UK no like Swasticars.

ShotBandicoot7 2025-08-18 08:10

Ouch, that will hurt margins mid-term. I guess typical response is „more calls“ as there will be another rabbit pulled out of TSLA‘s hat to pump the stock.

dharmoslap 2025-08-18 08:19

Sales should go to 0.

MoleMoustache 2025-08-18 08:45

By this time next year, we will have cars on the ocean floor, transporting people to the new underwater Muskhole, where we will save humanity!

TheMegaDriver2 2025-08-18 08:53

"Stonks goes up. Teslaboi hodl!" - average Elon simp Meanwhile the Tesla board has been selling stocks like crazy for the last year.

Lol, more pump then!!

ShotBandicoot7 2025-08-18 09:27

Stock is the product for TSLA.

MoleMoustache 2025-08-18 09:27

Pump the Muskhole!

king4aday 2025-08-18 09:45

Before Elon went off the deep end (before announcing his loyalty to king trump), we seriously considered buying a Tesla. I wouldn't touch it anymore, even if he takes a complete 180.

Joker-Smurf 2025-08-18 10:01

Hopium and vapourware have*always* been Tesla’s main product line (at least since Elon “founded” the company)

shiroandae 2025-08-18 10:31

Norway isn’t that big.

Tesla is about to auger in

British motorists can now lease a Tesla electric vehicle for just over half what it cost a year ago, as Elon Musk’s company attempts to boost its flagging sales in the UK.With Tesla’s market share falling across Europe amid stiff competition from Chinese rivals, the electric vehicle company has been forced to offer discounts of up to 40 per cent to car leasing companies to shift more units. The ad hoc discounts to leasing companies — which pass them on to customers in the form of cheaper monthly payment plans — are also due to the lack of storage space for Tesla vehicles in the UK, according to industry sources.Elon Musk is making Tesla cars more affordablePATRICK PLEUL/POOL/AFP VIA GETTY IMAGESA Tesla Model 3 can be leased for as little as £252 a month plus VAT on a 36-month contract at Silverstone Leasing, one of Tesla’s partners in the UK.Tesla’s latest model, the Model Y, retails for about £60,000, but it was advertised for as low as £376.97 a month plus VAT on Synergy Car Leasing’s website last week. Other deals on the Model Y, which was only launched in May, were priced at just over £400 a month.Last year, a Tesla Model 3 lease could cost customers £600 to £700 a month.Tesla has not slashed the headline price of its popular models, including Model 3 and the Model Y, but it is now also offering zero interest finance deals for its cars in its retail shops to kickstart sales. That is expected to cost Tesla about £6,000 over three years for a £40,000 vehicle.Fraser Brown, managing director of MotorVise, the automotive consultancy, said discounts to leasing companies, along with other financial incentives from Tesla dealerships, were a way of shifting more units without dropping the headline price.“The most expensive way to find a home for these cars is by cutting the retail price. The cheapest way is to cut the monthly payments.“So you can now buy a Tesla, through a contract hire company or through a retail environment inside a Tesla store, you can now buy one for about half what the monthly payment was previously.”Ian Plummer, commercial director at Auto Trader, the listed marketplace for cars, which is an accredited Tesla leasing partner, acknowledged that leases on Tesla EVs were cheaper now than in previous years. “The main thing is you can access Teslas at more affordable prices and a lease is a good way to get a more affordable [EV](https://archive.ph/o/BmYmS/https://www.thetimes.com/article/why-electric-cars-are-still-for-the-rich-and-we-need-more-chargers-d075hdt00).Protesters opposed Musk’s recent prominence in US politics, though he has now left his role in the Trump administrationKRISZTIAN ELEK/SOPA IMAGES/LIGHTROCKET VIA GETTY IMAGES“They still have a huge chunk of the used EV market, with one in four being a Tesla. And drives on the other side of the road

hidog12 2025-08-18 11:48

Now I need to find a way to start casually introducing “muskhole” in to every day language.

MoleMoustache 2025-08-18 11:48

If you value friends and family, don't!!!

PoilTheSnail 2025-08-18 13:25

He's always been off the deep end, it just became more noticeable and more and more people become aware of it.

ARAR1 2025-08-18 14:43

Sounds like a great reason for the stock price to go up!

[deleted] 2025-08-18 16:38

It could go on sale again for 50% off any day now...

ShotBandicoot7 2025-08-18 16:56

Yeah waiting for the rugpull…

StanchoPanza 2025-08-18 16:57

thanks for that. from the article/link "[Tesla sales in the UK ](https://archive.ph/o/BmYmS/https://www.thetimes.com/business-money/companies/article/tesla-new-car-uk-sales-drop-july-z75crdfln)dropped by 60 per cent in July to 987 units, from 2,462 a year earlier. The board has been dumping stock for years and it still hasn't happened. It makes me think MBS or the Saudi wealth fund is holding this entire thing up as a thank you for killing twitter after the aarab spring.

ShotBandicoot7 2025-08-18 17:03

Not sure it‘s conspiracy theories at work here. There are just an insane amount of true believers fueled by hype from media outlets that echo every word from Musk as the word of the Messias himself. I wouldn‘t be surprised if active smart money has legt the pool long time ago. Left are index positions, algos and retail bagholders. It can pump for longer, but not forever.

[deleted] 2025-08-18 17:08

Economic alignment can often look like a conspiracy eg it's fine to participate in a ponzi scheme as long as you aren't the first investor or person to seek liquidity or the last to invest or seek liquidity.

ShotBandicoot7 2025-08-18 17:11

Ok, fine… maybe. We‘ll see how it plays out..

[deleted] 2025-08-18 17:15

Some people are going to end up rich, and other folks are going to end up poor. There is no shame in selling a stock to recognize revenue and diversifying the result into something that is a safe bet. If it's enough money to change your quality of life.. take advantage while you can.  I have worked at half a dozen tech startups and I absolutely know the feeling of wishing I got off the rocketship before it came to pieces.

dynamadan 2025-08-18 17:27

I think it’s the big Wall Street firms that are propping it up. Everybody knows the fundamentals are broken. The stock is going down, but as long as they can sell covered calls and sell puts and keep the stock pegged to a tight range they are making a fortune. They hold a lot of shares. Retail idiots hodl with their diamond hands also limit the liquidity. When this thing falls it will be fast.

user365735 2025-08-18 17:52

Do you think they could figure out a way to use the unused TSLAs as rocket fuel? Essentially you could manufacturer your own fuel. Cathy was right!! Tsla to 3k!!

[deleted] 2025-08-18 18:03

I saw an analysis that puts 75% of all tesla publicly traded stock being held by institutional investors. I have no idea what other stocks in the S&P are held at those ratios but from an outside perspective that seems higher than I would expect with it being a meme stock at this point.

KostekMan 2025-08-18 20:19

I considered leasing Tesla 3 as it's super cheap for rwd version, but the insurance cost is almost $200 per month. Doesn't make any sense considering that

y4udothistome 2025-08-19 00:12

Reich!

I just don't get why Tesla hasn't fallen to $30/share yet? There is literally no good news for the company and that stupid ass drug addict just got another giant payout in stocks for helping to destroy the company.
