Tesla Says HW3 Vehicles Will Get Lite Version of FSD 14 ‘Probably’ by 2Q26

I’m no expert on what a v14”lite” might look like on a HW3 vehicle, it could be everything people that purchased FSD ever wished for. But based on Tesla’s track record of overpromising and under-delivering, I’d bet against that. And if this lite version does yet again fail to meet expectations, the bait and switch of charging customers $10k for a “full” version, then delivering a “lite” and expecting them to be happy, will go down as one of thr greatest swindles in history.

Does anyone else feel like this is the intersection of “empty promises ave” and “too little too late st” for those of us who have 4-6 year old cars and bought it on the “coming next month”-promises back then already?

Based on the latest report they posted themselves, Autopilot + FSD performance has gotten worse in the latest quarter YoY. Given the # of HW4 cars increased (produced) while the # of HW3 cars decreased (age), that's not exactly a good sign that they're making any advances despite their promises.

Classic Elon. Move the goal post. I can hear him think "We promised FSD, but what is exactly the definition?"  There are no official bounds to the term.  So no hardware upgrade for HW3.

My M3 with 2.5 was "fully hardware capable" of Level 5 self driving back in 2019...

He’s doing everything to keep this stock price high because he knows pretty all of 2026 is going to be horrible, revenue wise. Trying to convince shareholders to approve his potential 1 trillion dollar compensation package. He’s desperate at this point. Plus, a lot of his loans are using Tesla stock as collateral, if it falls below a certain price, he could actually get margined called, then he’s screwed.

So backing off on us grading the hardware on our two cars. 2Q26 will come and go and our 2018 3 will still be on FSD 12.

But what about the Photon Count?

"10X" was the buzzword they used. Not that a circa 2017 cell phone chip with a 1.3MP camera (same resolution as a 2004 Nokia) will be able to do much with all those parameters.

The question is ... which direction does your Tesla turn when it reaches that intersection? East on Too Little Too Late St. to the hyperloop station, or North on Empty Promises Ave to the ship leaving for Mars?

Well since FSD isn't legal anywhere and Tesla would be facing potential lawsuits... V14"lite" probably just means level 2 or 3... but with a new name!

Based on the lawsuit Tesla lost, I doubt they will ever progress past the same level 2 (or potentially 3) that everyone else already has

Sounds like bs marketing for the same level 2 and 2.5/3 that tons of other manufacturers have
