Telsa model 3 keep lifelong premium connectivity

CompetitiveAd9384 | 2026-01-05 20:40 | 24 views

Hello, I have tried to search for an answer for this without any luck. So the previous owner to my Tesla had lifelong premium connectivity. Can I as the new owner in any way keep it, for example by asking him to just change email in the Tesla app without doing a owner transfer.

If you take his account like that then, as far as Tesla is concerned, nothing has changed with the car.

Will his name be shown as the owner of the tesla? Any warranty problems in the future?

You should be able to change all that online

Can offer some insight here. I’ve had my M3P for three weeks (it’s literally amazing), bought from a dealership and the previous owner still had his account logged in, with premium connectivity. When reaching out to Tesla to change ownership, premium connectivity remained - FOC 👍

How did you change ownership? Through the app?

So I can change the email and the name without making an official ownership change?

I would give it a try first. Try changing the name on your account

Permanently bought software is tied to the car not the account

I bought a Tesla 3 last September with paid for FSD and Lifetime premium connectivity. I am the second owner. Both stayed with car.

Warranty will always stay with the car

I just checked on my app. You can change the name and email and phone number.

Yeah same thing I bought my M3 back in August and all I did was change it in the app. It took a few days for it to change over but the premium connectivity stayed with it.

The car won't lose lifetime premium connectivity if you do a normal transfer

In Hungary there was free premium connectivity. Until now. From the beginning of 14th january, it will be pricey. It will be around $5/month.

Same for Romania. But it will be around 10 Euro/month.

Thank you.  I have now changed his email and name to mine. If I visit Tesla store, do you think it will still be written on him as an owner? I can’t manage to find the owner name in the app or Tesla. Only my name is written as the account owner but nothing under the car.

The account owner will have control of the car for all intents and purpose. Now that it has been changed it is you all the way. Another bonus is you have access to all previous service history of the car. Also, please dont forget to update the credit card on file within the app so you can use superchargers on YOUR dime and not the previous owner

Thank you for all the help. I have done that. :)

Thank you for all the replies. The transfer has been done!
