M3P Highland Dynamics

palsgraf_24 | 2025-12-05 00:08 | 44 views

Out of curiosity, for those of you with a newer performance model, which Dynamics settings do you use for daily use? For acceleration: Chill, Standard, or Insane? For Ride & Handling: Standard or Sport? Steering Weight: Light, Standard, or Heavy?

Bout to just use chill mode on mines.  There’s always someone on my commute doing 20 below in front of me anyway :(

Chill and standard dampening. Sport wont do anything but give you a harsher ride. Use sport on a road course thays about it.

Asleep-Set6868 2025-12-05 00:36

Standard / Standard / Heavy.  I used to have a 2018 M3 AWD without the accel boost, and normal acceleration is fast enough for me.  Insane is a cool trick to show off once in a while, but it will make you burn through tires unless you have a very light foot.  There isn't much of a difference in feel for me between standard and sport handling, but standard is a little more comfortable over road imperfections so I go with that.  I prefer heavy for the steering weight.

Seansong82 2025-12-05 00:46

Always Insane for the pedal and Standard for ride, I use FSD a lot though which drives in Standard. Edit: Steering wheel on Light

No-Dark-3932 2025-12-05 00:53

Insane, standard, heavy

starkiller_bass 2025-12-05 01:04

Insane / sport / standard

TheTinMan1234 2025-12-05 01:15

Same settings but I use gadgets mostly.

Pro_Vita1925 2025-12-05 01:47

2025- Insane/ Heavy/ Sport “Use standard ride and handling on autopilot” enabled

Prestigious-Cheek842 2025-12-05 01:59

Standard / sport / heavy

RScottyL 2025-12-05 02:26

Usually STANDARD

gwinerreniwg 2025-12-05 02:27

Insane, standard, lite here

Chief_Biv 2025-12-05 02:53

Insane, Standard , Standard for daily drive.

Xervious 2025-12-05 02:55

insane/standard/standard. the pedal pressure is really good so you have to really force it to go fast. why let all of that potential slip away?

gym4c 2025-12-05 03:08

I tend to do Chill, Standard and Heavy. There’s a bunch of construction near me so the roads are terrible and always traffic. Once it opens up, then you will see me with new settings lol

DameLasNalgas 2025-12-05 03:21

Acceleration: always insane. Ride/Steering: always standard

djbriankeith 2025-12-05 03:28

Always Insane and standard. I like the nimbleness and speed when I need it. Only exception is snow or ice I have it in chilll.

slasher016 2025-12-05 03:44

I use standard standard heavy. I like a firm steering wheel. If I'm going to having fun I switch to insane/sport but not for daily driving.

slasher016 2025-12-05 03:46

Well it has to heat the battery to do insane so in the current frigid north it's kinda a waste of energy right now.

Linkd 2025-12-05 03:54

I’m surprised at the amount of heavy steering users here. I’ve always stuck to light but now I’m curious

and1too-0323 2025-12-05 04:05

Insane - standard - heavy

brayjr 2025-12-05 04:06

Acceleration: Insane Ride: Standard Steering: Heavy

AJHenderson 2025-12-05 04:52

Insane/sport/heavy is the only way to fly. Had mine almost a year and a half and it's never been out of insane mode or heavy steering. I do have FSD set to automatically switch to standard though.

AJHenderson 2025-12-05 04:59

It doesn't waste that much.

AJHenderson 2025-12-05 04:59

This is the way. Though mine is a day 1 order for the 24.

AJHenderson 2025-12-05 05:01

Honestly, even "heavy" is light to me. Having some resistance makes precision maneuvering easier.

AJHenderson 2025-12-05 05:04

Sport gives much better road feel even when you aren't doing harsh cornering. It's much more engaging even if not strictly needed for daily.

tacobell_shitstain 2025-12-05 05:30

Insane 24/7. Everything else in standard.

canonisti 2025-12-05 05:40

I prefer the steering on light, seems like a first in this thread 😅 I've got a few combos I often use: Summer, alone: Insane/Sport/Light Summer, 1+ passengers: Insane/Standard/Light Winter: Chill/Standard/Light, sometimes acceleration on standard on faster roads. I try to keep it on chill to not destroy the proper winter tires, which are much softer than normal.

RSn0tch 2025-12-05 05:47

Insane / Standard / Heavy

-Fonsi- 2025-12-05 07:44

insane - standard - standard

xylarr 2025-12-05 08:56

Standard/Standard/Standard. Though I wish there was something that would tighten up the suspension when going over speed humps, which are popular where I am. If I judge the speed wrong, and the speed humps resonate with the compression/rebound rate, the car heaves so much I have struck the middle of the car with the hump.

[deleted] 2025-12-05 10:17

Yep harsher - feel every tar strip. Not much road feedback needed from my drive from house to work. If I wanted that id buy another vette. Im lowered 1.5" on my m3p, zero reason for me to use sport if im not auto crossing which i dont. Cool feature tho but this is my work car and I want it plush as possible (while still looking good)

[deleted] 2025-12-05 10:57

To me its too touchy. Its the 0-40mph from a stoplight that scrubs your tires the most without you trying. Chill really helps with that. Left scroll wheel is set to press and hold for accel mode if needed.

lisztomania7 2025-12-05 12:49

Insane / Standard / Standard Acceleration: I paid a ton of extra $$$ for the performance version.....I don't understand why anyone would do that and NOT want the additional performance always ready to go?? It's not difficult at all to drive slowly, as needed, even in Insane mode. I've never bothered to use anything other than Insane for more than 30 seconds. Ride & Handling: I tried to always leave this in Sport, but it seems that (from my experience), it always resets to Standard at the start of each drive, so you would have to manually change it each time. Honestly, I don't notice much of a difference. Steering Weight: I think this is just preference - Standard is best for me.

AJHenderson 2025-12-05 13:08

It's not just harsher. I'm talking steering wheel feel high frequency vibration stuff. That's very useful information even in daily driving, especially if it's rainy or snowy and need the traction feedback. Not saying it's not fine to prefer comfort, but sport mode doesn't just make it more harsh.

huh_say_what_now_ 2025-12-05 13:21

Insane, I put coilovers and upgraded swaybars in and their cranked up so zero body roll, and standard steering

rex_regum 2025-12-05 14:37

I daily it in Chill/Standard/Light, and I very well may be alone in that lol

lordbancs 2025-12-05 15:46

Standard chill and standard. I have a yoke and would keep it on light before the yoke though

CompetitiveSmell5592 2025-12-05 16:36

Standard for it all

Skeenotihk_ 2025-12-05 18:15

Same

muayshyguy 2025-12-05 19:15

Same here unless I'm on some fun windy roads, then it is Insane/Sport/Heavy

imnmpbaby 2025-12-05 19:25

Same!

Honest_Annual8802 2025-12-05 19:27

Always in insane. Stupid car puts my profile always in Sport, even when I stop it in standard😅, so i just live with it. For steering: I enjoy the light option in the city and love the heavy one for highway (Autobahn) drive.

tonyp126 2025-12-05 20:16

Insane/Standard/Heavy for me.

sim16 2025-12-05 20:37

You're the one with the foot on the accelerator. Kicking it when already moving has less stress on the car and its tyres. That said, mines in go fast mode with heavy steering. I only change steering mode, it's always go fast when I want it.

WrongdoerIll5187 2025-12-05 22:26

I use Insane acceleration, mostly standard handling but if I'm feeling stupid I'll switch it into sport handling, steering weight standard. But I do have FSD so mostly drive with that and that automatically switches you to standard handling. It's a good balance, I'm usually pretty soft on the pedal but if I am driving it's probably for fun.

XsobervisionsX 2025-12-06 00:19

Insane lite sport

PrefersCake 2025-12-06 04:32

Insane, Standard, Heavy

Opening_Pizza_9428 2025-12-06 12:17

You should try the first gen M3 AWD. Terrible pedal calibration in nornal mode, very hard to modulate it. But in chill mode, you cannot have the power when you need it. Both modes are badly written. Highland M3P can be used as a daily even in insane mode

[deleted] 2025-12-06 22:21

I agree, I just don't need the power unexpected 99% of the time. Just a work car, I have race cars to do fast fast.

Fabulous_Scale4771 2025-12-08 05:53

Insane, Sport, Light

broodro0ster 2025-12-09 09:06

It depends: Steering wheel always heavy Acceleration now usually standard during winter. The roads are always wet in winter over here and there a lot of traffic jams. The throttle is a bit less responsive so the car is easier to drive slow. I do have a S3XY button on the steering wheel to switch to insane mode when I can accelerate flatout. Suspension on standard most of the time. But since a few updates, you can now switch to sport with the left scroll wheel. So when I enter the ramps up on the highway and there is no car in front of me, I switch to sport. Or when there is a backroad with no traffic. When when there is not sporty driving involved, just standard.

Sufficient_Rain754 2025-12-10 12:48

Insane, sport, heavy

NiceBench9100 2025-12-13 03:07

What is highland?

theolivierb 2025-12-19 02:31

I use Insane/Sport/Heavy options on a 25 M3P. I’m sure it affects range, but most fun driving experience.
