V14.2.1 Take Over Immediately

Signal-Pen-6372 | 2025-12-13 19:17 | 23 views

I am being bombarded with this at least 15 times thus far. I reset the car and the cameras and issue still persists. I’m surprised I am not seeing this issue reported more wide spread. So is no one having this problem? Should I take to Tesla themselves and will they actually do anything? 6560 Miles 2024 Highland

There's something called Google use it

Just me on a road with stripes day time no one around. One time while stopped at a light that hadn’t changed colors at all, was not the lead car. Also in neighborhood and turning into plaza without stripes. Also after getting into a turn lane. Also while being the lead car already stopped at a light that hasn’t changed. All day time.

No mass mentions when using google of the most recent software doing this continuously.

It's the cameras. 14.2 is overly cautious and if it see's something that could potentially be a problem it will freak out if the camera on that side is dirty or even has sun glare.

A little confused: is the car requiring you to take control? I found that I can't wear a hat while driving without having the car ask for hands on the wheel pretty often. Also my wife has a similar issue with her glasses that go dark to be like sunglasses. In cabin camera has to see your eyes.

Yes it puts hazards on and says take over immediately but I have to jerk the steering wheel pretty hard to do so. In some cases it’s while actively going the speed limit and then it starts like super fast light tapping the brakes. About twice it has flashed this like 5 times intermittently within a mile and kept trying to go but it eventually failed entirely. Additionally, the only time I have ever had this issue otherwise was on the highway on older versions when I would cause it to speed too much or from looking at a phone or something. Finally, in all of these recent scenarios I have no hat or glasses, seat is in a normal position, paying attention and on the first spurt of self driving it works fine for awhile. Then once it throws the error the first time it just keeps on throwing the error over and over for seemingly no reason, to the point where it won’t even let me reactivate self driving on the current drive.

Yeah I assume so. Hoping additional updates will fix my issue and I don’t plan to bring to Tesla service until further releases and I continue having this problem.

On the inside where the front camera is? You have to partly disassemble the rear view mirror and swing the assembly back. Did you do all that?

Signal-Pen-6372 2025-12-16 00:03

Will look into that

Tesla may do it for you for free, especially if you've never had them do it.
