Go to a detailer and get a quote for paint correction. You can get PPF if you want to prevent the issue in the future, as Tesla paint is very soft, but PPF costs many thousands, almost the same as a wrap.

Paint correction.. its a very soft paint so I'd recommend hiring a pro. It would be roughly $1000-2000 (8 hours of time ish)

fujimonster 2025-11-30 16:48

Well, Tesla themselves recommends only using a touchless car wash because of the risk to paint damage . I’d seek out a detailer to see what they can do — Tesla link recommending only touchless but I’m sure it’s in the manual as well — https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/modely/en_us/GUID-65384C1F-86F2-44E8-A8BC-8A12E7E00A40.html

It’s just a car. Drive it into the ground and don’t worry about little things like this.

derpyninja 2025-11-30 17:08

It’s their car. And they could feel however they want about it. Especially if they want to care about something that’s expensive af

jaqueh 2025-11-30 17:18

Guys it’s a mass produced depreciating car. It’s not a Porsche and definitely not a Ferrari or even a g wagon. Just move on with your life

Travelin_Texan 2025-11-30 17:29

This, they’re literally cheaper than most mid level sedans nowadays

dantodd 2025-11-30 17:29

More than a wrap

dantodd 2025-11-30 17:31

Believe it or not time people even take care of Toyotas.

Academic_Release5134 2025-11-30 17:32

They are free to I agree. However, sometimes a little perspective is good. You can take care of something and still have swirls

jaqueh 2025-11-30 17:34

Ok but when they have 100k miles on them most people aren’t doing paint corrections on them anymore

jaqueh 2025-11-30 17:34

How much are Corollas??

dantodd 2025-11-30 17:37

That's true. Not sure ift your point though.

jaqueh 2025-11-30 17:39

That this car is meant to be driven to those miles like a Corolla. I always obsess over my car the first 50k miles then stop caring and take it to a car wash earlier. Now that I have a newborn, I’d much rather just take the damn thing to a car wash from the outset.

dantodd 2025-11-30 17:42

And you are more than welcome to line your life as you choose. But why must you tell others how to treat their car?

SunknLiner 2025-11-30 17:47

But touchless washes turn the black trim rainbow.

jaqueh 2025-11-30 17:52

Because it’s the internet and opinions are like mouth holes

p3dal 2025-11-30 17:54

Depends on the wrap, I suppose.

ScorpionMaster777 2025-11-30 17:56

Come on bro, the paint on these things is ridiculous

dantodd 2025-11-30 18:09

PPF is a more expensive product because it is much better. Longer lasting, self repairing, thicker to resist damage, etc. The only disadvantage is color selection. Unless you only get partial coverage it is more expensive than a vinyl wrap.

p3dal 2025-11-30 18:23

GR Corolla Premium Plus starts at $45,515.

I don't understand why folks conitnue to take their Teslas to your typical crappy brush car wash and then cry about swirls/scratches when Tesla's crap paint quality has been reported upon and idscussed ad naseum since they started selling cars. Like what were you expecting? As for what you can do at this point, if the swirls are fairly superficial then you can buff them out fairly easily with polish compound and a rotary polisher with a fine pad. If you have never done this before, I would have a detailing shop do it although paint correction (when properly done) is time consuming and can be expensive. Now, if the swirls are etched deep into the clear coat, then buffing them out may not be possible as it wil take off too much of the clear coat or take it off completely. Worst case scenario, the damage is actually the base coat fracturing in which the only way to fix it is to sand it down to the base surface and repaint.

amoeba1126 2025-12-01 00:15

Believe it or not, some folks actually care about keeping their things looking nice. It has nothing to do with whether the car is mass produced or not or retaining its value.

LurkerWithAnAccount 2025-12-01 02:05

Gotta put PPF on the black window trim to avoid the clown vomit rainbow look
