Free FSD 14.2 trial!

Which car do you have and how did you find out, was it a pop up or did you go into a setting?

Not OP but I have a ‘24 model 3. I got an email and an app notification.

Same but I haven’t got the email yet. Just saw it on Not a Tesla App.

I got the email this afternoon too!

It pretty much has been as long as there’s a major version release, i.e., V12, V13, V14 etc.

Per the article, no since it’s only a V14 trial which isn’t available for HW3.

They do this as a win win situation, people can use FSD for travel and Tesla gets their data. They did this last year as well, I held off installing the update and it was extended longer but not sure if it's the same this time. I got an email this afternoon and when I checked my '24 M3P it was updating from 2025.38.9 to 2025.38.9.6. https://www.tesla.com/support/fsd/v14-trial

Both HW4, 3 and Y. On a car that had FSD 13 but not subscribed, got the notification + email. On a car that is on the subscription and FSD 14.2, nothing yet.

I have FSD, but tried 14.2 for the first time yesterday. It was flawless. Smooth as butter.

I am still on 2025.38.9. 2025.38.9.5 or 2025.38.9.6 are required to be installed for the FSD trial. So…I’m still waiting for the update.

Also still on 2025.38.9. Still no update still no FSD trial.

Same here. Give it time. They usually don’t roll out all at once, similar to their regular software updates.

How long does this trial last? It says “for the holidays”. So through new year maybe?

I got the email and I updated to 2025.38.9.6 but I didn’t get the FSD trial. My FSD version on the car is still v12. Any thoughts?

same question for me lol. Clicked on their faq and it doesn’t say either. Was going to hold off on installing it for a couple days thinking it was just 30 days but might go ahead and install it today if they’re just going to give it to us for the “holidays”

Yeah interesting, normally they say it’s a free 30 day trial but it wouldn’t surprise me if they push it a little further through the end of the year.

Just took it for a 40 mile round trip ride. The to ride was flawless. Never had to touch the wheel, brake or accelerator. The only time I had to intervene on the way back was at a stop light that had a No Turn on Red sign. It tried to turn right on red and I had to brake. Why doesn’t Tesla show a sign on screen that says “No Turn on Red” the same way show the Speed Limit signs on screen so we can see that it has seen the sign?

I was holding off so I could keep it till the 2nd or 3rd of next month (traveling) but hopefully the holidays for them means till after new years

At a minimum, Autosteer should be using the same FSD stack.

Looks like it goes until at least 1/10. At least that’s what mine says after installing this morning.

Yes! Meant to update here but it’s been a busy day. I got the email saying the same thing after installing. Pretty cool to extend it for that long (I get they’re using us lol but still)
