Finally joined the Tesla family!

Just picked up a 2023 M3 RWD yesterday. Been wanting an EV for a while now especially as a commuter vehicle. Finally pulled the trigger. Damn this car is so fun to drive. The regenerative braking took a little time to get use to but once you get the feel of it, one pedal driving feels great. Please let me know your thoughts on recommended accessories!

Love it! I have the same in Black. All weather floor mats, tint and console trays were my first add-ons

Definitely getting mine tinted soon! What % did you go with? I’m thinking either 15% or 20%

50% front windows, 35% rear, 20% Sunroof In Ohio 50% front is the legal limit https://preview.redd.it/cb2sdeg89dig1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=72c2927e56e894381ce873f2d9209af3572a773b

Other than the basics like window tint, center console trays, and lightweight all-weather floor mats …..Mud flaps! Big splat reduction on sides of car. Rechargeable tire pump. Headrest cushions (you’ll wonder why they don’t come stock). I got nice ones for $25 a pair on AliExpress. $8-$10 suede-like center console arm rest cover (AliExpress). Makes hot weather less sticky. Rear door sill stick on paint protectors. Especially important if you have kids, are the rear seat seat floor vent screens. Inexpensive and they pop on with Velcro. And because no one who’s never been in a Tesla can find the OPEN DOOR buttons, a two dollar pack of bright Open Door stickers that look OEM and solves the issue about 94% of the time!😎 My 2021 M3 https://preview.redd.it/c48516txxeig1.jpeg?width=3914&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ed8972dd5dfbdc65d2f8be7e0cca03dd42ed182f

What % is your tint and do you get pulled over much?

Crawdaddy-MktgGenius 2026-02-09 16:42

I don’t remember because any reputable tint place knows your state’s laws so I just had max allowed. Usually front door windows can’t be as dark as rest of windows. Just side windows and rear. You can do clear windshield tint and because the modern stuff is ceramic, it still dramatically reduces heat, but it was almost as much to do windshield as job for rest of the windows! California regs: Front Side Windows (Driver & Passenger) •Must allow at least 70% of light into the vehicle (70% VLT). •That means tint must be very light — darker films like 35%, 20%, or limo 5% are not legal on these windows Only “Visor tint” allowed on windshield and dark as you want rest of windows.

I just got the white one too back in November. A 2023. It only had 11,500 miles on it! Was in brand new condition. I LOVE driving it! Floor mats were necessary with winter snow weather here and I love them. We installed the home charger. Game changer. My husband is an electrician so that saved us about $2300 install costs (it could be as low as $1200 install if the location you’re installing it at is right above the elec box. LOL But ours was on the opposite corner of the house so my husband had to do a lot to conduit it over professionally, and he told me it would have cost around $2300 if someone paid for his work.) Still worth it even if you have to pay. My charging for the past two weeks of driving every day has only cost $8 ! My city is only 10¢ kWh round the clock. I’ll post a pic in a reply to this post. I’m in love with my car and how smooth she drives. Tip: make sure to update the software asap. The first two weeks we owned ours the charge dropped enormously after just one drive and lost 20-30% per day. I turned off sentry when parked in our garage but it still lost charge even when just parked. We were told that when it’s not driven it would lose about 1% per day, but after being parked for 5 days it lost over 70%. I contacted service and they gave me some spiel that it will lose more in cold winter weather areas. I objected that it would be that much more but they said it was. The very next week we updated the software and wallah! Suddenly, and ever since, it only loses 1% per parked day, if even that, and it’s been 30° colder than the first two weeks. So service was wrong. It was a software issue. Now my battery lasts when not being driven and doesn’t lose as much after a drive. Update your software! https://preview.redd.it/55w1694yyoig1.jpeg?width=936&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c96065653e00155ceb6b0191d0e99220961ee206
