I agree the first replacement pack was a 75 kwh pack also my car originally shipped with the 82kwh pack. I guess Tesla can throw whatever they want in it.

I didn’t know the dual motor cars had HV issues for model year 2021.
My cousins SR+ battery gave out at 76k miles. The replacement is an LFP battery that he’s hoping will last a while.

At least it's under warranty. I would sell that car afterwards and get more money for that year seems yoi can put down it's got a new refurbished pack. I always hear of 2021 models having HV failures

Nearly everything in 2020/2021 has a high failure rate because there was poor quality control due to covid shutdowns. Like, the rate of TVs and electronics made that year breaking are incredibly high compared to the average. It was all junk.

A lot of them seem to fail in that 60k-70k range. Mine failed around 63k.

Any can, but the Tesla one usually has. 2021 packs on Korea have 25-30% failed rate. And TeLa replace HV packs with the same bad packs that just will get you to the warranty limits

Generally, packs that fall to the 2021 curse get replaced by refurbs that are cobbled together from other packs that also fell to the 2021 curse. There’s a very good chance another module in these refurbs is also a time bomb. It’s a very shitty situation.

My 2020 m3 is on its 3rd hv pack,2 of the other hv packs failed within 4 weeks of each other 😵💫
Hopefully the 3rd pack lasts till the agreement is finished in March 2026 🫣

On my estimate from Tesla I think my pack will be new since there is no rmn after the part number. I'm praying I hit the lottery on this one. I will be dropping the car off next week so fingers crossed.

My car is waiting for its second replacement pack. I’m not sure but reading up on it it seems you can’t trust the remanufactured packs at all.
Better to give the car away before warranty ends.

Ditto here. First BMS fail was @71,000 miles. Last week it threw the error at 99,250 miles. They said itll be another refurbished, or 'reman pack'. Makes me nervous. But battery packs dont just fall apart overnight. They degrade slowly. So, ill be doing a battery test when i get it back, then at a certain interval, ill do it so I can monitor individual cell resistance. That can give a warning about issues developing. I won't do any more mods on this car because i just dont trust the pack. But ill stay with Tesla because i know its the panasonic packs fro. That era causing the issue. And frankly, they have handled it like pros.

Yep, I read that these faulty NMC packs are Panasonic built, specifically from 2021, but also some from 2022-23, to a far lesser degree.

I have a 2021 SR+ that made it 26000 miles before the BMS a079 code came up. I signed a waiver from Tesla to install a heavier LFP battery that required stiffer struts. On a referal, which was rejected by Tesla, my sister bought a 2021 model 3 long range and the same code just popped up at 28,000 miles after she left it parked and plugged in for 7 straight weeks at 100 % charge. Sounds like a recipe for battery failure, but in any case an out of warranty tesla is a big gamble. Hoping I can get 50% of the cost of mine in resale.
