Yokeee

AwareAd3960 | 2026-01-30 12:41 | 94 views

I’ve been looking at a yoke for my 25 M3 and so far it’s been really nice. It took a little bit to get used to but i like the looks and experience a lot more compared to the full steering wheel.

Thought it would be impractical based off all the hate it gets from the community but its easy to drive. Feels very nice and gives the vehicle a race car/spaceship type vibe.

highongp10 2026-01-30 12:58

Dude, put your fucking shoes on or remove them from your breakpedal

BowsZilla 2026-01-30 13:17

Nice one ! Where did you get it ? I’m looking to change mine as well

Kandrich 2026-01-30 13:30

I want to do this with my 26 M3 but I’m too paranoid it will void warranties / something will mess up.

[deleted] 2026-01-30 13:40

That looks sick! Very Cyberpunk!

sk93q 2026-01-30 13:46

It's original from S/Y models? where did you buy it?

PugMaster007 2026-01-30 13:55

I like it, but more importantly is that YOU like it. I don't know if I'd want one in my MYP personally as I like the standard steering wheel, but I think it's awesome that we live in a time and technology age that allows us to personalize things like this in our vehicles, which are so much an extension of who we are as individuals.. IMHO..

malkauns 2026-01-30 14:07

woke up on the wrong side of bed?

ipokesnails 2026-01-30 14:20

Oh wow, you'd have to be a special kind of genius to remove your shoes and leave them sitting loose beside the pedals as you drive.

ipokesnails 2026-01-30 14:24

> Yokeee I've always been curious about people who add letters to the end of words like this. Are you just trying to emphasize the word yoke? Because adding e's to the end makes this pronounced "Yokey".

BrownRogue 2026-01-30 14:26

Curious: Warranty is not void with this change??

Suvi2k 2026-01-30 14:31

Honest opinion, appreciate it. I also keep reading how much hate it gets and it puts me off. I really like the looks and improved visibility but am worried about functionality. I do like holding the top and bottom of my normal wheel. Good to know you like it.

justinj627 2026-01-30 14:46

Warranties only voided on the pieces you mess with, not the whole vehicle

rahiq 2026-01-30 14:53

They aren’t on the brake pedal, they are on the left foot rest

highongp10 2026-01-30 14:59

No shit.

RoutineJackfruit4692 2026-01-30 15:00

Somebody didn’t get breakfast

RoutineJackfruit4692 2026-01-30 15:02

Interestingly, usually they intend for you to extend the center letter when it’s typed like this, more like “yoooooke”.

justinj627 2026-01-30 15:04

I was the same way but after a couple days you get used to it. It does get dodgy in crowded parking garages

PhoenixS7 2026-01-30 15:32

Is this aftermarket or can you order OEM from Tesla?

BuddyTheShihTzu 2026-01-30 15:42

it wont, very easy to do your self

BuddyTheShihTzu 2026-01-30 15:44

FunkHavoc 2026-01-30 15:46

Asking the real questions this morning

Omacrontron 2026-01-30 15:51

This is why I come to Reddit

allofdarknessin1 2026-01-30 16:04

I've been looking for one too. I don't have a turning stalk and I don't want one. I want everything on the wheel as is. Any recommendations for one like this?

whitemiketyson 2026-01-30 16:08

They’re in a parking lot but I sure hope they don’t drive around like that

starkiller_bass 2026-01-30 16:53

At least in the USA, there is no such thing as a "voided warranty" They can refuse to cover any damage caused by the modifications that you make, but there is no single action you can take that invalidates the whole warranty on a car.

offwing10 2026-01-30 17:25

They’re parked 😂

MapleQuasar 2026-01-30 17:28

Lol don't do it. It's a model 3. It's not like a Model X. It feela crazy dumb using one. It's like 2+ full rotations to turn a corner and then all the way back. Just keep the normal wheel 😂

Scary-Animator-5646 2026-01-30 17:40

It’s very comfortable once you get used to it.

electricshadow 2026-01-30 17:57

The only way I'd get a yoke is if the Model 3 had steering like the Cybertruck. Having to cross your hands over one another seems like a real pain. But, it's your car so as long as you like it, OP, that's what matters.

redgaze30 2026-01-30 18:48

Looks nice and OEM. Dets OP, been thinking of getting one for the longest.

sonofabraham1 2026-01-30 19:06

How much did it cost to retrofit that

Suvi2k 2026-01-30 19:10

Looks like a pretty simple diy from YouTube videos. Most places quoted me around 250$

sonofabraham1 2026-01-30 19:11

$250 is not bad at all.

mrandr01d 2026-01-30 19:29

I finally feel sane.

BadMotherThukker 2026-01-30 19:30

I love mine.

justinj627 2026-01-30 19:48

I paid around 250 and did it my self. Took me about 2 hours

-eccentric- 2026-01-30 19:49

> It's like 2+ full rotations to turn a corner Did they nerf the steering wheel on the highland? My preland only does one full turn in each direction.

Reggiehinton 2026-01-30 19:52

What brand did you go with? and did you get the plug and play…or did you have to transfer the old buttons and wires???

SunofaBaker 2026-01-30 20:06

Anywhere I can find a rounder yoke? I like the heads-up visibility but hate when you make a hard turn and have to let go and let it center

Suvi2k 2026-01-30 21:16

Diy or $150 for about 1 hour (supposedly 15-30 min of work) is better

AwareAd3960 2026-01-30 21:54

I’m parked bruh

AwareAd3960 2026-01-30 22:07

https://a.co/d/fTKpP2q I bought it off Amazon and this looked reputable and it’s the one that you take out all the plugs and bolts and reattach it to the new one

AwareAd3960 2026-01-30 22:08

I was really debating getting the cybertruck one but it I like the yoke better, maybe in the future but the cybertruck one is great

AwareAd3960 2026-01-30 22:10

https://a.co/d/fTKpP2q I got this one off Amazon and it’s been great to so far, I’m not sure if it’s me or the yoke but I noticed that the heating takes a little longer, not sure if it’s cuz it just takes longer in general for this wheel or it’s just like that

AwareAd3960 2026-01-30 22:12

https://a.co/d/fTKpP2q Aftermarket because OEM is too expensive. I was gonna buy one in the $270-300 range from EVBASE, Tesla launch etc but I kept seeing it’s that on its the same ones from different places just upped in price to brand or something so I got it off amazon for $170

AwareAd3960 2026-01-30 22:14

It looks great but it really depends on the persons driving habit, I drive 90% of the time on the lower left, 7/8 position one handed and guide the turns with my hands instead of crossing but it gets easier after a while

AwareAd3960 2026-01-30 22:15

It’s not OEM because it would’ve been too expensive and was quoted $680 for yoke and install, I bought this one off Amazon and it’s probably the exact same. https://a.co/d/fTKpP2q

AwareAd3960 2026-01-30 22:17

https://a.co/d/fTKpP2q I got it off Amazon and it’s not crazy expensive so you don’t have to break the bank if you decide to try it.

AwareAd3960 2026-01-30 22:19

It’s crocs bruh and I push them back so they don’t get in the way, never had issues as they don’t get in the way

AwareAd3960 2026-01-30 22:19

Yoookeeee

sk93q 2026-01-30 22:20

Damn, genius! To buy only frame instead of full steering wheel xD

ipokesnails 2026-01-30 22:56

Hopefully not while you drive, because one wrong bump could mean your brake pedal is blocked.

Merkenfighter 2026-01-31 00:14

I don’t get this trend. It’s objectively worse for driving on public roads.

RBBCPA_98 2026-01-31 01:13

Looking good!

PrestigiousShift134 2026-01-31 01:33

They’re not gonna push the pedal down there’s not enough force. Also OP is parked

ipokesnails 2026-01-31 01:37

The concern about loose stuff around the pedals isn't it pressing the pedals, it's the stuff getting knocked underneath the pedals.

bgrammar 2026-01-31 01:58

I’ve driven a model S with the yoke for the last three years, and will never go back to a standard steering wheel. You drive it in a different manner than you do a car with a wheel so there’s never handover hand. Takes a couple days to get used to, but after that, it’s much easier than a car with a wheel, and looks so much better. I like to explain it as the difference between a track ball and a mouse. Both are computer input devices, but you use them differently to control the cursor. Same thing with a yolk and a steering wheel.

PrestigiousShift134 2026-01-31 02:20

Ahhh. Good point. Hadn’t thought of that

idkausernamerntbh 2026-01-31 03:07

Linkeeee ?

amoeba1126 2026-01-31 03:17

Technically you only void the warranty of the steering wheel and column, but Tesla being the shady company that it is will probably give you a hard time if anything steering related has issues.

Taterdots 2026-01-31 03:24

The only time I'd get a yoke is if it had steer by wire where rotating the yoke 90 degrees to the left or right made the car go it's max turning capability. Dangerous otherwise imho.

captainsaverebornII 2026-01-31 05:42

IDK i love the look but when i got an S for a loaner i hated the yoke steering.

bovul 2026-01-31 10:55

Yours looks different from OP’s (I have the same). Which one do you have? https://preview.redd.it/jcmv7ocd1ogg1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5bdedb01d05bfd8706541e5a248eed0da5e657bf

justinj627 2026-01-31 11:04

I opted for this one cause I have longer legs and I didn’t want it hitting all over me while driving. Got mines from here https://teslaunch.net/products/premium-nappa-leather-yoke-steering-wheel-model-s-x-style-for-tesla-model-y-juniper-model-3-highland?_pos=2&_sid=74d5f3df7&_ss=r

PhoenixS7 2026-01-31 12:26

Right on, thanks for the reply.

Reasonable-Joke-8609 2026-01-31 15:13

A salvage cars warranty is void even with minimal damage or say due to theft.

TrickyTrichomes 2026-01-31 15:45

No

chaaseeee 2026-02-01 16:00

There’s really no need to cross hands, though.

After-Smile-4363 2026-02-02 12:24

What I think you want is the squircle which I have installed on my MYJ. I had the same concern of not having the option of steering from the top which is why i went with the squircle. The other concern that I hear frequently with the yoke is that you can't place at knee to high or else the yoke will hit it during a turn. https://preview.redd.it/7qyx9l4yq2hg1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=21ec69bc8f3a69af15a31d5a99fc93f17fa385f6

ChristianBoay 2026-02-04 10:35

Damn that interior looks good. That‘s why i love Tesla, best you can get for that Price, and it almost looks like a supercar. Enjoy your car man! 💪🏼👍🏼
