What happens to old Tesla once FSD is removed

You can buy a new Tesla and transfer the FSD what happens to the old Tesla. Does it still keep autopilot or it gets downgraded to cruise control

it goes to autopilot

Well, to be clear, as far as anybody knows, it goes to whatever the included base configuration was on that car at the time when it was sold. For almost all Teslas, that would be Autopilot. But presumably on new base models that only come with TACC standard, and no Autopilot included, if you bought one of those today and paid for FSD in full (before the "subscription only" cutoff), and later transferred it off, it would probably downgrade it back to TACC only, not Autopilot.

So if I have say a 2020 M3 with FSD and I buy a 2026 MY I can transfer the FSD to the Y and the M3 will go back to Autopilot correct? Oh and thanks for your response.

Correct. Because in 2020, every model 3 came with Autopilot included for free.

Ok good to know thanks so much... now I just need to be able to pull the trigger in the next 10 days lol

It just might retrace all of your FSD trips backwards.

Even my 2018 got autopilot which was not standard when the car was new.
