Pricing on a used Model 3

soldieroscar | 2025-09-26 02:32 | 23 views

Im looking to sell my 2018 model 3. It has 180k miles and a dead battery. It has the fast acceleration and the self drive purchased. Not sure how much to post it for.

Get the battery repaired at an EV shop for 3-4k, then sell it for 15k. I doubt you'd get more than 8-10k with a faulty battery.

I would take 8k just to get it out of my driveway 😂

Does that have one of the million mile batteries musk was promising back in 2018?

I can’t believe I paid 8k for the self drive

$150-$200. Enjoy your musking

This is an appreciating asset. Put it on blocks and use it for your retirement fund. Call it your 420k.

Soon. The owner need to pay a fee to disassemble the dead EV battery. You don't get paid for getting it out of your driveway, you pay. EV out of warranty with dead battery has zero value in the very near future if not now already.

I'm taking my son down to probably drive away with a used EV tomorrow.  We've been looking hard for the past week and have narrowed it down to 2.  Almost everything I saw under 20k was a Tesla and we would not consider a Tesla in our search. You could buy a used model 3 with a lot lower mileage than that in working condition for 14k. I think you'd be pushing it to get 5-6k, you might start by asking 8.

I'm no Tesla fan at all but battery packs removed from EVs still have value. They usually only have one or two bad cells after disassembling and find a second life in energy storage.

I heard a super-genius say your car is an appreciating asset so you should have quite the financial windfall on your hands. Congratz!
