Sexy Mod for M3 Nova 19in Rims

faisalfarooqui | 2025-12-19 16:58 | 143 views

Has anyone tried this simple mod of removing all the black plastic caps on their M3 with Nova rims? This is the first time I’ve seen this and I think it looks sharp! I’m curious if anyone with Stealth Grey and Nova rims have tried this? Perhaps can you share a couple pics? I’m thinking of trying this but wanted to see what it looked like on that color. It’s sharp on Silver.

I don'have this mod but dammit that front lip is gorgeous

Yes it is. Came across this pic on Yeslak in case you want to get that lip.

Not sure exactly. Saw the pic on Yeslak website. But agreed. Gorgeous color

What black plastic caps are you referring to? Lug nut covers? If so there must be aftermarket center caps added here.

faisalfarooqui 2025-12-19 18:34

The caps that are affixed to the outer part of the rim and the center cap.

Oh the aero covers? Yeah I wouldn’t even call that a mod. It’s discussed almost daily in here.

faisalfarooqui 2025-12-19 18:56

Yes, those covers. I must’ve missed it. I’m on here daily and haven’t seen a post about it. That’s why I asked the question.

I have a stealth grey and have done this. Don’t like it. I feel like it looks incomplete. I’ve installed HaloBlk discs instead.

Looks like quicksilver OEM paint I think

Isaak1404 2025-12-19 21:55

yeah i don’t think it’s a mod especially when people pay extra to have these rims, it’s 100% encouraged to remove the hubcaps so that you can see the rims you bought lol.

Looks like a satin ppf Edit: actually it doesn’t I’m just blind

Not a fan of it on the Novas, where the covers sit between the alloy instead of over the top of it. Especially the rim lip around the outside, it just looks messy and unkempt with the caps off. Personally I like the larger cap around the center on most EVs to give a more clean/aero look(with the lugs hidden under a smooth surface), but I could see that one being a bit more subjective than the rim lip.

If you want better aerodynamics, you leave them on. If you want better looks, you take them off.

Flaeskestegen 2025-12-23 11:11

No, not the aero covers. Theres some black trims on the inner edge of the 19" nova wheels.

p3dal 2025-12-23 16:35

What are they, if not aero covers? I'm googling and all I'm finding are aero covers, even if they don't cover quite as much as previous aero covers.

Flaeskestegen 2025-12-23 20:38

They're just trim. Artistic choise from Tesla. Range wont be affected by removing them.

p3dal 2025-12-23 20:39

Can you show me what you're referring to? I've never seen any clip on wheel plastic from Tesla that improved looks but not aerodynamics (or improved looks at all). Everything I can find for the model 3 nova 19" wheels matches that description.

Flaeskestegen 2025-12-23 20:45

Sure. The black parts on the edge of the nova rims. (One of the pieces have a hole for the air valve). I left mine off last time I changed my tires and have noticed zero difference in range. The difference when I took the literal aero-covers off my 18" on my older Model 3 was noticable.

p3dal 2025-12-23 20:57

Gotcha. You left the lug covers on then? I'm finding mixed results online as to whether they are referred to as aero covers or wheel covers. They sure look like they would improve aerodynamics, as it doesn't take much. I can't imagine why they would add them otherwise as it seems like almost everyone prefers the look of the wheels without them.
