You guys know about the web browser game emulator trick?

ZestycloseCry5643 | 2025-12-03 02:19 | 171 views

Retrogames.cc is the website I use. Unfortunately some of the functionality isn't what it was a year ago, where you can't turn off the in game sound and play music over top, and some of the games have stuttering issues. Nonetheless very fun with a Bluetooth controller. Just bought another for two player, I'll let you know how that goes.

Hmmm

GoofyGills 2025-12-03 02:42

You can also host RomM at home and use a reverse proxy or VPN to connect to it on any display with a browser.

Oooo never heard of this, thank uuuu

GoofyGills 2025-12-03 02:49

Here's a link to the website. Github link at the top right of the page. https://romm.app/

Yup I use romm. It's fantastic. A few bugs here and there however.

O2L 2025-12-03 04:10

Damn it. Why’d you have to go and tell me about this.

TAoie83 2025-12-03 06:40

So you can throw green shells in real life when your brain makes that mistake in the primary motor cortex.

Windstar343 2025-12-03 07:20

Forget the emu for a second… look at that view.

Sabertoox 2025-12-03 10:52

justinreddit1 2025-12-03 14:00

They’re just saying you can install the program to your home computer, change some settings in your router, and log in to your computer in the Model 3 browser to play from your car. Probably would take 15 minutes if you need to look up instructions and then it works forever!

jburnelli 2025-12-03 15:51

what do you need the VPN or proxy for?

GoofyGills 2025-12-03 16:15

So you can access it when you're not on your home wifi.

jburnelli 2025-12-03 16:40

yeah, i just port forward for stuff like that.

GoofyGills 2025-12-03 16:42

With a reverse proxy you only port forward 80 and 443 rather poking holes all over your network. So when you remote access things are you just using Public IP:Port? If so, that's pretty awful from a security perspective.

jburnelli 2025-12-03 17:18

yeah, it's a home network dawg, it'll be fine. Reverse proxy setup at home is a lot of overkill for 95% of the use cases. It's really more about efficiency and more tools available. For this case, just a port forward to a docker is fine, simpler to use on the client side overall way less headache.

Bubblegum_charge13 2025-12-03 17:54

Are you in GTA playing mario cart in your tesla?

GoofyGills 2025-12-03 18:18

Lmao okay then.

Alucardis666 2025-12-03 19:51

I had no idea, thanks for letting me know!

pres3rvation 2025-12-03 23:08

Dominos on the dash.. wow 🤯

Mission_Archer_6436 2025-12-03 23:10

I’ve tried turning my vpn on my iPhone, then using it as a hotspot for the Tesla but I can’t connect to my home network. Is there another way to do it?

peachole 2025-12-04 03:05

Thats a great view

pedalmachine 2025-12-04 04:24

Which Bluetooth controllers do y'all use?

dts-five 2025-12-04 12:24

That’s my favorite thing about the frunk. No food smells in the vehicle. Not to mention grease leaking through the box…

dts-five 2025-12-04 12:26

I have the intel browser, it is usually not a great experience. But it’s cool to know.

jburnelli 2025-12-04 15:35

does it run well in the tesla browser? I tried the ROMM demo site but it doesn't run well, audio stutters and it lags a lot, maybe there's some settings im missing.

ZestycloseCry5643 2025-12-04 22:02

I use a ps5 controller & I just bought a knock-off ps5 controller with light up buttons

Trublu20 2025-12-05 01:12

This is your non automated 1 day later reminder!

Straight_View_6838 2025-12-05 11:43

pedalmachine 2025-12-05 20:27
