> Maaco paint job I may or may not know exactly what you mean b/c I was a poor in my late teens/early twenties and it was either a questionable Maaco paint job (which had a "wArRaNtY"), the perpetual DIY black primer paint job, or nature's paint job (rust) for my ol' CRX Si 😅
Yea maaco was a really cheap and crappy paint job back in the day. I’m not even sure if they still exist but it used to cost like 200$ to paint a whole car. You could be sure it would start to peel in a short amount of time. 🤣
Friend of mine had a Honda CRX back in the day. He decided to fix some scratches by getting a cheap Maaco paint job, which included the lower black panels. When he went to sell it, the questions he got was "why the paint job? Was it in an accident?"
Yep, just paint prep takes a lot of effort. I’ve had some professional jobs done over the years and it’s expensive because it takes so long when done right.
Back in my day the word on the street was you could get an okay paint job from maaco as long as you did the prep yourself. Not sure how true that is, I never took the risk. Granted, a lot of the work IS the prep, but OTOH some skill with a paint gun is valuable too.
Never heard of anyone doing that who wasn’t working in the paint industry already but seems reasonable if you’re skilled at that kind of thing but after all that work, I couldn’t imagine going to Maaco for paint. 🙄
Gross. Where can I get one??
Why'd you only post half the car lol
You know I was trying to get a close up of that ultra red paint label lol. You arent missing much 😂
