These are great :) We used to take my 2019 and then 2022 Model 3 camping with a Thule Force XT XL, and now that I’m in a Highland, I plan to do the same. Absolutely bonkers how much you can take with you with all the storage in the car plus one of these. Enjoy ski season!

Got a year to test this (Rei return policy) but part of me thinks I should’ve gotten the XL 😬

Does the mount grip the glass? Always wonder how these are mounted on a tesla.

How much does it affect your range with the added wind resistance?
I have a large Yakima box and am considering getting roof bars on our Model 3 for the option of taking the Tesla on longer trips instead of our Honda SUV.

I’ve found that we could fit a ton, but the weight limit is the issue. Can’t pack in nearly as much as will fit because of the Tesla roof rack weight restrictions.

It’s mostly on the body. There’s a few videos online but if you don’t over tighten, it doesn’t really rest on the glass

I’ve only driven like 20 miles today, mostly highway but with traffic. Roughly 309 wh/mi.

I have to admit I never kept track of the numbers, but I’ve read “about 7%” in other forums. I drove all across Texas and never had an issue with it all up there. It never had a material impact from one Supercharger to the next.

I went with the Thule Pulse Alpine. It’s a bit more streamlined and hasn’t had a big impact on range. Yours looks awesome though! Also, I highly recommend converting to the T slot mounting.
Mine has the same rattling noise. It’s the top lid rattling against the bottom shell.

What’s T slot mounting??? Sorry. I’m pretty new to the roof rack situations.

I also don’t have exact numbers but I don’t recognise a number as low as 7%. My personal (n=1) experience is much more towards 15%, but speed plays an even bigger role than normally. When driving 60mph the deviation is much lower but when driving 80mph (speed limit here) you’ll really notice and the car uses much more energy. And during winter it’s not making things better.

What part number are you using for the T slot conversion?

Update: did our ski trip and range tested it. Drove pretty slow with pretty snowy conditions. 350 wh/mi going up to the mountain and 290 wh/mi for the return trip.

Picking one up for my Y this weekend. Can't do the piano black on the motion lol

I actually switched it to the motion :(. The force has some tolerance issues and it was making a ton of noise on the highway. I put foam to dampen it but the foam eventually compresses and you have to replace a new strip

Damn. I was really not looking forward to the piano black which is just a scratch magnet and id rather not ppf lol
Might go yakima then lol
Edit: just ordered the Titan version lol
