'25 M3P downsize to 245/40/19 square

Curious on people's feedback about handing and dynamics being not neutral if you downsize from the factory size. I've been thinking about going with Martian MW08 squares in that size to help with pothole protection (which I just had to replace the rear 275/30/20). I already know it'll be 0.2 seconds slower at most to 60 but I haven't seen people talk about driving dynamics. What are people's experiences and thoughts.

That is probably the only size upgrade I would consider but for me it would be to move up from 18” photons. I don’t have many potholes near me or I should say it’s very rare to see one but my 18’s are so comfy on everything that it’s still a big debate for me lol. You will preserve the same over all wheel diameter, your speed readings and original fitment which is why I am considering it. I highly recommend 18’s with factory spec tires if all you care about is comfort, it feels fantastic. I couldn’t stand the 20’s with thin tires while driving a few performance models so far even on relatively decent roads.

I went from 20s in my 2020 to 19’s and it rides fantastic. Also running 245/40/19.

I did not have a great experience with martian for my Y, I'll be keeping my 20's on the 3 and go to a wider tire front and rear. A cheaper option, konig seems somewhat popular for the autoX guys.

I have 235/40/19 for my "winter" set on my 2025 M3P. They're actually Crossclimate 2's. They're a little narrower which should help the efficiency a tad. Still has plenty of grip but I try to stay out of insane mode with them.

What was the bad experience? This would be my only set so I won't be autox

Didn't respond to any contact before product arrived. Wheels arrived with damage to the finish and I still have not had a response or a resolution of any kind. But it's only been a couple months, maybe they're just backed up. /s

I daily mine in insane mode. How's the handling and throttling out of corners and any spirited driving with the 235s?

From what I understand, a lot of people prefer the 18s. More sidewall helps with road noise and comfort.

I also run 245/35R20 square on my 21 m3p

I too have 235/40/19 for my winter set. I don’t have much input on dynamics though since I don’t really push my winter tires as i want them to last. I will tell you though, the rear end view looks clownish compared to those 275’s that come on it. Can’t wait to put mine back on when winter is over. So if looks matter make sure you consider that.
