You bought a Tesla with almost 200k miles which is not even bad but don’t expect the range to be that good.

Sadly 2019 models has been made without heat pump, so the cold weather has a bigger impact on them. Summer will be much better my friend.. enjoy the car

2019 SR+ with 170,000 kms on it in Nova Scotia. I bought it new.
Pre-heat the car while plugged in before a trip. When I pre-heat, I only lose around 10% in the coldest weather. 25C seems a bit high for the heat. If you have to turn it up that high to get things warm, maybe check your cabin filter. It probably hasn't been changed ever or your electric heater is going. Mine went at around 140,000 kms.
Also, if you're driving well over the speed limit, slow down. High speed drains the battery more quickly.
I have no idea how many kms the car shows at any percentage. I switched the display to % when I got the car and haven't thought about it since.

Oh wow okay, thanks for sharing. What adjustments do you find help to preserve energy?

Amazing tips, thank you for that! How long do you preheat for usually and at what temp?

When you set a scheduled departure time, it automatically preheats the battery.

mine is the same model but 155,000km
range at 100% is about 295km. I live in the italian alps.
it is normal the car never had a much higher range, i had this since new.
Also the heater on auto uses 5-8% per hour if its cold and windy, in manual you can drop to 4%.
Initial warming also uses more energy.

Thanks a lot for your input, good to know! During the summer where you are, does the range increase slightly?

yes, it uses much less energy. But if you take a one long trip with preheat they’re similar.
What impacts me the most is small hops between clients. Every time I jump in the car it uses 4-5% to heat up the cabin and by the time i’m finished with a client the cabin is cold again. And sometimes I just can’t be bothered to wear a snow jacket in town.
I think once I managed to drain a near full battery with just 160km traveled.

hey man, today I used the car quite a lot. Started at 100% in the morning - 3 long stops in the day - Climate 20c manual with fan at 4 - weather temp was between 7c and 1c
I have traveled 215km in this charge and still have 21% left. Driven mostly carefully but all in the mountain roads as there was some icing on some roads.
So I think it could do max 270km in this weather.
Car reports 135wh/km and 29kwh used.
Driving 59.1%
Climate 14%
Elevation 1%
Everything Else 3,2%

135? Wow that’s actually pretty good. Out here in Canada it’s 1 degree Celsius. Over the last couple days it’s been about 196 wh/km. 135 is great! Lowering the temp and fan helped Im assuming? That’s pretty great range, happy to hear that
