Repair Progress Ghosted Me

Crawdaddy-MktgGenius | 2026-01-04 19:21 | 30 views

Rats ate my wiring in my M3 and it’s been at Tesla SC since 12.26.25 and won’t be ready until 01.8.26. I get that this is right smack in the middle of the holiday season. The service people at Tesla have been great and they gave me a loaner Model Y + free Supercharging. I’m a happy customer! My only complaint is the lack of any updates showing up in my app. It updated the day it was brought in and nothing since. Thankfully, the service people at Tesla called me with updates and let me know to click the APPROVE ESTIMATE button on the app. As much as I appreciate all the great, useful features of the Tesla app, the Repair Progress function seems about as useful as chrome exhaust pipe tips on a Tesla.

So you didn’t approve the estimate and neither did Tesla? Once it’s approved you see line by line each request its status and notes.

I approved the estimate as soon as I was called by Tesla SC and told to hit the button in the app! Here’s a screenshot of what happens with I click Track Repair Progress. https://preview.redd.it/ro94geo6ydbg1.jpeg?width=1326&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b66b50bc7b193162ae75334947d4dea8dea21219

It won’t be ready until 12.8.26??

Crawdaddy-MktgGenius 2026-01-04 19:42

Typo. 01.08.26. Thanks for the proofreading!

Actually the original date is more consistent with the service I've had from Tesla in Raleigh NC

Honestly if you have a loaner car, who cares? Free supercharging, free FSD & you’re not putting miles on your own car

Thats odd, preparing status usually means the ticket has been created but the vehicle has not been serviced yet.

If you read completely post I said, “The service people at Tesla have been great and they gave me a loaner Model Y + free Supercharging. I’m a happy customer!” The point of the post is about the actual usefulness of one feature of the app; Track Repair Progress.

Yep. Pretty much my thoughts. Seems like the app/system could use an update. Plus, although I had arranged for Road Service tow via the app, the car was not in “their system” until, after waiting about 30 minutes, I went to the Service Desk and asked about it.

This happened to me back in 2020...they had my car for 16 weeks. No loaner. Absolutely no updates the entire time. Cost me $1,200.

Their customer service has been 5 Stars+!

methano 2026-01-05 03:47

Good for you. When my computer went out, they (Tesla Raleigh) scheduled a repair 9 weeks out. After repeatedly looking for earlier openings, I was eventually get it fixed at seven weeks. That ain't no 5 stinkin' stars.
