable-Cup-9641 2026-02-10 00:43

I kind of love this lol. When I hear ‘mad max’ this is the kind of driving I expect. Yesterday on mad max it was going 83 in a 55, and the whole time I was thinking what will I say to the cop when I get pulled over 😂

Capable-Cup-9641 2026-02-10 00:43

I mean, what did you expect with a mode called ‘mad max’

HEYitsBIGS 2026-02-10 00:51

It has to be 🤣

rsg1234 2026-02-10 00:57

lol I got flipped off this weekend because of mad max’s lane weaving

MinDuck98 2026-02-10 01:03

I had absolutely no reason to do that; I had a whole hour before that, and everything was completely operated by FSD.

dragonovus 2026-02-10 01:03

Meanwhile Waymo has people in the Philippines doing the interventions on the cars… just imagine the lags

r1ght0n 2026-02-10 02:32

Hey did it miss its turn tho????

r1ght0n 2026-02-10 02:32

Hey did it miss its turn tho????

Frosty-Jeweler-4381 2026-02-10 02:56

Turn yourself in. You've been a naughty driver.

Jimgersnap 2026-02-10 04:01

I’ve noticed similar, albeit not as bad behavior using Mad Max and I’ve stopped using it and will continue to use Hurry for now. Just a little too Mad Max for me.

No_Advisor_2331 2026-02-10 04:12

that’s not what that means.. jesus.. 🤦‍♂️

KcTec90 2026-02-10 04:37

that's for robotaxi though not consumer fsd...

Brave-Ad-5364 2026-02-10 04:53

If in heavy traffic and you feel like it won’t get over soon enough in its current’ hurry’ mode, can you switch to mad max to get it moving?

bedel99 2026-02-10 04:56

This is the problem with training a car with real driving data.... people are idiots.

Background-Virus-129 2026-02-10 06:32

No one wanted to give you the pass it made its own path lol

lactoreuteri 2026-02-10 06:53

Why are you looking at their dashcam vids 👀👀 that in itself is kinda a shitty/nosey thing to do

Huso99_ 2026-02-10 09:04

Damn, so close to losing your license

TeslaModel3-ModTeam 2026-02-10 10:48

Act as you would in real life, or at least would like others to.

thewolfman2010 2026-02-10 15:30

Correct. Waymo does not sell consumer vehicles, so thought that was implied. Guess not… The original comment was a joke at Waymo for using remote drivers for their ride shares.

thewolfman2010 2026-02-10 15:33

It means that Tesla is also admitting to using remote drivers for their autonomous ride share service. This specific reply was about Waymo/Tesla using remote operators, not consumer fsd like OPs post. Sorry that you don’t understand.

Silly-Cantaloupe-653 2026-02-10 15:52

My bro in law works on the FsD project it 100% gets looked at. They will use it to adjust software..or teach the AI, whatever they do. Or take the techs and go recreate the situation.

KcTec90 2026-02-10 16:04

nice shrodingers douchebag lmao

thewolfman2010 2026-02-10 16:10

Can’t even spell, much less understand your own attempt at an insult. Big brain energy.

BadMotherThukker 2026-02-10 17:38

Not all heroes wear capes haha

origosis 2026-02-10 17:52

If I did not clear the footage. I would not care if someone watched it. Would be cool for someone to see what legally abiding driver I am.

Slayerz00m 2026-02-10 17:59

It's Mad Max after all But it shouldn't be doing anything illegal

Psice 2026-02-10 20:28

I don't like how Mad Max currently hugs the left lane until the very last moment; it's like it's trying to create "Mad Max moments" for no reason, lol. It does that on the highway, and that has caused it to miss the exit quite a few times with me. They need to train it to start moving over at least two miles before the exit. Now, it starts remembering to move over around 0.8 to 1 mile before on the highway, and that's too late. The same applies to other roads. I guess for now, standard mode does a better job because it doesn't try to hug the left.

Psice 2026-02-10 20:31

If you disengage, it asks you for the reason, and you can click on the mic button once (one short click) and then record a 15-second audio of why you disengaged. It's my understanding that this gets sent to Tesla when you connect your car to Wi-Fi.

MasterBai8tor 2026-02-10 22:49

YEEE DOWNTOWN SAN RAFAEL

mac10190 2026-02-10 23:55

LMAO so hard ![gif](giphy|g3EGlx4Nirz7q)

AllGasNoBrakes420 2026-02-11 00:36

that's kinda fucked up I can't wait til it kills someone

perezidentially 2026-02-11 03:35

Looks like it did this because the car next to you was accelerating with you ? Like it started to speed up but then didnt know what to do because the car next to you, was too? Lol.

x556 2026-02-11 04:03

I’m from PR, and I can’t wrap my head as to why this maneuver is so controversial.

No_Mechanic3377 2026-02-11 13:54

Wrong Tesla has stated that no Tesla has ever been able to be remote operated.

thaJack 2026-02-11 15:30

You can press the mic button and then say "bug report whatever whatever whatever"

PugMaster007 2026-02-12 15:15

More like an 80 yr old from Miami.. lol..

hess80 2026-02-17 07:46

100% it goes to Tesla

hess80 2026-02-17 08:17

It does go to Tesla. You are confusing two different things here. There’s “Bug Report,” and then there’s “Voice Drive Notes,” which is the prompt that pops up after you disengage FSD and press the mic button. They are not the same thing at all. The Voice Drive Notes are a real feedback channel that Tesla’s AI team actually uses. The old Bug Report voice command is the one that just saves to your car’s local logs for service to fix all non FSD problems. That’s it. They get mixed up constantly. Think about it for a second. What would reporting FSD mistakes only to your local service technician actually accomplish? They can’t change how FSD drives. Those improvements come from Tesla’s AI updates. Why would Tesla design a system that keeps your feedback trapped on the car and never sends it back to the team that actually builds FSD? That makes no sense. AI learns more when it has both voice and video than when it has video alone. Your description of what went wrong helps the system better understand the situation, so it can improve. I’m not saying someone is sitting in a room listening to every single voice note, but your statement and the video are both recorded and used to help train FSD. A Tesla AI engineer confirmed exactly this. https://www.notateslaapp.com/news/3426/tesla-ai-engineer-confirms-your-fsd-voice-notes-are-actually-heard How to report FSD mistakes https://www.notateslaapp.com/tesla-reference/1228/fsd-beta-v11-a-look-at-tesla-s-voice-drive-notes
