Thanks I think it did help. I ended up just ordering a 6-50p which is same as hobarts, hopefully it fits but it’s from Amazon so easy return if not.

Looks like a 6-50 to me. I have the same one in my shop for welder/EV.

This is a NEMA 6-50. 240V 50A with two hots and a ground. Tesla makes a mobile adapter for it. It's what I have on my house and what I think should have become the standard for EVSE. Makes no sense to use the 14-50 with an extra wire that will never be used, unless you're also hooking up an RV.

Would probably be better off buying from Tesla directly so you can get the actual connecter instead of an adapter.

The one I got from Amazon plugs directly into the mobile connector, same as the tesla one :)

You might want to replace that with a ceramic receptacle of your choosing (6-50 or 14-50).
That plastic one pictured may melt with hours and hours of continuous use. They are not made for that.

Google lens won't always tell you the right thing. You've got a 6-50. 240 Volts grounded.
