Only one thing I miss!!

Comming from a Peugeot E5008 2025 to model 3😂 Even though it’s from 2019, space is literally the only thing I miss. Merry Christmas 🎄

Didn’t know santa had a model 3

Reasonable-Word6729 2025-12-24 14:30

My 10gen Honda civic hatch will fit four golfers, their clubs and bags….the m3 will not. The Civic also has adaptive cruise and lane keep on demand unlike the Tesla. I wish Tesla made a similar small hatch….that I miss the most.

Stridyr 2025-12-24 14:36

Can't tell from the picture so I'm just making sure: you know the back seats fold down, right? Dang thing is big enough to sleep in!

Present-Ad-9598 2025-12-24 14:52

Wdym unlike Tesla😭 you can use adaptive cruise whenever if you don’t have FSD

Flaeskestegen 2025-12-24 14:58

Uhm. Tesla does have exactly what youre describing tho

starkiller_bass 2025-12-24 15:14

I just wish the 3 was a hatch like the Y. It would be SO much more useful.

OldFargoan 2025-12-24 15:16

The only thing the Civic has that Tesla doesn't is front wheel drive.

Stereo_bfs 2025-12-24 15:16

Not sure what op means, but mine 2022 model 3 cruise control is unusable due to phantom braking. It scared the shit outta me.

Schnitzhole 2025-12-24 15:30

Weird to not go Y if you want the space. Its 3x more cargo room i believe

ScottRoberts79 2025-12-24 15:32

But then it would be a Y…..

Counting-Tiles4567 2025-12-24 15:46

Being tall, bloated, heavy, and ugly is what makes the Y. A hatch, like the S, which, again, is NOT a Y, would make the car MUCH better IMO.

dantodd 2025-12-24 15:58

Tesla TACC doesn't do lane keeping in my CyberTruck, I don't know about other models

ncwv44b 2025-12-24 16:16

Weird… I find myself constantly amazed at how much fits in the M3. You know there is a frunk and sub trunk, right? Maybe learn to pack better? Edit: Lol downvotes

[deleted] 2025-12-24 16:21

Tesla needs a sedan hatch so bad. Or a wagon!

BecauseBatman01 2025-12-24 16:21

I have a Y and it honestly catches me off guard how often I can’t fit stuff. It’s deceptive cuz of the hatchback. I love the car still. But it definitely has issues with fitting stuff. But luckily I don’t need to stuff it with stuff often so it’s not a deal breaker.

dragonovus 2025-12-24 16:26

But you have more space actually. Use the frunk and the bottom of the trunk…

dragonovus 2025-12-24 16:27

They probably don’t even know. I use the frunk a lot and the sub trunk

RedBandsblu 2025-12-24 16:28

Valuable_Ad_4916 2025-12-24 16:30

Money in your wallet?

angelocunha 2025-12-24 16:35

Did you replace the 5008 with the Model 3, or are you keeping both?

ncwv44b 2025-12-24 16:38

Yeah, this thing swallows more than my old 545i. It’s amazing.

Alepale 2025-12-24 16:39

Don't really get the condescending tone in your final sentence. Sedans will never compete with wagons in packing simple because of the shape. That doesn't mean that sedans are bad or can't fit things inside them, it just means you're more limited in the stuff you can pack. Maybe OP needs to pack lots of boxes, that usually come in a square/rectangle shape and sit quite high, something a wagon/SUV swallows with ease, but might not even fit a sedan because of the smaller hatch opening. Packing well is important, but physics/mathematics don't care much about that. If something's too big to fit, it doesn't matter how well you play Tetris. With that said, yes, the model 3 swallows a lot of stuff, especially if you can pack soft things that can be squeezed.

Hesta85 2025-12-24 16:46

Honestly I moved over from the model 3 to an ID.4 and although the hatch makes the available space more accessible, it feels like there was more available space in the model 3. Of course it will depend on the shape of what you’re loading though

Sweet-Waltz-97 2025-12-24 16:49

Model Zzz 😴

Training-Pineapple-7 2025-12-24 17:03

You should have bought a Y if you need more space. It’s not rocket science.

AredditJ 2025-12-24 17:08

This comment needs the most up votes lmao

Fearless-Birthday-23 2025-12-24 17:11

Model s

5thhorse-man 2025-12-24 17:21

Cargo is the pure reason I went for a Y... Really wanted a 3. Maybe once the toddler becomes a child I'll change🤣

Minute_Airline_370 2025-12-24 17:22

Did you happen to use the storage compartment under the floor too? Still not as good as the Y on storage but that compartment is nice for a little more space. I bought some small trees the other day and they fit perfectly upright when i put them in that storage

Box-o-bees 2025-12-24 17:26

Might need to retrain your cameras or something. My 2020 fsd works fine.

[deleted] 2025-12-24 17:34

Model s is so wide though. It’d be nice if they had an in between. Unfortunately some of us with 2 car garages have to give a little extra space for the wife lol

spaceman_spiffy 2025-12-24 17:39

i’ve never had an issue on my 2021. I’d put in a service request.

TheChameleonsSong 2025-12-24 17:41

Model RIP

matthewralston 2025-12-24 18:31

I'm just about to replace my Model 3 at the end of the finance term. I test drove a Model Y, really wanting the hatchback. I couldn't do it. The 3 is so much better in every other respect. Ordered another 3. Wish it was a hatchback.

Khelics 2025-12-24 18:40

You got a frunk, trunk, sub trunk and seats that fold no way you need more space 😭

starkiller_bass 2025-12-24 18:47

Same. I tried to talk myself into a Y but I couldn't do it. Highland M3P has ruined me.

Ok-Arm-8412 2025-12-24 18:59

My boot currently looks exactly the same! 😂

Ok-Arm-8412 2025-12-24 19:04

I’m currently in a 2025 awd lr, said I’d go for m3p after this. Intrigued to know if it’s worth it. I drive too fast as it is 🫣

starkiller_bass 2025-12-24 19:10

But they could extend the roofline and make the Y a proper SUV with a cargo box if the 3 had a hatch! Or screw it make the 3 a wagon and everybody wins.

starkiller_bass 2025-12-24 19:11

I think those were the design goals. “When someone shows up saying they want a Model 3 but it’s not bloated, heavy, and ugly enough, we need to have something for them.”

starkiller_bass 2025-12-24 19:19

The power is absolutely intoxicating, but the handling and seats are what really make it for me. If you enjoy going nuts on back roads it's such an amazing car.

Present-Ad-9598 2025-12-24 20:19

Cybertruck specifically doesn’t have autosteer outside of FSD, and it’s one of the lowest volume products lol

GiraffeComfortable75 2025-12-24 22:02

Every room was emptied and reloaded again 😊 Wife and 3 kids. So no way to fold the seats. In everyday use, it eats more than enough. My point is that, even though it’s 6 years older than the E5008, space is the only thing I’m missing, on a day like this. Yep I did switch the E5008 to this one. Had an ID4 before the E5008. None of them comes close to m3. In my eyes it’s the most beautiful and fun car, for a “normal” budget.

matthewralston 2025-12-24 22:18

I'd driven the Highland at the start of the year, so knew what it was like. Driving the Y, I was really trying hard to convince myself. The Tesla rep picked up on my struggle and offered me another go in a Highland for half an hour. I knew as soon as I drove it out of the car park and put my foot down. It felt like home in a way the Juniper just couldn't. I returned it 8 minutes later and bought the Highland that evening. It arrives in February. 😬

TheBiscuitMen 2025-12-25 00:00

What's better in the 3? Currently have a 3 but the lack of a hatch back is killing me. Was planning to get a y as assumed it was identical other than hatch back and slightly higher.

Work-Alone 2025-12-25 03:12

One of the biggest reasons I traded my 3 for a pre owned Y

gabowers74 2025-12-25 03:58

They need a convertible.

Flaeskestegen 2025-12-25 06:51

I experienced that once like 3 years ago. Never experienced it since on both my 2021 and 2025 model 3

Mmm_bloodfarts 2025-12-25 11:57

I don't get it, what happened to the basically brand new peugeot? And why didn't you go with the y if you needed the space?

Appropriate-Leek-919 2025-12-25 12:01

I mean the 3 is just more fun to drive around, I don't think there are any technological benefits that the Y doesnt have.

matthewralston 2025-12-26 08:58

This. The Y feels lumbering by comparison. Plus the 3 looks nicer.

matchthis007 2025-12-26 14:17

Still more room than my previous e-class and constantly forgetting about the frunk. Keep most used car cleaning gear in the extra space under the boot. Would always like more space, but I got it with this when compared to what I had

weeeehaaw 2025-12-26 18:01

That’s why you buy the Y.

starkiller_bass 2025-12-26 19:13

If I wanted the fat ugly version, I would do exactly that

weeeehaaw 2025-12-26 19:48

Its better. More versatile. And it’s prettier. But to each its own.

starkiller_bass 2025-12-26 19:50

Look, stranger, we don't take KINDLY to Model Y lovers here in /r/TeslaModel3

weeeehaaw 2025-12-26 20:06

Haha, didn’t know I was in r/TeslaModel3. Don’t shoot me on the way out.

starkiller_bass 2025-12-26 20:33

... and take your extra inch of ground clearance with you!

cjshaw79 2025-12-28 22:54

Let me get this straight. You want the model 3 to be a hatchback like it's sister car the model y which is a hatchback? Just get a Y instead of a 3! It's literally the car you think would be so useful.

starkiller_bass 2025-12-28 23:00

It would be useful, but it would not be a 3. The 3 is much more fun to drive than the Y.

clee666 2025-12-29 08:55

Or like the S

starkiller_bass 2025-12-29 16:20

Come to think of it, why is the 3 the only NON hatchback in the lineup?!

clee666 2025-12-30 11:53

I'm in Canada and it's impossible to open the trunk without all the snow falling inside the trunk. And the Rear Defrost melts the ice, drips down and refreeze immediately directly on the trunk preventing it to open. It's horrible, I don't remember having so much issues with previous cars in winter.
