This is a side by side of our 2022 and our new 2026.

abusivepach | 2026-02-01 00:28 | 417 views

The 2022 just sold, and we are sad to see her go. It is amazing how little maintenance expenses we have had owning a Tesla. Virtually no cost except for a new windshield.

Both are very nice. No major issues with the older one?

Plastic-Coat9014 2026-02-01 00:51

I like the 2022 exterior better. But the new one is better in every other way 😍

Worried_Produce_1046 2026-02-01 00:54

I despise the new look.. the 2022 is so slick..

imightgetdownvoted 2026-02-01 00:54

Why not just keep the 2022?

[deleted] 2026-02-01 00:56

[deleted]

FedRP24 2026-02-01 01:04

New look is certainly better

FedRP24 2026-02-01 01:04

Nice duo

FedRP24 2026-02-01 01:05

I mean essentially everything about a 26 is better than

imightgetdownvoted 2026-02-01 01:07

Sure, but absolutely not worth the 10’s of thousands of dollars for the upgrade if you already have a ‘22.

Worried_Produce_1046 2026-02-01 01:07

Yeah.. ok... they look like a.box.. but hope you enjoy!

CapnPositivity 2026-02-01 01:08

I certainly like the new ones, but I always liked the duck face of the old one

GooseIntelligent4084 2026-02-01 01:15

What lip is that??

abusivepach 2026-02-01 01:15

Nothing major, had a navigation issue, but Tesla fixed it with no issues.

RobertDSlagger 2026-02-01 01:16

Thats a wild take

abusivepach 2026-02-01 01:17

The main reason was some of the incentives. Payment went down, and got a new vehicle with a lower payment. Transferred our FSD, so it saves us some money.

abusivepach 2026-02-01 01:18

I beg to differ, the seats of the new 2026 are 100 percent better.

ForeverMinute7479 2026-02-01 01:23

Get the Tesla window insurance before you get a blemish in the new one!

ForeverMinute7479 2026-02-01 01:24

It’s HW3

AdLogical7537 2026-02-01 01:26

happy to see the dude from same state

ms2496 2026-02-01 01:29

Red for the win!

FedRP24 2026-02-01 01:30

I mean, probably is. My brother has a 22 and I have a 25. I'd pay like 15k more for mine probably

FedRP24 2026-02-01 01:30

Less bubble and more hard lined features, yeah. I think most people like that. Looks much more modern.

NiceTop8479 2026-02-01 01:32

I can't believe how similar the '22 red multi-coat and the '26 Ultra Red look in the video. They must look different irl though right? From what I've seen the Ultra Red is 🔥

Armaced 2026-02-01 01:35

I approve of bias towards one’s own vehicle.

scohen158 2026-02-01 01:39

It’s a good thing look of a car is subjective. I personally wouldn’t buy the old Model 3 as I never liked essentially anything about how it looked. That said I’m the proud owner of a 2025 M3P and love how it looks.

abusivepach 2026-02-01 01:40

Yes, there is a big difference. Love the new ultra red!

scohen158 2026-02-01 01:41

Agree 100%. I’m also a biased highland owner but for myself it took the change for me to even consider the car as I disliked the look of the old one that much.

abusivepach 2026-02-01 01:41

Purchased it off of Amazon. Looks carbon fiber, but it is a print. Has held up well.

Worried_Produce_1046 2026-02-01 01:42

Yeah, 22 looks much more sporty.. the 25/26 look like.a box/spaceship

Feisty_Crab7052 2026-02-01 01:43

Remove the bias, they’re the same.

scohen158 2026-02-01 01:50

That’s your opinion I think until 2024 the Model 3 was not a good looking car. That’s my opinion. Not sure how you get more sporty from a 22 but it’s ok if you believe so.

Worried_Produce_1046 2026-02-01 01:53

Ones a box, ones not.. simple 🤦‍♂️

Desperate-Review-727 2026-02-01 01:57

They are not at all the same lol.

scohen158 2026-02-01 01:58

Box? You’d have to explain how you get that. I see an aggressive, looking sports sedan compared to an egg with a duck bill for the old model.

mmMOUF 2026-02-01 02:00

I couldn’t wait to get my highland back when I had a older model loaner, drive quality was pretty stark for the same car

Worried_Produce_1046 2026-02-01 02:03

Just compare both rears... one is slim and sporty, the other is huge and boxy 🤦‍♂️... its not hard to see..

julianpoy 2026-02-01 02:13

That's what he said

Worried_Produce_1046 2026-02-01 02:15

Just look at both rears ends... but you do you, and enjoy it

Counting-Tiles4567 2026-02-01 02:15

Agreed. [That highland look tho](https://www.google.com/search?q=oshkosh+usps+trucks&client=ms-android-google&hs=64v9&sca_esv=39c0a63f3009a15b&udm=2&biw=411&bih=759&aic=0&sxsrf=ANbL-n5whG1L2V6hUaIHmM0-RYPxpPD7tw%3A1769911960946&ei=mLZ-acexOc615NoPz6_NgQQ&oq=oshkosh+usps+trucks&gs_lp=EhJtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1pbWciE29zaGtvc2ggdXNwcyB0cnVja3MyBhAAGAcYHjIFEAAYgAQyBhAAGAUYHjIGEAAYCBgeMgYQABgIGB5IsypQiBFYmSdwAHgAkAEAmAF4oAHvCqoBBDE2LjG4AQPIAQD4AQGYAgqgAsgHwgIEEAAYHsICCBAAGKIEGIkFwgIIEAAYgAQYogTCAgoQABiABBhDGIoFwgIHEAAYgAQYDcICCBAAGAcYCBgemAMA4gMFEgExIECSBwM2LjSgB9Q8sgcDNi40uAfIB8IHBTItMS45yAd2gAgA&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-img)

Feisty_Crab7052 2026-02-01 02:16

lol. Ok. 😂

Parking_Afternoon159 2026-02-01 02:17

did you get the 22 trade in? and how much for that? thanks.

Psice 2026-02-01 02:29

The new one looks so much better imo, Tesla did an incredible job with the design of the model 3 highland

Appropriate-Shock306 2026-02-01 02:29

Legacy Model 3 FTW, in my book.

wasdesc 2026-02-01 02:30

I like the 2022 look better as well, the highland model looks eh to me to be quite honest, but honestly maybe that’s just because I’m used to how the “older” models look like.

scohen158 2026-02-01 02:32

Interesting I feel from the rear is where the 2022 and 2024+ look the most similar. Exactly enjoy your ride.

Away-Scar7754 2026-02-01 02:48

Sexy

pinegap96 2026-02-01 02:48

The headlights are definitely better on the 2022 but that’s about it. Both great cars. The new model 3 is a huge improvement in fit and finish

DistanceSolar1449 2026-02-01 02:58

It’s more like a $20-25k difference

LokiRoastin 2026-02-01 03:08

You should beg for some better reading comprehension my friend. 🤣

dnguyen823 2026-02-01 03:11

Damn you got the performance? Rich!

PaperOrPlastic34 2026-02-01 03:16

How many miles were on the 22’?

Sweatpantzzzz 2026-02-01 03:20

Nice video. I like the exterior of my 2023, mostly the front (and the stalks and steering wheel) but I like the rear and the seats of the newer one.

abusivepach 2026-02-01 03:36

It has 33900.

Odd-Lunch7558 2026-02-01 03:45

The headlights on the previous gen looks way more cooler. Everything else looks good on the new one.

Turbulent-Abroad7841 2026-02-01 04:02

Honestly after driving the new 3 performance its a whole different driving experience from the old 3. Especially comfort and road noise

Enough_Law6797 2026-02-01 04:13

I can't tell which is which.

Puzzleheaded-Race671 2026-02-01 04:38

The old gen headlights look very Porsche E especially at night time

Puzzleheaded-Race671 2026-02-01 04:39

The highland looks super hatchbacky hot hatch hustler type of car which is both cool and not cool. The old one looks like a baby panemera

aranea100 2026-02-01 04:41

Does the new one come with autopilot?

IllustriousPlenty 2026-02-01 05:00

same

SuicideG-59 2026-02-01 05:08

I bought a used 2022 in cash last year and I would do it. I want that hw4 with those hw4 updates

FreedomToCreate 2026-02-01 05:28

How much depreciation did you eat to get the new one?

Lordsheva 2026-02-01 05:35

And you did not consider the idea that you are adding more debt? Americans are so lol 🤣

rjcarr 2026-02-01 05:40

Right? Instead of paying $625 per month for 1 more year I'm paying $550 per month for 4 more years. How could I pass that up?

rjcarr 2026-02-01 05:41

Yeah, as an owner of a last gen, I sorta prefer my front end but like the new back end better.

CapnPositivity 2026-02-01 05:45

Yeah I think I agree with that too

Kernkraft3000 2026-02-01 05:53

2022 allways

Waste-Magician2432 2026-02-01 06:18

AWESOME!!!

PocketShock 2026-02-01 06:20

I still like the look of the old one. 🤷‍♂️

Nick6468 2026-02-01 07:08

Red with black seats is what I would get. I want this car so badly! Must be so fun to drive

Ok_Individual4716 2026-02-01 07:09

Actually, most people like cars with curves than cars with sharp edges. A car that has curves psychologically feels natural, aesthetic and more “comfortable.” While a car with sharp edges feels more aggressive, sporty, and more of a high-performance car. From a Tesla design point of view, the angular facelift makes sense because an angular car has a more modern look than a curvy car. But that doesn’t change that a majority of people like a more natural curvy look

FastRedPonyCar 2026-02-01 07:32

Exactly. I went from a 2020 M3P to a 2025 and quite literally everything is better https://i.imgur.com/u6ZiIkl.jpeg

Zazzely 2026-02-01 07:36

Of course when you only have the car for 4 years. LOL. Hold it for 15 - 20 years, and come back, and see what all can break, and how expensive it is.

Internal-Mushroom-76 2026-02-01 07:47

hw4?

Internal-Mushroom-76 2026-02-01 07:48

like what? i have a 2021. whats the difference?

FedRP24 2026-02-01 07:53

It's not. Those are numbers you have completely pulled out of your ass and have no semblance in reality

FedRP24 2026-02-01 07:54

Ok right right. I guess that explains why Tesla sales went down after the model 3 refresh Wait....

FedRP24 2026-02-01 07:58

Literally every aspect of the interior and exterior. Like, literally every area. The suspension. The motor. The range. The sound proofing. Hard to quantify how important this is, but the FSD hardware. The steering wheel.

Ok_Individual4716 2026-02-01 08:02

I highly doubt people scrambled to get the latest model 3 for the sole reason that it got a facelift. Almost like there was a tax credit that skewed the results

FedRP24 2026-02-01 08:04

As someone who purchased a refreshed model 3, I can assure you that people were much more likely to purchase a vehicle that got upgraded in every single category over one that was years outdated. Not exactly a crazy concept

bphase 2026-02-01 08:18

I did 22P to 26P as well. For me it was the 0% APR deal we had, reintroduction of stalks, bigger battery. Better suspension, less noise etc. were of importance as well. Oh and my warranty was running out so it's nice having that peace of mind.

Ok_Individual4716 2026-02-01 08:18

Well yeah but the timing of the refreshed car along with the tax credit is what really boosted the sales. Most people don’t just wait for a refreshed car or a certain product to drop, but to also get a good deal/incentive on it so even though the refresh did help get new buyers into the doors, that alone wasn’t going to boost the sales. This was proven by the fact that before the tax credit, all EV sales were slumping especially teslas. And even until the tax credit was announced to end, many people were taking advantage of it buying EVs at the last minute.

DistanceSolar1449 2026-02-01 08:23

lol 2022 Model 3 Long Range AWD $22-25k https://www.kbb.com/tesla/model-3/2022/long-range-sedan-4d/?vehicleid=458117&mileage=30000&intent=trade-in-sell&pricetype=private-party&condition=good New Model 3 Long Range AWD $47k https://www.tesla.com/model3/design#overview That’s a $25k difference right there to trade up to a new one. The 2022 Long Range is only in the low $20ks price range now.

SuicideG-59 2026-02-01 08:57

Yes. 80% of my driving is done through FSD so having the newer hardware would be nice

Every_Tap8117 2026-02-01 09:52

Can you please link the LIP for the 22 M3P looks sick.

TapiocaFish 2026-02-01 10:40

Which is essentially what op said

Impossible_Ad_8642 2026-02-01 11:21

Lol @ the math!

abusivepach 2026-02-01 12:13

This is not the exact one, but it is similar. I have had the front lip since 2022, and I can't find the exact replacement. https://ebay.us/m/5wn1y6

stilllearning02 2026-02-01 12:34

I wish the model y had these lights.

Vegetable_Pirate_702 2026-02-01 13:56

Honestly I feel the newer interior is a downgrade sure the led is cool but everything else got simpler. Less sleak no more wrap around dash look. Less mixing of materials makes it visually less interesting.

Rob-A4 2026-02-01 14:59

Cool how would I ever know what the inside of one of these look like without your video?

abusivepach 2026-02-01 15:33

If you haven't sat in the new seats of the 2026, you are missing out. That was a big factor in us upgrading to the 2026.

abusivepach 2026-02-01 15:35

But roll into the fact I didn't have to visit a gas station, or change oil. It is pretty awesome.

abusivepach 2026-02-01 15:36

Paid for the 2022 around $60k, sold for $27k.

abusivepach 2026-02-01 15:38

Not sure I understand your question, but I didn't trade in, I sold outright. I got about 5k more than what Tesla offered me.

FedRP24 2026-02-01 15:50

If it has 70,000 miles, sure. A 30k mile 2022 is 26k+. Just shopped them for weeks and then bought one. I would know.

Every_Tap8117 2026-02-01 15:59

Thanks close but def looking that one. All the ones i see ride high on the wheel arch.

EddieLivesOn 2026-02-01 16:21

Is the cabin sound/insulation that much better in a juniper? Considering a 2022 but this aspects worries me the most.

rjcarr 2026-02-01 16:38

Yeah, from what I’ve heard, the Highland and Juniper are both much better made.

Schnitzhole 2026-02-01 16:41

I was on the fence getting my Model Y 2026 last august or Getting a cheaper model with HW3. Im glad i went with HW4 as its been a gamechager, especially since v14 came out a few months after. My wife uses FSD 100% of the time and we both feel safer with her using it than driving manually (she is self admittedly not a very aware driver). I use FSD 80% of my drives and it takes the slog out of daily commutes in traffic and I suffer from being easily road raged and this helps a lot with that too as the car is really good at avoiding idiots on the road and it has infinite patience unlike me.

dap00man 2026-02-01 18:04

With the 2021 to 2023 model 3, looks like it has the Aston Martin/ Ford fusion nose, while the 2024 to 2026 highland model 3 looks like an f430, which I love both...

abusivepach 2026-02-01 18:20

I found it. https://a.co/d/ilm3qO8

MrGoogle87 2026-02-01 19:42

22 is better

abusivepach 2026-02-01 20:05

Here it is. https://a.co/d/eeqT5Hi

aenima1991 2026-02-01 20:59

There’s zero chance buying a new car saves you money what

DistanceSolar1449 2026-02-01 22:19

You realize the mileage is listed on the link above? Here’s a list of actual cars for sale. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/all-cars/2022/tesla/model-3/beverly-hills-ca?mileage=30000&searchRadius=0&sortBy=derivedpriceASC&vehicleHistoryType=NO_ACCIDENTS

fanstoyou 2026-02-01 23:33

Prefer the older version look because it doesn’t conform

FreedomToCreate 2026-02-02 06:41

Whatever helps you sleep at night

Apart_Following_1005 2026-02-02 11:53

Are the black emblems on the Highland OEM or aftermarket?

Creepy-Internet6652 2026-02-02 14:35

I would switch between the 2...I dont know why they seem to get uglier..

TxTransplant72 2026-02-02 14:38

Wish there was a front end swap available. I still prefer the Porsche-style lights but of course everything else is better on the new model.

Magexbane 2026-02-02 15:01

So many comments here but the average casual thinks they’re the exact same car and they can’t tell the difference. My parents can never tell.

abusivepach 2026-02-02 15:49

They are standard on the 2026

tomtendo 2026-02-02 17:05

Oh wow I've never seen the side by side... /s

lolitsivan 2026-02-02 20:47

Does the 2026 come with basic autopilot?

abusivepach 2026-02-02 21:06

I would assume yes, we have full FSD that we transferred from our 2022.

Suvi2k 2026-02-02 21:19

Certain parts of the old exterior are better while certain aren’t imo. I like the new headlight and tail light design but looks are subjective anyway.

Nasarescue 2026-02-03 00:10

22 looks way better.

word-dragon 2026-02-03 11:12

For me (2020 to 2025), it was mostly the warranty - had one HV battery replaced after 4 years and my battery warranty was expiring - HW4, quieter ride, better sound system. Plus I got 0% financing and could transfer FSD.

Electronic-Chapter94 2026-02-03 23:58

Wait for the suspension issues

Ok_Increase5843 2026-02-04 18:48

That was already the news by the end of 2023, right?

ihateu3 2026-02-05 17:49

Around what mileage do they start showing up? What issues did you have?

ihateu3 2026-02-05 17:50

I have a 23P but I thought the range is pretty much close to the same, so not sure if the bigger battery really is a selling point?

Popular-Jello9539 2026-02-05 17:55

How can you argue they’re the same? They’re very different. Did you not realize it’s an entirely different generation? Or you’re looking at it like “they both have four wheels” type of stupid perspective?

bikrathor 2026-02-05 18:15

Liked the new headlights

bikrathor 2026-02-05 18:15

Must be blind

Feisty_Crab7052 2026-02-05 21:04

I am okay with the average person not knowing the difference. The people that do know,,,, know.

Agree but think 2026 is the same as 2024/2025.
