Used Model 3 condition from Tesla

Hit or miss. My parter bought one from Tesla and it was almost perfect. Work bought one and it had some giant scrapes and smelled like someone lived in it for two years and never took a shower. Id say go for it. They will fix most issues, or you can deny it. Just don’t expect a perfect car.

My pre-owned 2023 is near mint. Pleasant l surprised as how good the condition is. Shipped from Florida to Ohio

I bought a 2022 LR AWD with 32k miles on it in July for $19k after tax credit. I put the deposit down as soon as I saw it come up on the website at like 3am. Bought it from Colorado. Live in Wyoming. When they took us out to look at it they said it was one of the cleanest ones they've seen. The way they said it made it seem like they don't always come in the best condition. Mine was literally perfect. The person that had it before me leased it. Not a scratch or stain or anything really. The process was super easy. Just make sure you look over your car really well before you drive it off the lot if you go that route. I've seen a few horror stories here, but again my was 10/10. Plus I got the extra 1 year 10k mile warranty that kicks in after the general warranty for the car is up since I bought it used from Tesla.

1-2 minor paint chips that aren’t really noticeable unless close, probably will get the pain fixing kit and call it a day

Bought a pre-owned '23 M3 52k miles last week. Our car was near perfect, I've found only 2-3 very small rock chips, which most people wouldn't notice with the naked eye. Other than that, the car has been pristine. From reading some of the horror stories here, I would try to find the car your wanting as close to the Tesla location you'll be taking delivery at. I know some people on here post about damage during the shipping process, so maybe try to minimize the distance it's shipped if possible. The closest Tesla to me was 2 hours away, so I purposely chose a M3 that was near that location, and it had arrived the literal next day after placing our order.

My only complaint is sometimes when the car was leased by previous owner, they replace tires with budget tires like Landsails to comply with tread for used cars they sell, which I got… $70 tires

I assume they refurb them a little. When I traded in my 2019 M3P they didn't even look at it. It was mint but you could probably trade in a real dog.

Yeah that’s what I’m worried about. The one I’m looking at was leased for a year with 30k miles and has a lien reported. Not being able to see the car before I order is a big issue for me.

One of the reasons I ended up buying on Carvana. I lost the extra year warranty but being able to see what I was getting was a huge perk to me.

Recently bought two model 3s. The 2023 came in like new condition. The other one was an older model and had dings and paint chips. With a 2024 I suppose you’d be in pretty good shape.

i was pretty nervous, but my car was in fantastic condition. They also warned me that if I picked it up today (instead of waiting tmr), the car wouldn't be detailed. I was impatient so didn't care, but the interior was almost spotless.

I bought a 2023 M3 from Tesla. My impression is that they don't do anything to it but wash it right before they let you look at it. You should look at it before you pay for it. If you don't live near a service center it will be quite inconvenient to get it fixed. Personally, I live 100 miles from the nearest service center, so I feel your pain.

My just-off lease 2022 w 17k mi black with white interior came in like factory new. Not a ding, scrape, smudge, or mark. Tesla shipped it from Pheonix to PNW.

I just bought a 2024 MY used and it is basically brand new. Few incredibly minor scratches but other than that pristine. Very positive experience

We bought a used M3P from tesla (UK) they sent us videos of the car and said it had a few minor stone chips that would be sorted before collection (it was) Car was also prefect on collection, even came with with ppf and new wheels and tyres all round. Battery health check was also done without us asking... 18 month warranty and a few other extras. I suppose it depends on where your located as what service you get.

Congratulations! Which channels did you search/find this out of state? I have been searching locally but feel there are better deals out there...

I would prefer buying from a dealership so you can test drive. Tesla generally doesn’t let you.

As per the Tesla dealership, you cannot test drive a used car. The only advantage over a Carvana or CarMax is the extra 1yr warranty. IMO, the additional warranty does not add value on EVs with less than 50K miles.

Just bought a 2023 M3 for 25K with less than 10k miles. Paid the $500 deposit and delivery fee. Car has a couple minor scratches, but otherwise great condition. A couple notes from our experience: The delivery associate can drive you around the parking lot, but the purchaser cannot drive it until paperwork signed. The battery life was different than advertised. We charged it to full and waited a bit, then it readjusted to better than advertised. We measured the tire depth. All good. No records for maintenance will be provided. Use the provided carfax and screenshot it - as it will become unavailable once you commit to the purchase (you get the hedgehog screen). Not sure if the car needed a tire rotation - which is really the only maintenance that might be due at 9900 miles, I believe. There’s a lot of noise from the windows (known issue) that we will address with the service department. We have a new MY juniper that we love - very quiet ride in comparison to the 2023 lightly used M3. Good luck!
