Are you saying it points in the direction your car is facing, or points you to your car? It looks like mine actually points to my car. If I move my phone around, the arrow moves but stays pointed at the car.

Doesn’t always point correctly. Had mine point correct the first day and then a few days ago, noticed it pointed in the opposite direction even though I was in the same room and facing the same way. Not a big deal but, just in case someone depends on it, might be wrong at times.

It SOMETIMES points towards your car. I’ve also seen it point the completely wrong direction.

It only points when close to the car within range.

So I had to check this. It works with 2 vehicles that are parked nearby. But I have a third vehicle that is currently parked 870 miles away and the arrow feature does not work for that car.

I was trying to find my car at the airport and it was completely wrong lol

I remembered where I parked at the airport and was checking the app and it was right. It was only wrong one day at work but I haven’t checked again. Just found it funny that it was right the first day and wrong the next time I checked.

Yeah generally it's pretty good. I was in an underground garage so maybe that's why

But it never does for me. It always points in a random other redirection for some reason.

I have both my car (2020 Model 3) and my wife's car (2023 Model Y) parked next to each other in the driveway. My app shows my car with a standard up arrow and says "nearby", while my wife's car has the arrow pointing the correct direction and the number of feet away. Not sure why they're different, just an observation.

Bad ass. Had no idea and just tested. It’s correct.

Maybe not the right phone. Car is less relevant as it shares its gps location to the app.

Phone might be the culprit, not the car.

You can also do it by pretending you're holding a salt shaker in a closed fist, and you're trying to sprinkle some on your tongue.

You should use your other hand and hold it underneath your jaw in a catchers mitt position just in case the phone drops too

I prefer to pull repeatedly on my imaginary tail, but yours makes a lot of sense from a safety standpoint. Good tip!

What does knowing what direction your car is facing do for you exactly?

This is correct. More impressively, this is not a static image and reacts dynamicly. Pointing my phone in a different direction and the arrow is staying fixed on my car. Very handy...

No you can't hold the tip, you must pull on the shaft repeatedly!

You have to be nearby your car.

More specifically, it points to where your car is relative to your phone. Meaning, hold your phone out, turn yourself until the arrow is straight up, walk forward, there’s your car.

I just updated to 4.53.1 (iOS) and it had it (my previous version did not).
