HW3 Cheaper Subscription for FSD.

Spartanworx | 2026-01-24 00:47 | 113 views

Upon opening my managed tab I just noticed that my subscription price is only $49. I’m thinking this is because I have a HW3

Do you have enhanced auto pilot?

Turbulent-Abroad7841 2026-01-24 00:51

If this is not because you have enhanced fsd. This honestly is great. I would want this

diaperpoop_ 2026-01-24 00:51

My wife’s ‘21 MY still shows $99/mo. You probably have EAP.

ctzn4 2026-01-24 00:51

I have a HW3 car and it's still $99.

unluckyowl4 2026-01-24 00:56

I wish I could buy EAP.

SomegalInCa 2026-01-24 00:56

I bet because EAP as I see that price too and my car has EAP cause that was what it was called way back in 2018

theorybeta 2026-01-24 01:01

This should be the answer. The discount only kick in under active EAP purchase or subscription.

Awkward-Ring6182 2026-01-24 01:03

I have hw3. Still $99

Omacrontron 2026-01-24 01:04

This is because you have EAP. If my brain was in my butt I too would probably think it had something to do with HW3 lol. If you don’t know what you’re talking about, don’t just sling words around lmfao.

galoryber 2026-01-24 01:09

Mine is a 2018 hw3 with EAP. Next month's statement is showing up at the new lower price.

TrillDaddyChill 2026-01-24 01:12

I would subscribe this week if it went down to $49

Aktrejo301 2026-01-24 01:12

It's because of this 👆🏻

brianWM 2026-01-24 01:17

This is new either way. I had EAP and it was 99. It’s now 49.

rsg1234 2026-01-24 01:24

It was $6k for most of us though..

Spartanworx 2026-01-24 01:27

Yeah I googled it after I posted, I bought mine with EAP, so that explains it, i’m not gonna complain about the cheaper price though

ciesum 2026-01-24 01:30

My 22 Ryzen shows 99/mo

Buzzeh 2026-01-24 01:31

They must have, but this was $99 the other day though so it has decreased, I have one with EAP and one without both HW3 and the the EAP one is $50 less!

Spartanworx 2026-01-24 01:34

I had assumed it was because of HW3, since we don’t get all the cool add on during updates, and I’m not going to pay 2k to pay up front to get a retrofit HW4 or HW4 lite like I’ve been reading about, I think a cheaper subscription or HW3 would be a wise business decision either way

Select_Economics_407 2026-01-24 01:34

Same here

jayrs97 2026-01-24 01:36

I wish I had a chance to buy it

GoodOmens 2026-01-24 01:56

Back when the base car just had basic cruise control….

rsg1234 2026-01-24 01:59

Nah these cars had autopilot beginning in 2014. A vast majority of that time it was standard or in the tech package that most people were buying (around $3k).

GoodOmens 2026-01-24 02:01

Not true. The Model 3 only included auto steer for the first year or two they made them if, and only of, you bought EAP or FSD.

rsg1234 2026-01-24 02:05

Yeah true for very early models but by 4/2019 it was standard. Even back then it was $2-3k to get autopilot though. I paid $6k for EAP in 2022 for a Y that had autopilot for free.

jtoper 2026-01-24 02:10

I keep seeing this and I have to wonder if it's a tactic to get people on board and then raise it to the normal $99 when it renews next month

DrunkLegere 2026-01-24 02:52

I have EAP and it is showing $49.

offwing10 2026-01-24 03:05

How does/did someone get EAP?

dontsitonmyface174 2026-01-24 03:58

Eh, if the premium subscription came with It, I’d buy it.

Efficient_Raise6703 2026-01-24 04:12

Used to cost 199/month for FSD

s7orm 2026-01-24 11:22

It costs half as much as FSD, so thousands of dollars.

yolo-yoshi 2026-01-24 11:29

I’ve seen about a dozen people say that they do have it and they still have the price of $99

davejugs01 2026-01-24 11:29

My intel shows unavailable, tesla told me that it would cost too much to upgrade and I should buy a new car.

anionyx 2026-01-24 13:55

It's only in certain markets/countries. Usually when FSD isn't allowed by their government agencies yet. Like Autopilot Plus.

kfar87 2026-01-24 15:39

Eh. It’s not that great in my opinion. The turns were a bit harsh and unnatural at times. I did the upgrade to FSD over the summer and it was well worth it.

Diligent_Chemistry93 2026-01-24 15:39

Same for me too

jebe86 2026-01-24 16:21

Don’t get me excited like that again

Joei626 2026-01-24 16:31

Shiii I’ll gladly pay 50/mo have hwd3 and eap. EAP sucks lol

unluckyowl4 2026-01-24 16:39

Yeah thought about it afterwords EAP on HW3 would not be worth 6k. Probably like 1k.

Fantastic-Bass-9454 2026-01-24 18:52

I really don’t know why FSD can’t be like $20/month. I think we would all subscribe at that price 🤷🏽‍♂️

Familiar-Way7466 2026-01-24 19:50

You think it’s worth it to buy FSD for $2k? I got my 2020 with EAP already so it’s cheaper now. I feel like HW3 will never get unsupervised so wondering how worth it it’d really be. How much better is FSD than EAP for highway driving?

Itchy_Platypus4085 2026-01-24 20:31

Same here 🙋‍♂️

gre-0021 2026-01-24 21:09

Lmao

BuddyTheShihTzu 2026-01-24 23:11

Me too!

BuddyTheShihTzu 2026-01-24 23:12

What’s the difference between regular and enhanced autopilot I have a 23 model 3

Capable-Cup-9641 2026-01-25 00:23

yup. not probably, they definitely do

How_To_Thrive 2026-01-25 00:44

Buy FSD at that point. And use FSD without a worry 🤞

califoneChris 2026-01-25 01:51

Tesla used to offer it years ago.

D3CAF1NAT0R 2026-01-25 04:21

I have a '23 M3P with EAP, and FSD is $49. *Edited to remove incorrect statements saying Tesla removed autopilot for existing owners*

NYHeel 2026-01-25 04:29

They didn’t delete anything from existing owners.

LoneStarGut 2026-01-25 05:28

With Enhanced AP it will do lane changes either on its own, or if you hit the signal. It also can stop at stop signs/lights, but not turn. I just bought 2023 Y with HW4 and EAP yesterday. I drove it home and then promptly upgraded to FSD for $2k. I noticed it also offered it for $49/month. I decided to go buy it - payback time is a little over 3 years if prices don't go up. We now have a 2020 Model 3 HW3 with FSD (purchased a used car with it prepaid) last May and now this newer Model Y running 14.2.2.3.

LoneStarGut 2026-01-25 05:31

I just bought a used 2023 Model Y with HW4 that had EAP. I was able to upgrade to FSD [14.2.2.3](http://14.2.2.3) for $2000 lifetime.

Tetris_Prime 2026-01-25 14:51

I can't even get FSD as a sub yet.

Wilder831 2026-01-25 15:10

How does one make it change to $49.99

thegolfpilot 2026-01-25 16:18

They didn’t take anything away. It’s just a different name

D3CAF1NAT0R 2026-01-25 16:42

Updated, thank you

D3CAF1NAT0R 2026-01-25 16:42

Ah ok thanks

Tough_Passage_3785 2026-01-25 20:50

It's for those who had purchased EAP(Enhanced Autopilot) FSD price dropped to $49/month

No_Advisor_2331 2026-01-25 23:49

i don’t think it’s going to be an option to pay to upgrade. they’ll upgrade early purchasers of FSD for HW3 for free and beyond that i’m guessing they’ll just push 14lite and say if you want more, buy a new car.

No_Advisor_2331 2026-01-25 23:50

why would they do that?

jmagill2357 2026-01-26 02:04

I have HW3 and mine is still $99

LegendOfZachh 2026-01-26 03:27

I believe you have to have enhanced autopilot to get the $49/Month

ScaredPatience2478 2026-01-26 16:22

They stopped selling it. It was a $6k upgrade

Strange_Stable_8576 2026-01-27 21:46

Yeah the upgrade cost for my model 3 was 3k to get EAP, I didn't buy it until they dropped the cost to buy it to 1k like 6 months ago, I'm still on HW2.5 but planning to upgrade to HW3 using my tax return, it'll be nice if it only costs $49 for the autopilot subscription

zachg 2026-01-28 11:35

So bring EAP back. Frankly, that's enough for me on HW3.

ambro_ck 2026-02-04 15:49

In Europe, I paid €3,700 for FSD yesterday. I already had EAP on HW 3. For $2,000, I would have bought it without thinking.

ambro_ck 2026-02-16 06:51

is due to EAP
