Autosteer?

yhsong1116 2026-01-26 23:50

ya its been like that for a week now... cheapest model 3 in the world. Even cheaper than China. I hope they import these to Canada and flood the streets.

yhsong1116 2026-01-26 23:51

yes, because they dont have FSD yet. They do but only for American import cars (CT, S, X) but not Chinese made cars (3, Y) due to their trade agreements. US cars have it thanks to FTA. Chinese cars dont because it has something to do with european regulations, so they are likely to get it in 2027 when FSD gets approved in Europe.

Xx_HARAMBE96_xX 2026-01-27 00:03

In europe tesla cars come with autosteer tho, all model 3 there are Chinese

1FrostySlime 2026-01-27 00:15

Iirc under Canada's new rules they can only import 40,000 of them before building a factory in the country

LeadingAd6025 2026-01-27 00:17

how about taxes, tariffs etc on top of the msrp

yhsong1116 2026-01-27 00:23

40k a year? Or 40k total?

Ljhughes8 2026-01-27 00:24

Total

yhsong1116 2026-01-27 00:30

thanks, I guess I need to read more into it. like what is enough to be considered a factory. I dont see all these companies investing billions to build their own factories just to sell \~40-50k a year which is to be shared among automakers, not even per manufacturer.

yhsong1116 2026-01-27 00:33

yes that is what I am saying. They come with autosteer in Korea but no FSD.

yhsong1116 2026-01-27 00:34

minimal tarriff iirc and taxes are included as well. they pay yearly registration fee though.

Mmscool 2026-01-27 00:54

Bruh thats so cheap compared to us and canada

woalk 2026-01-27 00:57

What’s your source on FSD in 2027? I thought the current regulations don’t allow its use, period.

NOISY_SUN 2026-01-27 01:01

Why is it so cheap compared to the US and Canada?

Valuable_One_234 2026-01-27 01:03

This is why we need competition!!

Fisheye14 2026-01-27 01:18

Tariff is included in the price it’s 8% for Chinese ev import.

specter491 2026-01-27 01:30

Why is it so cheap wtf

buddybe1 2026-01-27 01:34

Extremely competitive market

1FrostySlime 2026-01-27 01:39

If they build their own factories they can sell an unlimited number as long as they're produced in Canada. In practice this will likely only benefit Tesla though

5GCovidInjection 2026-01-27 01:53

I have to imagine this is from growing Chinese imports. A few years ago, you couldn’t find any Chinese cars in Korea. But apparently now, you can buy a select few BYD models and they’re slowly but surely becoming a presence on Korean streets.

Mustangfast85 2026-01-27 01:55

I think less China and more Kia/Hyundai

Rxyro 2026-01-27 02:00

RWD Drift machine

paulwesterberg 2026-01-27 02:02

What about Volvo/Greely? Are they sold in Canada now? Maybe BYD could build a small factory to assemble the shark there.

tekdemon 2026-01-27 02:48

Honestly crazy that it’s $11000 more in the US than South Korea.

yhsong1116 2026-01-27 02:49

Just how it stands currently. It will likely be approved by early 2027. So u r right no fsd in Europe now

fredean01 2026-01-27 02:59

Market is too small unfortunately

KingLolcow 2026-01-27 03:25

If this was the regular price in the state. Tesla would make so much more money

TechJ2025 2026-01-27 03:35

Man, if that thing was $25K in the US, whew. Even Tesla haters would consider it. Lol.

GanksOP 2026-01-27 03:47

$29,000? damnnnnn

redkulat 2026-01-27 03:50

It's per year, with a gradual increase to 70,000 by 2031.

redkulat 2026-01-27 03:53

It's per year, it doesn't make sense to have only have 49,000 max indefinitely. It's gradually going to increase to 70,000 by 2031, with about half of those vehicles to be priced under $35,000 CAD.

rdwoolf 2026-01-27 04:01

If it doesn’t come with autosteer as a standard feature like other cars in that price range I’m no longer interested. Also, I don’t want to have to subscribe to a vehicle I own.

yhsong1116 2026-01-27 04:37

Idk Canadian market is too small ..

syaheer 2026-01-27 06:23

Whats your source on early 2027 approval?

icy1007 2026-01-27 06:45

It’s not priced in USD. lol

icy1007 2026-01-27 06:45

Because it’s shipped from China.

icy1007 2026-01-27 06:45

It’s not though. It’s a couple thousand less.

su1cid3boi 2026-01-27 07:12

Lfp battery?

buddybe1 2026-01-27 07:23

Yes, Koreans are very proud people in their own nations product (Hyundai/Kai) and that’s what the majority of them end up getting. To get people to even consider other options the price has to be amazing .

TheS4ndm4n 2026-01-27 07:36

And no tarifs.

Saurta17 2026-01-27 07:48

Dude, it is in South Korea, why would it be priced in USD?

binary_blackhole 2026-01-27 08:15

so tesla could sell the M3 30k$ and still make huge profits. I’m so disgusted by european tariffs on chinese cars.

buergidunitz107 2026-01-27 09:23

They're probably barely making any profit at that price.  What do you think Europeans should tariff Chinese cars? Do you mean they should be the same 100 percent that the US charges or low?

binary_blackhole 2026-01-27 09:25

they should be the same as all foreign manufacturers.

WEZANGO 2026-01-27 10:04

46k in Ireland

The1TwoThree 2026-01-27 11:36

He has none.

CousinEddysMotorHome 2026-01-27 12:55

We build them in California? Also, they are cheaper here than Europe. Its not tarrifs.

TheS4ndm4n 2026-01-27 14:01

Shanghai is a lot cheaper than Fremont.

Saintcanuck 2026-01-27 16:45

Can you buy and import them

Quin1617 2026-01-27 19:35

Let the free market decide. Tariffs just screw all of us over.

FIRE_TSLAHeavy 2026-01-27 20:27

42m Won is USD29,200 RMB 203,000 per XE dot com.

asianApostate 2026-01-28 02:11

These are definitely made in China.  Everything from supply chain, batteries, labor, raw materials are just cheaper there.   If China let them expand their factory and Trump brought down the China tariffs ours would be made there too.

icy1007 2026-01-28 02:23

Cars imported from the U.S. are more expensive than cars from China now.

icy1007 2026-01-28 02:37

You put in your title, “starting price is about 25,700 USD”… It’s not priced in USD. You can’t just take the currency and convert it to get the cost in another country.

Mmscool 2026-01-28 03:01

In 2024 when there were no china tarrifs in Canada model 3 was still 50k which is still much more.

Fuzzy_Dunlop 2026-01-28 03:28

Why not?

Mateking 2026-01-28 06:40

Yeah Hyundai/Kia is techwise I think the closest competitor to Tesla on the Market right now. Excluding ze Germans that compete mostly on the top end only for now(Mercedes/Audi/Porsche also have quite interesting Tech). The Fast charging tech of the E-GMP Platform is quite something especially in markets that don't use NACS which hamstrings the peak charge rates of them. So I assume in Korea you get full charge rate for the Ioniqs and EV6 and up. So they can cover the Korean Peninsuala in a similar pace as the Teslas(which don't charge as fast but have a better range without charging) Similarly or better priced the Hyundai Kias are quite competitive. And with a more traditional User Interface which will steer people to those models over the Teslas(if they are more inclined towards that user interface over Teslas minimalistic one) Another point might be Teslas(atleast in Germany this is true) are incredibly expensive to lease. So a lower asking price might be their way to combat that. I think Tesla is less inclined to take the monetary risk(of leasing) so readily as traditional Manufacturers who usually have their own subsidiary bank which does that themselves I think Tesla still outsourses leasin(not 100% sure here) Edit: Cowards who downvote without commenting what is supposedly wrong with my statement...

watergoesdownhill 2026-01-28 07:16

I assume these are Chinese built. China is insanely competitive. They didn’t realize that competitive!

icy1007 2026-01-28 15:55

There are loads of different variables between building in China and shipping to Korea vs building in the US. Building in the US is more expensive than China. Korea also doesn't charge tariffs on Chinese cars.

mn540 2026-01-28 22:24

Because we pay more for everything. Out medicine is a lot more that most other places in the world.

SelectionFuzzy3009 2026-01-29 12:41

Heard it in an Elon fart.

Some_Helicopter7500 2026-01-29 20:49

Well you aren't wrong the competition of Tesla is currently most Chinese EVs

whimsyjen 2026-01-30 03:26

Possibly priced for the country. Their cost of living is much much lower than ours. Heard Ireland is priced higher and their cost of living is insane

wuxia661318 2026-02-01 13:32

666😀

[deleted] 2026-02-10 03:33

It’s honestly a great car for the price even in the US but this would be a no-brainer.
