What screen is this?

rjcarr 2026-01-09 22:32

How often would you say you have to intervene? I used FSD on a HW3 car three times and at first it started going 38 mph in a 25 residential (had to adjust settings), and then I had to intervene because it literally stopped in the middle of train tracks (!). The third time it worked fine. Still, I was pretty impressed with it.

LurkerWithAnAccount 2026-01-09 22:37

Having just traded in a 2017 S with AP2, upgraded to AP3 and using Autopilot since new… on a new 2026 Model 3, it’s night and day. I just pulled into my daughter’s school parking lot for the second time today and I did not need to be in the car, just like this morning to/from. Just like my afternoon trip to the UPS Store or to pick up lunch. Absolutely no comparison to HW3, IMO.

Distreser1 2026-01-10 00:03

Autopilot section

djbriankeith 2026-01-10 00:11

85% for me since I have been on vacation out of state for a bit. Now that I’m back it will go back down to about 50 or 60%. FSD is a game changer when I’m on road trips driving in cities I’m not familiar with.

EitherCharacter9342 2026-01-10 00:28

Very Good stats FSD!

mogur86 2026-01-10 00:36

Conceitedreality 2026-01-10 00:55

Is this HW4 only?

johnyeros 2026-01-10 01:41

Where is this option and it is only hw4

[deleted] 2026-01-10 01:42

Yeah, I've driven 8,600 miles since the trial came out and 8,500 have been FSD!

Civil-Let3523 2026-01-10 03:59

I sure hope they give us another trial at some point.

G70FanBoy 2026-01-10 04:37

I used it for a week and it missed two turns on the interstate, tried to randomly turn right off the road while on a straight road with no turns, and it would randomly slam its brakes on in the middle of traffic cause it thought someone was pulling out in front of it. More dangerous than safe in my experience. I quit using it. Especially after it just tried to run off the road. I was done after that

sim16 2026-01-10 06:03

Not in Australia. No moneys worth.

Team_Troy 2026-01-10 06:33

I’m at 88 and think this is about my true avg.

Indpendent 2026-01-10 08:29

I don't have stats but have FSD since 2019!

Dee_504 2026-01-10 11:27

After I adjusted the settings it works good. But I learned if the area has construction , it misses exits and gets off at exits it is not suppose to but then I gave it a shrug because using Apple Maps or Google Maps it does the same if I’m using navigation because the roads are not upgraded so I understand the Tesla misreading. The only thing I can complain about is how long it takes at a stop sign to go. Glad it takes precaution but when it’s just me at a 4 way stop sign, it takes a long time to go. If it’s multiple people at the 4 way stop sign I just take over because people always go when it’s not their turn

LeadingAd6025 2026-01-10 12:35

ELI5 - how will they rate driver scores for insurance if fsd is what drives almost always ? Shouldn’t that fsd drive yield lowest possible rate for driver insurance regardless of driver age and history? May be insurance should be paid based on this month’s fsd v driver miles

disasterless 2026-01-10 13:11

I'm on HW3 and I've never seen this 😭

LitePenguins 2026-01-10 13:28

Yes, HW4 only starting with FSD 14.2.X and above

LitePenguins 2026-01-10 13:30

Versus my 2021 HW3 Model 3 where I have to intervene somewhat commonly because it's too unconfident or indecisive, on my 2026 HW4 Model Y, the only time is to take over for potholes. Otherwise, it's near perfect.

Vultor 2026-01-10 14:01

It looks like they had to intervene no more than 4.17%.

HistoricalHurry8361 2026-01-10 14:01

I’m at 91% because my partner keeps driving himself! I sort of wish it would score the driver profile separate from the car. But it’s still cool to see the stats.

ecksean1 2026-01-10 14:26

Tessie, for a minute used to track FSD miles. Then it stopped working so I canceled that shit.

Passive_incomes_lazy 2026-01-10 14:58

Its not if you plan to keep car longer than 4-5 years, anything less it's worth rather than buying whole

Passive_incomes_lazy 2026-01-10 14:59

New update?

Passive_incomes_lazy 2026-01-10 15:01

It got better since I bought in 2021, so if it's been a while try it again. Right now I Don't touch wheel at all, it works flawlessly unless you look away from road then it bothers you

SpikeX 2026-01-10 15:06

I hate that we aren't getting little things like this either. Sure, the actual FSD stack needs HW4 to run, okay, fine, I get that. But to withhold a UI feature that has nothing to do with the cameras? Come on, Tesla.

TShieldsESQ 2026-01-10 15:56

More like 7 years. $8k up front is 80 months. 6.67 years to break even. Assuming no future price increases, time-value of money, etc.

Passive_incomes_lazy 2026-01-10 15:57

Yeah you right

TShieldsESQ 2026-01-10 15:58

I’m at 💯 :) I have a long highway commute

Powerful-Summer-3382 2026-01-10 16:50

Thought you got lunch from UPS, haha.

LurkerWithAnAccount 2026-01-10 17:58

LOL! Brown boxin it! Took the Cybertruck to kids sports this morning, then about 30 min to my parents house, now on my way home as I write this and zero interventions. Truck stats are 1,072.2 Self Driving Miles for 1092.7 Total Miles or 98%

jadequarter 2026-01-10 18:48

How do u upgrade HW3 to HW4

Jaws12 2026-01-10 18:53

I really wish we could get this counter/metric on v12 HW3 vehicles while we wait for future v14 lite/etc. upgrades.

rebel_entrepreneur 2026-01-11 03:18

If you don't upgrade for a better tesla

jetpilot_throwaway 2026-01-11 12:39

I would have been in 3 wrecks already

Ok_Description_ 2026-01-11 13:26

I'm at 0%. To European for FSD lol

ajtronic 2026-01-11 17:11

The FSD trial was nice but definitely not worth the money in my opinion. It often made mistakes and I didn’t fully feel comfortable with its decision making.

EastEgg74 2026-01-11 18:30

I had to drive for an hour an a half today without FSD which I used pretty much daily for a month and my arms got fatigued lol.

rpkusuma 2026-01-11 18:49

Nah y'all trust this too much

Schnitzhole 2026-01-11 19:15

Its probably not that complicated and its because they didnt track usage on previous versions and people would be upset if it wasn’t accurate. Easier to say X many miles on FSD v14 when rolling out together.

[deleted] 2026-01-11 20:51

You guys are so lucky. Here in Europe we only have auto steer and FSD is lonnnnggg away

NeighborhoodKey999 2026-01-11 23:05

Has anyone drifted on it yet.

Leyvaman-MX 2026-01-12 04:13

We just enjoyed a friend’s Brunch today…had more than a few 🥴, so went the smart way and Subscribed again. Thanks for the Chauffeured drive home 😉

SchlongCopter69 2026-01-12 04:19

Thanks for this. It’s no shit inspiring to lean on it more. Love how Grok can help now too… salesperson was right “this car is as bad as it will ever be, right now! … it will only get better with updates!” He was 1000% accurate.

ahadzaki1221 2026-01-12 09:34

Loved Tessie! Then it wanted me to verify something, about a year ago?

Present-Ad-9598 2026-01-12 17:06

Not worth $100 a month for a car to drive itself anywhere in the country AND park itself?

SyntaxError_1024 2026-01-12 17:29

Yup

mogur86 2026-01-12 17:37

Right. That's why I didn't spend 8k more when I purchased the car. I'll pay the $100 for a month if I'm going on a road trip or something

LegendOfZachh 2026-01-12 17:58

AnnualAlert5785 2026-01-16 12:14

remember they can always increase the 99 a month

Passive_incomes_lazy 2026-01-24 18:30

I wanted to but can't cause the value went to shit

Passive_incomes_lazy 2026-01-24 18:30

Which they are now 😂
