Whats everyone in the UKs suggestions on a model 3 performance? currently was thinking of going for 5% ceramic on the rear two windows and just a transparent one for the front which reduces heat, leaving the back and windscreen alone. I'm new to this, any feedback or suggestions welcome.

My suggestion is 20% all around including the rear glass, and 75% or clear on the front. The UV and heat rejection on the front is quite nice in the warmer months. If you leave the back without a tint with the sides that dark (5%), it will look weird.

Thank youu, would you do the entire back pane of glass or cut it so it's like only the back windo bit that is tinted? obviously it is tinted already but just not the back lower window section

40% windshield, 50% moonroof, 20% everywhere else. I honestly wish I got a darker tint on the sides but wanted to not regret it lol. I went to the recommended place Tesla gave me. Best decision I ever made. I’m in USA though, not sure what you have laws on (although mine are too dark still, legally)

Do the whole piece of glass as one piece of film. If you do only the rear section, there will be a visible (from the inside) line in the middle.

Thank you, i think the reason the tinting place didn't suggest doing the back too was because of cracking issues but I'm tempted to go there

I think that issue is overblown, and hearing that from an installer is more about them not wanting to risk liability.

I did 35% all around. 55% on the sunroof. 70% on the windshield. https://preview.redd.it/68iwwfj8pleg1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38cac6dbe490c75b10fa02a294755109154bd444

I just have the regular version but I did 70% ceramic on the windshield and 35% ceramic on the sides and rear. Didn’t tint the roof. It’s kind of hard to see out of the rear and side mirrors at night with just 35% unless you turn off the auto dimming mirrors. https://preview.redd.it/sm9wplztqleg1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c4de28f752731514f2e0ca94705beeae8bbe6459

Not suggesting it but this is what I did and they can somewhat see me and my hand motions Edit: disregard I'm in the States

jchin913 2026-01-21 01:40

I recommend 15% all around including back panel, 50% windshield, and 35% sunroof

Nice wheels man!!

Disastrous-Trust-863 2026-01-21 07:01

20% on the sides and back…front 25% 🔥🔥

SpikeyTwitch20 2026-01-21 11:35

Got mine done 20% all rear and rear roof glass. It looks amazing but the only negative would be that seeing out the back is a bitch when it’s a bit dark and you have tinting mirrors turned on. I find myself using the camera button on the wheel to quickly see out the rear cam. If I do it again, I’ll do 5%. That’ll make for front/back look less obvious as well. It looks 100% better with tints regardless. https://preview.redd.it/cdubr2wcvoeg1.jpeg?width=1152&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d36043e79870c63618738ce376dc317f6fa4b583 I could be wrong. It your picture looks like a UK Bluewater collection point? If it is, the company that did mine (in the picture) is just down the road.

Thanks!

RBBCPA_98 2026-01-21 12:16

Thanks.

FailsafeFPV 2026-01-21 21:46

Thanks a lot, yes it is bluewater! So you'd reccomend doing 5% out just the rear doors and also the full rear glass? I was going to currently do 5% out the rear doors and leave the back glass but was told that might cause damage as the guy near me said there's been reports of it doing the back glass. I was then going to get the front two windows done in a transparent tint to block heat and leave the windscreen. interesting you say to go for 5% rather than the current 20%, i do like the pan sun roof so not sure about tinting that at 5%..

SpikeyTwitch20 2026-01-21 21:55

Tinting the rear screen is always a risk. Your M3P has heaters, radio & UHF antennas in it and if the tint is cut on the inside then damage is a possibility. Ideally I’d like to see 5% before I pulled the trigger but to my knowledge, 20% is the factory level. I just think it’s too dark for the rear glass. I did do full rear glass and you can see the seam where the had to use 2 pieces as the glass is larger than a normal sheet of tint. I love having sun come through the front roof so I’d never tint that.

xxRichBoy25 2026-01-22 00:59

I did 5% on the sides and 75% on the front windshield

Mundane_Engineer_550 2026-01-22 02:40

5% all around and leave windshield as is

FailsafeFPV 2026-01-22 12:32

Thank you, that's why I'm considering just doing the back 2 windows in 5% and leaving the entire back windscreen glass panel stock. But.. I don't know if that would look weird though. i might get the guy to hold some on the window so i can see what it will look like.

SpikeyTwitch20 2026-01-22 15:18

You can always go back to add some later. I doubt any company would say no

Simple_Ad_3876 2026-01-25 02:28

5% all around excluding the windshield, leave that blank.
