Picked It Up Last Wednesday

itsokfine | 2025-12-23 20:01 | 146 views

Traded in a 2021 M3P last Wednesday. Drove my new 2026 M3P from the Midwest with my wife & daughter to the east coast over the weekend. Was very dirty after that, so got it detailed yesterday. Flawless ride and came with all seasons.

Damn, is this in union county somewhere? I’m actually currently on my first road trip right now heading there.

Been thinking of pulling the trigger on the M3P versus the i4 M60. Let us know how you enjoy the ride.

I'm never tinting mine. I've seen cracked LEDs because of it and some stained pillars and creaking from them removing plastic covers and breaking the tabs.

If you think like that you'll never do anything in life, that's like saying oh somebody walking on the street fell over once well I'm never gonna walk because you will fall over

I’d like more info/recommendations about this if you have it. My M3P in QS will be delivered next week and I want it to pop. I’m planning to get full body XPEL Ultimate Plus PPF. The shop is throwing in a free “ceramic boost spray”. Think that’ll do it?

Dolo12345 2025-12-24 19:22

Personally I have full frontal PPF and ceramic in the back. It’s all XPEL, but the PPF is the “fusion” PPF which has a ceramic coat built in. You absolutely want a ceramic coat on top of the PPF, even if the PPF isn’t the fusion one. Most shops do this by default, but ask. You should also ask the shop how much paint correction will happen (how many stages, what percent correct, etc) I don’t think full body PPF is worth it. Also consider that PPF is more porous than paint, and it’s easier to permanently stain. You will have to be more careful than a ceramic coating in many cases, but the PPF pop > ceramic only pop imo. The ceramic boost is just a topper, you want a coating. The topper last a few weeks or months. Usually you have a ceramic topper on top of the coat and PPF to act as a sacrificial layer.

Thanks for the reply. I was leaning full body PPF because I was concerned about the front being glossier than the rest of the car if I did only front PPF. I guess that’s not an issue if you also do ceramic on the rest of the car? Also, do you have an opinion on which is better between the Fusion PPF vs. the Ultimate Plus with ceramic spray added?

Dolo12345 2025-12-24 19:31

Not an issue at all if the back is all ceramic. Only under certain lighting (some street lights at night) will the PPF look more “wet”. Go with fusion for sure. Again the ceramic spray is a topper not a coating. Fusion has a coating. You’d have to reapply the topper monthly with micro fibers and clean paint (can take quite a bit of time). You’d apply it regardless if the PPF has a coating or not.
