Track Mode in Snow

OldFargoan | 2025-12-06 15:16 | 49 views

I got this '25 M3P in September. I thought I'd use this fresh snow and try the Drift preset. It's a lot of fun but at the same time, sure uses a lot of juice! I'm sure it got a little extra heat in the battery though so that'll be good. You can see on the graph where I turned the track mode off. I used to slide my 2019 M3P around but this 2025 seemed a little more ready to break loose but also easier to recover. Makes me miss my old RWD cars.

Yeah it heats and activates all the cooling for battery because it assumes you’re going to thrash it on a race track. I wish there was just a way to disable TCS

I disable the TCS for snow drifting via the [S3XY commander](https://www.enhauto.com/pages/commander?srsltid=AfmBOopbupQf62V2fCc6j_9Evo2YZ1kY1N6dmqCSSREPyxjMrQquvO0V)… I actually bought it to disable the auto-wipers, but Drift Mode was included. Finally confirmed my suspicion that this car would be really good at going sideways! I have an LR, so no Track Mode. I’ve also found “Off Road” mode useful, for when the roads are REALLY bad.

Try the "slip start" setting 😉

I love track mode in the snow... But be warned, you'll wear through tires and take chunks out of them, and if you drive aggressively, you'll burn through rear pads quickly.

If you enjoy doing this kind of driving, I strongly recommend you get the S3XY buttons with commander module to use their own Drift Mode. It is night and day compared to Tesla's Track Mode for drifting and just snow shenanigans. S3Xy's mode actually fully disables everything. Traction control and stability controls are fully off, not just "permissive to going sideways" like Tesla's. You'll be able to spin the wheels much faster, including flooring it in a straight line which Tesla's Track Mode completely forbids, even with "slip start" added.

How soon before TCS kicks in tho lol I’ll try it when the snow hits finally

OldFargoan 2025-12-06 18:44

I was trying to stick to the really glazed over areas, but could tell it'll have no trouble killing the tires if I asked it to.

OldFargoan 2025-12-06 18:45

I did plenty of flooring it in a straight line. It was great to feel all four tires break loose.

40mph

jimmy9120 2025-12-06 19:25

That’s insane, I figured 5-10mph lol

Can you please tell me more about this? I don't see anything about the S3XY commander online for using it to disable TCS. Is this easy to do with it?

Psygo 2025-12-07 10:29

doesnt disable stability control though, just traction control.

PM_VAGINA_FOR_RATING 2025-12-07 15:53

Very easy, and dangerous if not takin seriously tbh.

Enhauto calls it “[Drift Mode](https://www.enhauto.com/pages/buttons-functions?srsltid=AfmBOooGM5OqV3_8Sv4i5pjKMnB5ZNPP_HtGo9b1FSC55xByADNE3M8K#model=model3&&year=2020-2025)”

How can you enable Off road mode on Tesla model 3 Performance 2025? Is S3XY Commander required for this?

endfossilfuel 2026-01-29 02:36

I think you can access it through Controls > Dynamics > Off-Road Assist
