he also said we would be on the moon this year

the_mooseman 2025-11-03 13:07

Cough. Bullshit.

the_mooseman 2025-11-03 13:08

Yeah, Elon says a lot of shit.

[deleted] 2025-11-03 13:08

From the company that hasn’t delivered on FSD or Robots, it’s flying cars to justify an astronomical share price.

SisterOfBattIe 2025-11-03 13:09

>If you took all the James Bond cars and combined them, it’s crazier than that. Just a reminder that fictional Bond car have been shown to be armed, flying, be boats, submarines and more... And a flying car is known with another name. HELICOPTER. How many Tesla's buyers have an helicopter flying license?

DonAmecho777 2025-11-03 13:12

So is Jesus. I’m gonna just do my thing and not bother with Elons bs promises

ComicsEtAl 2025-11-03 13:12

You know what’s infinitely better than skeptically writing about and debunking obvious bullshit? Not reporting obvious bullshit at all.

Minorous 2025-11-03 13:13

With 150 Ton payload, the dick rockets can't reach earths orbit.

SC_W33DKILL3R 2025-11-03 13:13

He loves to find new and unusual ways to kill his customers.

LVegasGuy 2025-11-03 13:14

I joked for years that Elon would announce flying Teslas that run on water. So far I am half right 😀

dpdxguy 2025-11-03 13:16

A new Tesla vehicle. Now with even less range!

hooblyshoobly 2025-11-03 13:16

He said they would be on mars by now already nevermind the moon, with a ship that had onboard cinemas, bowling, zero G games etc. He’s a snake oil salesman through and through.

HesterMoffett 2025-11-03 13:17

Aren't we supposed to have cars that can drive across country without human intervention by now?

BMP77777 2025-11-03 13:17

I wouldn’t believe it if it was true at this point. Shameless in the never ending quest for more money and power

carbon_blob_Sector7G 2025-11-03 13:20

I'm still waiting for FSD to be Full Self Drive.

clueless_in_ny_or_nj 2025-11-03 13:20

The demo is going to be some really bad CGI.

Zookeeper187 2025-11-03 13:22

What happened to Cybertruck revolutionizing automotive industry?

sharkism 2025-11-03 13:23

Well, he already drove Tesla off a cliff, that counts as flying, right?

Secure_Guest_6171 2025-11-03 13:24

That was promised for 2019

Apprehensive-Box-8 2025-11-03 13:24

>Is it even a car? It looks like a car. Let’s just put it this way. It’s crazier than anything James Bond. If you took all the James Bond cars and combined them, it’s crazier than that. Here is hoping it has a submarine mode for tech billionaires trying to have a look at shipwrecks...

UmichAgnos 2025-11-03 13:26

They still have another month to design and build a lander, and a rocket powerful enough to get us to the moon.

No_Badger_460 2025-11-03 13:27

Even if it was possible to get it going, why would you trust anything he built? The quality is suspect and what is the purpose of this model? Tesla Roadster... the device you use to hunt your community. Idiot

foo-bar-25 2025-11-03 13:28

Wonder why he didn’t got straight to teleportation.

ericscottf 2025-11-03 13:28

17

ATX_native 2025-11-03 13:29

$100 this involves a long hype cycle and a man dressed as a robot pulling a lever that catapults a car using a gigantic sling.

[ Removed by Reddit ]

UmichAgnos 2025-11-03 13:30

Also terrifying: Trapped and drowning inside Tesla while under 5ft of water, because emergency services could not get in is a ridiculous way to go.

Scringus_Dingus 2025-11-03 13:30

Very nice.  Now lets sick Rick Allen (Elon) fly it.

stevenfrenc 2025-11-03 13:31

😂😂😂😂😂

pcw3187 2025-11-03 13:31

No it’s not

DryAssumption 2025-11-03 13:31

The only thing flying is the share price, powered only by bullshit

AndyTheSane 2025-11-03 13:32

Simply put the car into 'fly' mode. It locates the nearest multi story car park, drives to the top and then through the railings. The mode will then disengage, it's up to the driver to manage the landing in this version.

That-Makes-Sense 2025-11-03 13:32

I wouldn't go that far. He does often over promise and under deliver, but you can't deny that he has helped to revolutionize space travel. And he's pouring billions of dollars into Starship to try and take space travel to the next level.

SC_W33DKILL3R 2025-11-03 13:35

Or burning to death because the locks won't open and the windows are hardened glass, the opposite of what should and has been used in cars.

cockcoldton 2025-11-03 13:36

phony stark

someguyinaplace 2025-11-03 13:38

This thing is going to be beneficial to our gene pool in the long term.

Ifailedaccounting 2025-11-03 13:38

The only think flying is the lies he’s blowing out his rear

Rolling_Pugsly 2025-11-03 13:39

His fans are gullible idiots.

edgarapplepoe 2025-11-03 13:39

So taking bets on the following: 1. Elon reveals a Telsa branded eVOTL 2. Elon reveals a demo car that either hovers slightly or is some sort of electro magnetic 'hover for a minute that will never be released 3. Elon reveals a regular tesla or dummy model and then talks about how it will fly without demoing anything (ie like the battery swap gimmick or the initial optimus robot dancer).

Ascending_Valley 2025-11-03 13:40

Finally, raptor 5 coming soon.

fastwriter- 2025-11-03 13:40

Not quite. With Tesla having Cold Gas Thrusters on the Roadster, it has a ballistic trajectory only. No vertical start. And the landing will be a bit rough. But don’t worry, Airbags have been replaced by Grok Aibags. Much better and way cheaper. Stockprice goes to Mars!

meatbag2010 2025-11-03 13:41

I think I've already seen this one. Isn't a Model S going a silly speed over a hill and crashing? [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNiEPPVefUE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNiEPPVefUE)

Belzebutt 2025-11-03 13:41

By next year thousands of Optimus robots will be building a Mars base in preparation for humans, he said.

Eastern_Guess8854 2025-11-03 13:42

Demo’s are easy, building a real product is hard. He’ll likely start collecting pre-orders to claim future income in the financial calls, then it’ll be years of saying it’s coming and missing deadlines, while also promising new features nobody asked for, then if he finally gets a production line created he’ll change the prices and offer less of a product in the final iteration, while claiming the cheaper model come will later. It feels like a very predictable cycle at this point

SkinnyPete4 2025-11-03 13:42

Narrator: “It wasn’t.”

joeythemouse 2025-11-03 13:43

Flying monkeys will be coming out off my butthole first Elon.

Row-Maleficent 2025-11-03 13:43

Would Sodium batteries count as (sea)water to make you fully right! 👍

a_Sable_Genus 2025-11-03 13:45

Ivermectin has what the plants crave. It has electrolytes!

Full_Acadia_2780 2025-11-03 13:48

They will drop a Tesla from a helicopter at 8 km altitude like in Top Gear. Then we can watch a magnificent explosion when the batteries explode on impact.

North-Outside-5815 2025-11-03 13:50

He is so absolutely full of crap

North-Outside-5815 2025-11-03 13:51

He managed to fry a banana on a suborbital hop

UmichAgnos 2025-11-03 13:52

Yeah. Those doors and windows are choices that were made and approved. Why they didn't just follow suit is beyond me.

Public-Guidance-9560 2025-11-03 13:53

is it fuck.

Desperate-Hearing-55 2025-11-03 13:56

Roadster 2012 still waiting. Roadster Gen 2 2017 still waiting. Roadster Flying 2025 --> waiting how long?

Jonesy1966 2025-11-03 13:56

If it happens, which I think the vast majority know it won't, it won't actually 'fly'. Judging how Musk has talked about the 'new' tech, it may hover. What's the point? It's just bling for bling's sake. This is hilarious stuff!

dtyamada 2025-11-03 13:57

Unfortunately the word "demo" leaves a lot of room for bullshit. All he has to do is "levitate" for 2 s and people will be amazed. Even if its not moving at the time and probably on wires, they'll be amazed.

Crusoebear 2025-11-03 13:57

\[releases car from helicopter\] Elon: ”And now you’ll see our unpaid intern Kevin, who’s in the car, fire up the anti-gravity engines and gracefully zoom away from what would have been a catastrophic crash…”” \[car drops straight down, crashes & explodes\] ”Uh Kevin?” \[later at press conferenc\] ”As god as my witness - I thought cars could fly. But mostly, I blame Kevin.”

dtyamada 2025-11-03 13:58

Maybe he'll just launch it into space and call it flying?

CarsCarpal 2025-11-03 14:01

https://elonmusk.today/

Automatic_Soil9814 2025-11-03 14:02

He didn’t say it would be a positive revolution.

SuperBrett9 2025-11-03 14:03

Here we are not able to afford healthcare, mass layoffs, government workers not getting paid, and poor people not sure if they will get foods stamps so they don’t starve but we can buy flying cars soon. Fuck these billionaires.

Fockelot 2025-11-03 14:04

lol meanwhile Cathie Wood will call for Tesla price to $1000 and keep dumping shares while it’s hot.

sagetraveler 2025-11-03 14:04

He's going to strap a rocket booster to it and jump the Grand Canyon like Evel Knievel?

AllNoise-NoSignal 2025-11-03 14:05

One of Tesla's competitors in the robotics field is Figure AI, a company who's founder also founded Archer Aviation. I wonder if this is Elmo lashing out at anything that might be more 'genius of the world' than him. That or his mind is so ket-fried he honestly believes he can just will Tesla into competing in the eVTOL space.

SisterOfBattIe 2025-11-03 14:07

Musk was PAID to land a crewed craft on the Moon in 2026.

SisterOfBattIe 2025-11-03 14:08

I called the "orbital elevator to Uranus" Musk project. I bet it will be a thing he promises.

SisterOfBattIe 2025-11-03 14:09

As long as one doesn't expect to arrive alive, and the passenger still get all the blame, Tesla can deliver today.

BigBubblesNoTroubles 2025-11-03 14:09

No, it’s not.

Brexsh1t 2025-11-03 14:09

It’s going to be called “The Unicorn” and it’s coming “next year”

SisterOfBattIe 2025-11-03 14:10

OceanGate I'm sure will sell Musk a design for cheap to accelerate development.

Scribble_Box 2025-11-03 14:10

*lie to his costumers.

Brexsh1t 2025-11-03 14:10

Imagine a flying car, paired with that incredible Tesla “full self driving technology”, what could possibly go wrong..

altoona_sprock 2025-11-03 14:12

He actually thinks people believe he is building a flying car? There is currently ZERO tech to incorporate into a flying car. Not to mention an actual flying car (think George Jetson) serves zero purpose, other than to punch up the stock price again with empty promises of magical tech.

bonapartista 2025-11-03 14:13

This is again part of lies which intent is pumping stock according to 1 trillion deal?

altoona_sprock 2025-11-03 14:14

Physics is a cruel mistress. Starship is too big, too heavy and to Musk-y to actually work as intended. The Saturn V system worked because 90% of it was expendable.

[deleted] 2025-11-03 14:15

Lmfao

altoona_sprock 2025-11-03 14:17

FSF (full self flying) (supervised) will take care of all that, along with AI air traffic control. One of the reasons I don't air travel is the feeling of lack of control. Zipping around in my own personal flying coffin does not appeal to me in the slightest.

Clint888 2025-11-03 14:18

Conman

jaimi_wanders 2025-11-03 14:19

Meanwhile Europe is developing a self-driving AI-guided military convoy, which though still in early testing stages but it will be done before the Tesla semi, no doubt… https://united24media.com/latest-news/europe-rolls-out-first-drone-proof-military-convoy-with-no-drivers-13046 https://defence-blog.com/spain-unveils-europes-first-autonomous-military-convoy/?amp

CaterpillarTop8717 2025-11-03 14:20

The absolute donkey thinks that putting the tesla in Tulsa King and Always Sunny in Philadelphia are going to change perceptions on what a fucking tool he is.

dextercho83 2025-11-03 14:21

I really hope that shareholders are smart enough to deny him that pay package....

jaimi_wanders 2025-11-03 14:25

You need a pilot’s license in the US to fly anything heavier than 254 lbs unloaded **or** can carry a passenger. The “flying cars” thing was always hopium: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultralight_aircraft_in_the_United_States

jregovic 2025-11-03 14:25

It’s barely delivering on cars now. If it weren’t for the insane cult, Tesla would be well on its way to being more BlackBerry than Apple.

4Yk9gop 2025-11-03 14:27

All he has to do is pay Joby to slap a Tesla logo on one of their aircrafts and the stock will go up %20. Dumbest stock of all time.

July_is_cool 2025-11-03 14:28

It seems like transparent lying gradually changes into dementia.

StinkPickle4000 2025-11-03 14:32

I’m convinced anyone can demo anything at least 1 time! But does they make it a thing? No!!! Elon demoed battery swaps and those aren’t a thing!! I guess we can assume this won’t be a thing either?

Common-Violinist-305 2025-11-03 14:33

😂 it is hilarious

bassbeatsbanging 2025-11-03 14:35

they just need to find 10,000 feet worth of crafting wire and fishing line first. Also a really busy background that makes it hard to see things from a few dozen feet away.

BringBackUsenet 2025-11-03 14:37

They are \*supposedly\* going to launch one into space like they've done before. Floating in the void of space though is not flying.

Medical_Product_446 2025-11-03 14:37

Love the rare WKRP reference!

BringBackUsenet 2025-11-03 14:38

Last year actually but next year is when he'll have a time machine to return to last year.

jaimi_wanders 2025-11-03 14:38

So I checked and law as well as logic says it’s pure vaporwear: Only people with pilot’s licenses will be able to fly it in the US, because to qualify as an “ultralight” the FAA says it can’t carry passengers and has to weigh under 254 lbs unloaded. Europe allows bigger ones, up to 1042 lbs empty with a parachute/992 lbs without one, but that would be a very tiny car and few there would buy a Tesla ultralight now—plus they’re a subclass of airplanes so need a license. Britain allows a passenger and no pilot’s license but the ultralight has to weigh less than 165 lbs unloaded and flyer must still obey “the rules of the air (plus see above re popularity, especially now Musk is over there calling on their far-right sausage-roll-stealing wannabe Blackshirts to overthrow the government) Canada’s rules are more complicated but no battery-powered car will fit in any of them, plus see above re pro-Russian Nazi Americanized expats… Meanwhile Europe has already started testing—and a public demonstration— of an autonomous military convoy system…Tesla FSD semi when? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultralight_aviation

angryvetguy 2025-11-03 14:38

We've reviewed the logs and the autopilot had been disabled, so this failure is entirely on Kevin.

Kohlj1 2025-11-03 14:38

If it’s anything like his rockets, I’ll pass.

BringBackUsenet 2025-11-03 14:39

Therefore NASA should demand a full refund for breach of contract or sue for that plus punitive damages caused by the huge setbacks.

No-Budget-9765 2025-11-03 14:40

My bet is a Tesla branded passenger eVOTL because those are getting developed elsewhere. Getting regulatory approval will be tricky.

Durzel 2025-11-03 14:41

Ngl if I were Musk I'd just come out with more and more ridiculous shit, to see what the credulity breaking point is. I mean, why not?

pdxmetroarea 2025-11-03 14:41

Ketamine is a hell of a drug.

kveggie1 2025-11-03 14:42

Please stop the crap, elmo

StellarJayZ 2025-11-03 14:45

I. Two weeks, TACO

ZoeperJ 2025-11-03 14:45

Well at least it flew briefly.

Conscious-Victory-62 2025-11-03 14:49

He also said he'd have humans on Mars in ten years. Eleven years ago.

Ill_Somewhere_3693 2025-11-03 14:50

Yes, of course, the flying Pigs demo

baz4k6z 2025-11-03 14:55

He had too much ketamine that day. Or it's just another "pump my stock" request. Maybe both ?

[deleted] 2025-11-03 14:55

It wasn't earlier than that? I really thought he had been chilling that for over a decade now.

AustrianMichael 2025-11-03 14:55

He said so many things it’s hard to keep track, so there‘s this neat website https://elonmusk.today/

BrokeAssKitchen 2025-11-03 14:55

Finally figured out quantum locking?

Alucardis666 2025-11-03 14:56

codethatmatters 2025-11-03 15:01

So the company that makes the best selling car in the world is somehow barely delivering on cars 🤔

BuckChintheRealtor 2025-11-03 15:05

Is there even a market for flying cars?

Skotland85 2025-11-03 15:06

Remember when he bragged about cyber taxis…. Stock holders are basically enablers of his ketamine fueled illusions to pump his stock.

skyfire-x 2025-11-03 15:11

So basically Howard Stark in Captain America.

dzielny_tabalug 2025-11-03 15:12

He may be the best snake oil salesman ever

Working off memory... They announced ap2/full self driving with the model 3 in 2016, and I believe said something about a coast to coast driverless trip by the end of next year.

jptoz 2025-11-03 15:21

Haha, this guy and Trump have been palling around around a little too much lately.

thelionsmouth 2025-11-03 15:28

Sure

Phosistication 2025-11-03 15:31

Sure, Jan

techbunnyboy 2025-11-03 15:31

I want to see him fly it first

beren12 2025-11-03 15:39

That’s not flying, it’s gliding with style.

Fuskeduske 2025-11-03 15:41

Gonna Bo and Luke Duke/Thelma & Louise it.

[deleted] 2025-11-03 15:42

And ketamine - don’t forget the ketamine.

pokemonplayer2001 2025-11-03 15:47

People just sucking his bullshit down. Maybe he only needs a 10 bajillion dollar pay package to make this work. 🙄

supermr34 2025-11-03 15:47

those dorks cant even make a metal truck that shit doesnt fly off of, now theyre teasing a flying car? so dumb.

Do people still believe this grifter? Insane!

pokemonplayer2001 2025-11-03 15:49

FlipZip69 2025-11-03 15:55

We just be handing the keys over to our AI overlords.

Dangerous_Seaweed601 2025-11-03 15:57

I do not believe a word he says, ever. I’m willing to be proven wrong.. but it rarely happens, because he’s so full of shit.

MarketEmotional1955 2025-11-03 16:03

FSD can't make proper left hand turns, but sure...

CloseToMyActualName 2025-11-03 16:06

The trouble is that it's going to get reported regardless. So they're better off debunking.

xmaxmillion 2025-11-03 16:09

So instead of updating Tesla’s dated, existing lineup, he’ll put out another expensive, niche model, with limited customers. Then he’ll talk about robots and the stock will go up.

szhod 2025-11-03 16:13

He misspelled “lying”.

ViolaDavis 2025-11-03 16:16

Currently trading at $469/share. Someone help explain why.

torokunai 2025-11-03 16:22

Fly right out his butt.

torokunai 2025-11-03 16:23

it can but it will happily run over every pothole and ladder in the road on the way.

torokunai 2025-11-03 16:25

she's mastered the pump cycle yes, unload at top, add at bottom

marmaviscount 2025-11-03 16:25

Yeah, it's either going to be for very rich people only or he's going to pretend that as it's self piloting (at some point in the future) new legislation will make it viable soon... The first is kinda feasible but that means it'll be the second.

DonutGodzilla 2025-11-03 16:25

Is that a euphemism for his drug usage? 😜

TominatorXX 2025-11-03 16:28

Aren't we still waiting for the full self driving mode? Any day now?

gwenver 2025-11-03 16:30

So investors and the market were hoping for a budget model. Elon listened and his response - a flying car. One of these had mass market potential, the other not so much...

Silent_Confidence_39 2025-11-03 16:31

Toyota sells 6x more cars than Tesla. Because Tesla only has a few models, it looks like a lot by model, however in total numbers no. Also it’s very difficult to have different cars that sell for a profit : vans pickups sedans coupes hybrids evs suvs… consider also that Toyota has implemented country specific models and variations, it’s a huge technological advantage, they can only win long term.

gwenver 2025-11-03 16:32

Well, we've had flying boats for about a hundred years and I don't think anyone has got very rich from selling them.

Chilli71 2025-11-03 16:32

All cars can fly. The save landing is the tricky thing.

DonutGodzilla 2025-11-03 16:34

Slightly less of a market than there is for pointless robots that can do anything a human can, slower and worse whilst controlled remotely by an intern who could just pass you the can of coke himself, or for allowing unsupervised strangers who've drunk so much they have no bladder control to use your car in the middle of the night, while you sleep.

Munkadunk667 2025-11-03 16:37

Oh the demo is coming FOR SURE. ... now will it release to the public in the timeline he announces in the original configuration as the demo? DOUBT.

DonutGodzilla 2025-11-03 16:40

Except the people in it won't be the only people it takes out.

Roflcopter71 2025-11-03 16:41

Let me guess, it will be available by the end of the year too 🙄

Plus-Accident-5509 2025-11-03 16:42

To paraphrase Mr Carlson, as God is my witness, I thought Roadsters could fly!

coffeespeaking 2025-11-03 16:52

In 2018, he promised to send people to Mars in 2024.

IncarceratedScarface 2025-11-03 17:03

Lmao they can’t even release a regular Roadster and now he says a flying one is coming? Sure Jan

StandupJetskier 2025-11-03 17:03

Falling with Style !

rustyrussell2015 2025-11-03 17:07

I am still in awe of the cybertruck reveal years later. Can the people's hero do no wrong in the eyes of the faithful?

At some Point his smoke and mirrors salesman routine is going to Implode. Or crash like his Tesla robotaxis in Texas.

More grandiose talk in hopes to retain shareholder money, and it will work becuase ppl are stupid

drunk_sasquatch 2025-11-03 17:35

Two weeks ago I predicted to a friend he would claim flying car development. He is just looking at sci-fi and selling a fake future to his fan base to keep the stock up. Surprised he hasn’t mentioned FTL for SpaceX

crikett23 2025-11-03 17:42

Sure... it is coming, probably just after Full Self Driving arrives, or... well, given that there is a 40k character limit to a post, there isn't space to cover all of Musk's promises that are well overdue. Instead, let's look at his actual claim: There have only been a few cars that have used this very effective method of creating downforce (mostly because it was so effective back on the Jim Hall first attempt). But it comes with some trade=offs, as it takes quite a bit of power, and compromises elements in how the car's layout... that is, while it can work well in a car designed for nothing other than one person and maximum speed, it becomes less practical when you start wanting to add cabin and cargo space. That said, based on what it out there right now, we've seen such a system create about 4400 pounds of downforce, which could be enough to levitate a car... if the car were light enough (Probably need to be a good bit under that figure), and the lay out of the fans was such to provide even lift; since when used for downforce, this piece is much less important (and would be even more compromised by the need for passenger space and such). Realistically, it seems more of a question IF there will ever actually be a new Tesla Roadster, rather than if it will be able to fly. But, it is at least possible with the existing technology... though, until today, there had been no hint that siich technology was planned for the new Roadster, making it seem less likely to appear any time soon? So while this seems highly unlikely and a problematic tech to implement, it does seem some plausible than many of his claims. Real world expectation would be that there will be some sort of demo video produced (like the auto-pilot one), and then a produce will be rolled out that can't do anything even close to what was shown.

asingc 2025-11-03 17:50

Maybe just buy some Xpeng flying cars and repaint the logo? What's the business use case anyways?

jaimi_wanders 2025-11-03 17:53

There actually are people involved remotely in the guidance of the lead truck per the article, so it’s not FSD, but like Ukraine does with their various unmanned vehicles, they’re using AI to scan the terrain and spot obstacles & anomalies, which is what it can be good at. But that of course will give more usable data to improve the models, so…

jaimi_wanders 2025-11-03 17:55

He’s no Wernher von Braun—he was boosted into his NASA role as figurehead by Rep Rohrabacher, old Putin buddy and Erik Prince mentor, and real engineers did/do all the work.

jaimi_wanders 2025-11-03 17:56

You mean ignoring arsonists and saboteurs doesn’t work?? /s

loafing-cat-llc 2025-11-03 17:57

at one point i binge watched utube on various air disasters including small planes. flying isn't the same as driving. even the most seasoned pilots including one acknowledged expert with own youtube videos died from these accidents. i doubt that there is even technology (ai or no ai) that can prevent these issues. in other words i predict flying cars will be a niche product and masses will not adopt

jaimi_wanders 2025-11-03 17:58

🎯

Impossible_Head8683 2025-11-03 17:58

For some reason I just don't believe him. He's usually such an honest fellow I am just not sure he will deliver on this.

jaimi_wanders 2025-11-03 18:00

You can’t set them down on US roadways either—some kid with a giant hover drone just found that out

Ya-Not-Happening 2025-11-03 18:11

On to the next con. No one in their investment circle has any memory of the last con....? Its all so strange that no one wants to hold him accountable.

mukansamonkey 2025-11-03 18:25

Trebuchet. They've already been proven capable of tossing cars significant distances. However, Elon will have to rename it something that sounds cool to a twelve year old edgelord. Like HyperChet Flying Boost Assistant.

[deleted] 2025-11-03 18:35

Sam Altman struck a nerve lol.  Troll got trolled

mukansamonkey 2025-11-03 18:36

You left out the part where half a dozen other companies will already have functional eVTOL products on the market that exceed Elon's original performance claims. But media will endlessly hype how revolutionary Tesla tech is.

dapperbean 2025-11-03 18:36

I do not know why this statistic is being repeated today. It's not 2022 or 2023 anymore. The Rav4 was the best selling vehicle (US and globally) in 2024.

ascaria 2025-11-03 18:37

I don't know if he is, but what's true is that most people have become a lot dumber over the past 25 years. Somehow the internet - an enormous source of free information - have actually made everyone dumber.

Brilliant_Voice1126 2025-11-03 18:51

It will be a guy in a lycra roadster suit jumping from a plane.

Fun_Volume2150 2025-11-03 18:54

It will be delayed indefinitely due to regulatory concerns.

edgarapplepoe 2025-11-03 18:57

I am leaning on that too just because I think they will want something that does something and that is the easiest to do in a short time. I also think it being a completely fake gimmick is possible.

neliz 2025-11-03 18:59

Dont forget trucks

zuraken 2025-11-03 19:20

Just like how he said FSD was coming a decade ago

julios04 2025-11-03 19:31

Working hard for that 1 billion dollars package approval

Master_Grape5931 2025-11-03 19:34

Don’t worry, it’s coming to all teslas, with just a simple software update.

nlaak 2025-11-03 19:35

> Meanwhile Europe is developing a self-driving AI-guided military convoy, which though still in early testing stages but it will be done before the Tesla semi Someone else will have people on the moon before the Tesla semi is done.

nlaak 2025-11-03 19:38

> FSF (full self flying) (supervised) will take care of all that To be fair, for a sane company, FSF would be fairly easy. Planes have had it for decades. >along with AI air traffic control I can't even imagine how this would be.

Endo231 2025-11-03 19:53

Jesus fucking Christ people have been waiting for a Tesla super car for decades JUST MAKE THE FUCKING CAR STOP WITH THIS BULLSHIT

Elon musk makes vapor ware fly

SisterOfBattIe 2025-11-03 20:03

SisterOfBattIe 2025-11-03 20:05

Musk needs to promise increasingly impossible promises to keep stock going up.

[deleted] 2025-11-03 20:06

When are the working windshield wipers on the model Y coming I wonder.

calodero 2025-11-03 20:07

Actually they drive on water

calodero 2025-11-03 20:08

Tesla is doing incredibly well, like handful of most successful companies of all time based on stock performance over the last 15 years  How did he drive it off a cliff?

Ragnarok-9999 2025-11-03 20:42

Is it going to land or not?

KamalaHarrisForever 2025-11-03 20:56

I have a Tesla with FSD and a 2.5 hour commute. A few years ago I would have thought this was impossible. It really makes the drive incredibly nice. Elon promises big and most the time he misses but if he comes close it still feels pretty wild

gadhalund 2025-11-03 21:07

Aha. The bullshit this guy spins is unreal, and the gullibility of people is actually astounding

QuitUrAddictionNow 2025-11-03 21:15

Their robotics program just started a few years ago lol and FSD absolutely works, you clearly haven’t tried it.

[deleted] 2025-11-03 21:17

Teslas are consistently ranked with the highest safety ratings. Wtf is this delusional sub🤣

[deleted] 2025-11-03 21:20

SpaceX doesn’t even profit off of promises for Mars lol they deliver 90% of earth’s satellites to space because they built the most effective rockets. This entire sub is completely delusional🤣🤣

locka99 2025-11-03 21:24

I imagine it will be some dumb stunt like racing a jet aircraft or similar. The same sort of BS they did with the Cybertruck vs a Porsche.

ProdigalSheep 2025-11-03 21:39

None of the above. He won’t follow up on this in any meaningful way but to keep saying it every once in a while.

[deleted] 2025-11-03 22:00

The study emphasizes that this doesn’t mean Teslas aren’t safe. It’s all how the data is framed. This study found that accidents in a Tesla are one of the least likely to result in fatal injury: https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-least-likely-involved-fatal-accidents-study/?utm_source=chatgpt.com

When he does drugs he thinks he's on Mars so it counts. He's been visiting it for a decade already.

zeekayz 2025-11-03 22:34

Shareholders are voting on his 1 trillion dollar salary soon so he's kicking up bullshit tweets into overdrive.

olyfrijole 2025-11-03 22:41

Looking forward to the mkbhd review!

zeeper25 2025-11-03 22:44

It will have to fly because safe terrestrial FSD in widespread use is still so far away from being possible for Tesla.

Sinocatk 2025-11-03 23:02

If you want to invest in a car related company, may I suggest Rolls Royce. I am aware the car and aerospace division are separate, like Tesla and his rocket company. However RR does what tesla doesn’t. Make la great cars and also great aerospace products? Is that Tesla and SpaceX? Nope it’s roll rolls Royce

MyVoiceIsElevating 2025-11-03 23:05

They’re still alive, so clearly they’re not using it.

MyVoiceIsElevating 2025-11-03 23:11

Yeah but they’d be popular in Mar a Lago

jesterOC 2025-11-03 23:35

That is unrealistic, he would not name the intern

Fluffy_Accountant_39 2025-11-04 00:13

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha 😃😆🤣😁. Who are these people who believe him???

FlipZip69 2025-11-04 00:13

Oh I think it is a good thing but we might not be saying that in 200 years.

It's scheduled for just before the rapture. It's almost time! Hold on to your butts!

No_Hovercraft_3954 2025-11-04 01:34

He also said, "trust me bro, I'm just trying to push the share price up so I can get my $1 trillion"

FlyingArdilla 2025-11-04 03:14

Concept cars aren't real vehicles.

your_fathers_beard 2025-11-04 03:35

From the guy who didn't deliver tunnels, hyper loops, semis...

al2o3cr 2025-11-04 04:25

Turns out nobody else needed to learn "don't attach parts of your truck with tape" via experiment

Al-Khayzuran 2025-11-04 04:44

I know you all have the same burning question... Will it utilize LIDAR? /s

SnooKiwis6943 2025-11-04 05:44

This may top the cybertruck in awesomeness!

kineticdeck 2025-11-04 08:10

This time it will just be an intern in an Optimus gimp suit driving off a literal cliff.

[deleted] 2025-11-04 08:55

Nonsense. A reaction to the roadster cancelation.

ConversationLow9545 2025-11-04 11:16

i lost whatever respect i had for this shitass person

soedesh1 2025-11-04 18:54

Fingers crossed that he’s the test pilot.

Sudden-Step9593 2025-11-04 20:12

Pump my stock. He has to do whatever to get that trillion dollar payout

Sudden-Step9593 2025-11-04 20:16

How has he helped revolutionize space travel? We've been traveling to space since the 60s. The only money he's put into starship is the govt money. Put down the pompoms bro

No_Pen8240 2025-11-04 22:36

NOOO!!!!! This again, Is Tesla on the verge of bankruptcy or something? What happened? The flying Roadster is the dumbest prank from a decade ago. . . Kids in elementary school during the reveal, are now preparing to take the MCAT. . . Seriously people just want to feel the same way about Elon and Tesla today as they felt when we all had our first ride in a Model S or Model 3 performance and thought "Wow, Elon is a genius". But since then, he moved on to talking about software coding and medicine . . . and while I don't know much about rockets, batteries, and electric engines . . . I know enough about software to know he doesn't know much. After leaving my software development job I went to Medical School, His claims about Neuralink, Covid-19, Chloroquine, BiPaP to replace ventilators, etc. . . . I am positive he doesn't know anything about Neuralink.

Ambitious-Fix9934 2025-11-05 02:26

Or that millions of Teslas would be driving around on their own this year. Oops, that was back in 2017

Secure_Guest_6171 2025-11-05 11:36

?? Wasn't Daddy Stark a legit supergenius? I must rematch that movie

thecavac 2025-11-05 12:55

Elon searching for "highest clip in the world that has a road on the top side"

thecavac 2025-11-05 12:56

He obviously ment the wallmart isle with mars bars, not the planet /s

thecavac 2025-11-05 12:58

Does "on the back of a tow truck" count?

thecavac 2025-11-05 13:01

The Aussies got you covered: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6lQia3Zv94](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6lQia3Zv94)

thecavac 2025-11-05 13:05

Not very good at navigating or flying, the range sucks and you get explosions on most landings. Let's call the design the "V-1 Flying Bomb".

thecavac 2025-11-05 13:09

"he finally gets a production line"... nah, if he ever gets to a "working" design, he would "love to produce it, but the regulators and lawmakers are currently blocking us because they don't understand our incredible safe technology" or something along those lines. Of course, only after he he realizes that the product would be much more expensive, and pluck the pre-order suckers for additional fees to keep their place in the pre-order list.

thecavac 2025-11-05 13:11

Or other companies have failed, because of strict airspace safety laws. Plus far too few people having a valid pilots license AND are interested in buying a contraption that has no way to land safely if there is an engine problem...

thecavac 2025-11-05 13:13

Just because all of their products are unfixable piles of garbage, doesn't mean their next one will be, too /s

thecavac 2025-11-05 13:14

The taxis are so cyber, they ONLY exist on the internet ;-)

y4udothistome 2025-11-05 18:28

Now the board is saying that they can’t make Elon work full-time a day before the vote after they blew smoke up everybody’s ass how because he’s got many other companies I can guarantee you if this passes you won’t hear another thing about roadster or flying cars until it’s necessary to stop the stock from tanking

Normal-Selection1537 2025-11-05 20:02

He's throwing old shit at the wall for the investor vote coming up.

Xiaopeng8877788 2025-11-06 02:11

More vaporware… fucking roadster isn’t even close to production. Just a company and ceo that’s full of shit

FreshStartLiving 2025-11-06 14:36

Or released from a Falcon 9..."unforgettable"

weaz-am-i 2025-11-06 22:42

Nah, that's salt water, completely different to water. We all know Elon hates hydrogen.

Makeshift-human 2025-11-07 09:36

The lying fraud lies again? How can that be?

Seeking-Direction 2025-11-10 17:15

This is about as meaningful as Snoop Dogg “giving up smoking“. (It was a sales pitch for some stove that nobody remembers.)

alaorath 2025-11-13 17:56

I'm reminded of that scene from IronMan 2, where Justin Hammer's test of a super-suit almost kills the pilot wearing it.

random-user-0202 2026-02-10 01:53

A snake oil salesman who has single-handedly revolutionized space flight, electric vehicles, and neurotechnology. 😂 Hate him for his politics all you want, and I don’t even disagree, but to say he’s a snake oil salesman is about as disingenuous as it gets.
