How to tell when FSD is active

robwilloughby | 2025-12-20 21:13 | 22 views

Picking up a 2023 Model 3 for my wife Monday. Bought it used through Tesla, and the listing on their site said 3 Months of FSD and 3 months of Free Supercharging included. My question is how do I activate this when we take delivery- or is it already just active for the next 3 months? Is there somewhere I go in settings, is the FSD and Free Supercharging already loaded on my account at pickup? I can’t seem to find anything on their site.

Why not ask the fella when you go pick it up to run you through the basics? Instead of having someone try to describe the process to you lmao.

The FSD and supercharging promo won’t be in your account anywhere, just under the car’s subscriptions. They should start the day you take delivery and you’ll see them in the app under Upgrades after you take delivery and connect your phone to the car

You activate FSD by “double clicking” the right stalk. There will be two detents. Pull down till you feel the second one. You’ll feel the first one, the second will not let you pull any further. You’ll know FSD is on, by seeing a solid blue line coming from the front of the car in the infotainment screen. Autopilot is designated by having two blue lines on the side of the car.

I believe it also puts a blue or green steering wheel at the top left.. can't remember the color however. Also, just let go of the wheel and see what happens, You'll know pretty quick if you have FSD on or not. ( don't do that )
