Is FSD 14 out?

Ray2K14 2025-10-07 16:23

Yes, it released last night around midnight.

ajn63 2025-10-07 16:31

14.1 widely released? I haven’t seen any proof of it.

ProfessionalYak4959 2025-10-07 16:32

These statements don’t say anything

[deleted] 2025-10-07 16:40

it’s all over my feed

Rollertoaster7 2025-10-07 16:47

Yeah “wide” seems to mean beyond Tesla employees, so far just seems like influencers. Maybe regular folks will get it in the coming days

jrherita 2025-10-07 17:00

It seems like influencers for now

daiei27 2025-10-07 17:05

This is only for HW4, right? When will HW3 get any of this?

oxooc 2025-10-07 17:13

Cries in HW3 and in Europe

allaboutandroids 2025-10-07 17:13

I wonder if FSD 14 is starting to use the front bumper camera (The Model 3 being the only one without it in their current lineup in North America)

fursty_ferret 2025-10-07 17:14

Meanwhile in Europe running 2018 Autopilot software on brand new HW4 cars... 😭

Ok_Priority458 2025-10-07 17:17

Does this mean it will no longer randomly run a red light or go in the wrong lane into oncoming traffic?

Tesla0ptimus 2025-10-07 17:18

It’ll come whenever Tesla gives us the free hardware upgrade as promised. Since Tesla doesn’t want to waste money, they’re waiting to be absolutely sure AI4 is enough to achieve unsupervised FSD before spending a lot of money to upgrade everyone’s hardware

kubyx 2025-10-07 17:18

Answer: Probably never We are stuck on 12.x while HW4 got 13 and now 14. I'm normally not one to complain about newer cars getting upgrades, but after dropping 8k on FSD, it's getting hard to ignore how far behind these cars are now becoming compared to HW4 despite having paid for the same outcome.

ISayAboot 2025-10-07 17:18

Has anyone asked him about HW3

Low-Inspection-6099 2025-10-07 17:19

Free trial?

Miserable-Tree-637 2025-10-07 17:33

In tesla lingo, it’s coming soon

EVMad 2025-10-07 17:42

HW3 in NZ is harder as HW4 cars have it and HW3 doesn't. Paid outright 6 years ago, still only have navigate on autopilot although I've got to say the new automatic parking is a revelation compared with the old. They're promising we'll get FSD supervised on HW3 soon. I won't be buying a new car just for FSD though, nothing wrong with the current one.

Serialtoon 2025-10-07 17:45

I bet you 14.4 will release then 14.5 and 14.6 after that. Bet

imacleopard 2025-10-07 17:46

Bro, where you get this privileged info from!?

libben 2025-10-07 17:46

You mean do better then waymo since version 9 or so? Probably!

Serialtoon 2025-10-07 17:49

My boy Melon Busk told me

Cidolfas 2025-10-07 17:52

It will be HW5.

Cidolfas 2025-10-07 17:52

Soon HW5 will come out and everyone on HW4 will be in the same boat.

JacobMaxx 2025-10-07 17:54

Me finding out my New-To-Me 22MYP doesn't get it... https://media1.tenor.com/m/kAyk94-sM5wAAAAd/marriage-story-scarlett-johansson.gif

HybridAlien 2025-10-07 18:01

Not available in the United Kingdom. Yeah so great owning a tesla isn't it /s

snark42 2025-10-07 18:02

Where can I sign up for the class action lawsuit to get my free HW4 upgrade... 12 on HW3 is terrible, can't even maintain set speed on the highway like my radar did before they disabled it many years ago.

hydrated_purple 2025-10-07 18:06

I will be shocked if I actually get HW4/5 upgrade on my 2021 M3. Would love it, but doubtful.

bigpoppa611 2025-10-07 18:07

He was asked. To which he replied. “Didn’t they get HW4 retrofit?!”

HellsNels 2025-10-07 18:13

~~It will be HW3~~ ~~It will be HW3.5~~ ~~It will be HW4~~ It will be HW5?

gentlecrab 2025-10-07 18:15

Probably never they said on investor calls they want to “solve” unsupervised FSD first before worrying about what to do with HW3. This buys them as much time as they want since you can’t truly solve unsupervised FSD as there will always be edge cases. They are hoping HW3 cars go away over time either by trade ins or other means like car accidents. The less HW3 cars available the less they need to upgrade. This is why you can no longer buy a used HW3 that comes with FSD anymore on their website. They are removing it from trade ins that they receive so that they’re not legally obligated to upgrade the hardware for free in the future. Edit: This doesn’t mean you can’t use FSD on a preowned Tesla of course it just means you will have to subscribe to the monthly FSD package. However if Tesla offers hardware upgrades in the future for FSD you will have to pay for those upgrades.

kfmaster 2025-10-07 18:17

That’s why big governments suck. They wanted to control every bit of your life in the name of your good.

dubie4x8 2025-10-07 18:19

If anything, maybe they’ll make AI5 components backwards compatible with HW3/HW4. I have low hopes, but that’s just what I think they’d do instead of using resources to modify existing HW4 hardware when 5 is on the horizon

popornrm 2025-10-07 18:30

You shouldn’t expect hw3 to get it. The focus should be on improvements for the latest hw. If you get stuff down the line, that’s icing.

popornrm 2025-10-07 18:32

By that definition humans haven’t solved driving by themselves because there are always edge cases.

szman86 2025-10-07 18:32

It is per Dirty Tesla’s videos

popornrm 2025-10-07 18:33

Hasn’t heard of anyone this has happened to.

allaboutandroids 2025-10-07 18:34

Damn. 1yr in and my 2025 Model 3 is "obsolete" lmao

daiei27 2025-10-07 18:36

For other features, sure. Icing on the cake… FSD was sold with a lot of promises. When people were paying on the order of $12-15k based on those promises, there’s a lot more expectation than icing on the cake.

Separate-Primary2949 2025-10-07 18:55

Uk! Wake up! Let’s back FULL FAT FSD! let’s not wait for chinas LiDar to just fail with mass interference when all cars have it on the road 👀

MMortein 2025-10-07 19:17

Less often than a human

Omacrontron 2025-10-07 19:21

The priority right now is HW4. Once they get the kinks worked out they’ll optimize what they can to bring to HW3. I’m hoping for 1 more big update and then hopefully they half the subscription/cost of FSD for HW3 since it won’t support unsupervised.

Ok_Priority458 2025-10-07 19:21

But still too often needing a human to intervene...

McChazster 2025-10-07 19:22

Have a look at your government.

neatroxx 2025-10-07 19:23

Very doubtful of that. It's not the fault of the EU FSD didn't launch yet – it's Tesla's choice to not yet adapt FSD to the rules

MMortein 2025-10-07 19:23

How much than a human should it be?

kfmaster 2025-10-07 19:25

I am all for deregulation.

Ok_Priority458 2025-10-07 19:25

Well Elon did call it full self driving....not failed student driving......

kfmaster 2025-10-07 19:27

The abundance of rules indicates suffering from big government syndrome.

MMortein 2025-10-07 19:28

So if it can pass a 30 min driving test it's good enough?

shenfever 2025-10-07 19:31

If you’re American and saying this l o l

eugay 2025-10-07 19:43

if the unece rules say you cant turn the wheel fast on L2, then that's that. No FSD. Aside from that, sometimes governments enact regulations which have a chilling effect on companies willingness to engage. So you the customer are left without a product.

NerdyGuy117 2025-10-07 19:45

We will upgrade cars based on the AI HW :D

[deleted] 2025-10-07 19:53

Could be a good gamble to buy a cheap older version if finally they do upgrade to hw4/5 !

dbv2 2025-10-07 19:53

Totally agree. If Tesla does not figure out something, I will stop subscribing to FSD on my HW3 Model S. They need to figure it out or will lose a revenue stream.

Plus_Plastic_791 2025-10-07 20:02

Why haven’t you tried to get refunded under consumer guarantee act yet? Even if it does launch paying $160/month is cheaper

EVMad 2025-10-07 20:05

I only paid $6000 for FSD which is about half what it costs now and I should also get the hardware upgrade necessary. What I paid is what navigate on autopilot would cost now anyway so I'm not really missing out so I'm just going to play the waiting game. Tesla did call me offering a switch and carrying FSD to the new car but I really don't see any features on the new models that I desperately need.

kfmaster 2025-10-07 20:13

Look at what happened to the EU in AI industry due to ridiculous overregulation, not just FSD. I am not going to laugh if I were a European.

Plus_Plastic_791 2025-10-07 20:13

EAP was also over priced, and they’ve actually removed the upgrade to that now anyway.  If you get a refund do $6000 that’s work over 3 years @ 160/pm. I wouldn’t hold my breath for the hardware upgrade

tbadyl 2025-10-07 20:16

I get your sentiment but have a fully opposite opinion. I am totally fine with letting others beta test it until it is ready and universally reliable. Big proponent of safety regulations here

EVMad 2025-10-07 20:18

Each to their own, I wouldn't downgrade from EAP to Autopilot because I would seriously miss the features that comes with so a refund at this point wouldn't make sense. I'm interested to see what HW3 can do with FSD, they just need to build the model. I don't need the money now but if it becomes clear they won't do the hardware upgrade then I'll reconsider and probably jump ship entirely from Tesla to something else.

lungben81 2025-10-07 20:29

It is a good thing that autopilots are only allowed if they are proven to be safe.

specter491 2025-10-07 20:35

Is cybertruck getting any of these updates?

McChazster 2025-10-07 20:43

Too bad many people haven't been so qualified.

Short-Service1248 2025-10-07 20:48

Does Tesla offer to upgrade the cameras and or processor ?

ObeseSnake 2025-10-07 20:49

Yes. Soon.

soapinmouth 2025-10-07 20:55

Do we know if it's even all hw4? Seen some showing this has started using the bumper camera.

soapinmouth 2025-10-07 20:55

So is this version working on those without the bumper cam?

[deleted] 2025-10-07 21:10

Rollertoaster7 2025-10-07 21:11

Yup https://x.com/aelluswamy/status/1975558811932107028?s=46&t=ZIqLVMN0nyoMPz73t-5sIw

specter491 2025-10-07 21:46

Finally

unpluggedcord 2025-10-07 21:48

im on HW4 and have not received 14

unpluggedcord 2025-10-07 21:48

I dont see it yet

NiceWeather4Leather 2025-10-07 21:52

Lol Tesla slowly boiling all these HW3 frogs

NiceWeather4Leather 2025-10-07 21:53

Icing that people paid real money for…

[deleted] 2025-10-08 00:29

To me it says that he doesn’t have confidence in the product.

tdiggity 2025-10-08 00:51

Rollout phases: Employees, influencers, then commoners. Currently at influencer rollout stage.

Rumbletastic 2025-10-08 01:13

Honestly, I don't think so. I'm on hw3 but I got a loaner on hw4 recently and it was darn near perfect.

popornrm 2025-10-08 06:02

If you bought it fsd outright then eventually you’ll get upgrades. If you didn’t, then no, you didn’t pay money for it

popornrm 2025-10-08 06:02

Fsd drives better than most humans, sorry, try again

NiceWeather4Leather 2025-10-08 06:33

The average car ownership time is under 6 years… so how long is it acceptable to pay for a product capability and not get it for you? It’s clear Tesla are just hoping everyone sells or trades in the cars and they never have to deliver what they originally sold by playing out the clock.

Illustrious-Pay-4464 2025-10-08 10:37

It can. You just have to downgrade to autopilot instead of FSD in the settings

Karlchen 2025-10-08 11:02

There is no ruleset which FSD can be adapted to, that‘s the entire issue. The regulation has been in work for years, and the regulators themselves don‘t even plan for it to be ready before 2027.

Present-Ad-9598 2025-10-08 11:06

I upgraded my hw2.5 to hw3 for $1k at a service center, not sure what exactly was upgraded tho

Present-Ad-9598 2025-10-08 11:07

Well that’s not true, you can still buy 2018 model 3s from inventory

Money-Coyote3100 2025-10-08 12:13

WHAT ABOUT EUROPE?!

Short-Service1248 2025-10-08 12:44

Any idea what HW is on a 2022 MY with a Ryzen processor ? Are the benefits only if you have FSD?

Present-Ad-9598 2025-10-08 13:36

To my understanding hw4 didn’t release until late 2023/early 2024, you should be able to check in the settings, same place you’d see what infotainment chip you’re running (AMD Ryzen in your case). I upgraded because I couldn’t even get FSD, the main HW difference from 3 to 4 is better cameras with a red tint (to block light occlusions), and I believe a faster FSD computer

Ok_Cake1283 2025-10-08 13:58

What about excessive regulations slowing innovation and your economy.

elchurnerista 2025-10-08 14:13

like in the entire Federal Branch side January? 😂

Big-Dudu-77 2025-10-08 14:18

It’s one reason I could never get myself to pay 8k for FSD. It’s great tech, I use it a lot, but AI moves so fast that the hardware will get old quickly.

omnibossk 2025-10-08 14:38

At least we don’t have HW3 regrets. Also Grok is missing. The EU is afraid it spies on us

Money-Coyote3100 2025-10-08 15:06

Wait a minute.. a burgerboy is complaining about our economy? lmao

popornrm 2025-10-08 17:22

Do you cry about your fhd tv not being updated to 4k? It’s older tech. Tesla already does far more for older tech than pretty much anyone else.

snark42 2025-10-08 18:58

Vision is still terrible, at least at speeds above 70 mph.

gentlecrab 2025-10-08 19:59

You can buy a used 2018 M3 from Tesla. It just won’t come with FSD even if the original owner bought FSD for it. If you want to use FSD you have to subscribe to the monthly FSD package.

tbadyl 2025-10-09 00:01

>Also Grok is missing Another win in my book 🤣

creathir 2025-10-09 11:32

On HW4 and did not get v13. Development takes time. I’m certain HW3 won’t be left behind, especially if you bought FSD outright.

Chiltrix_installer 2025-10-09 19:28

Zero love for HW3 😐

CzarcasticX 2025-10-09 21:59

I paid $5k for FSD back in 2017. Since I upgrade cars every 3-4 years, I don't think it's worth it to drop $8k on FSD anymore. $99 a month is much better in that scenario.

szzzn 2025-10-10 02:37

Just left the bullshit early access program because it doesn’t work. Never got anything early. Super annoying.

aerodynamix 2025-10-10 07:57

No

Far_Big6080 2025-10-10 10:43

We had zero deaths caused by the autopilot/fsd in Europe. I take safety over fast innovation every day

Far_Big6080 2025-10-10 10:48

That's true for the average driver. I doubt that it will drive better than someone who doesn't drink and drive, doesn't speed and rests regularly. I'm all for getting humans off the driver seat but Tesla still has a lot of work to do

Far_Big6080 2025-10-10 10:49

Just one more year (said every year since 201X)

Far_Big6080 2025-10-10 10:51

No one promised a 4k Upgrade to my TV 😂 That's a straw man argument!

unpluggedcord 2025-10-10 12:40

I wouldn’t call that out personally. If 99.99% of us don’t have it. That is not rolling out.

unpluggedcord 2025-10-10 12:40

There’s people with 3 day old model 3s

allaboutandroids 2025-10-10 12:45

That hurts even more

popornrm 2025-10-10 14:36

And Tesla didn’t promise lifetime support for hw3. If you purchased it outright, they just recently promised to eventually upgrade you. Should have read the terms and conditions my friend. That’s not an argument, that’s just factual

Far_Big6080 2025-10-10 15:43

They did promise a promising FSD "next year"™ and that you get it "real soon"™ if you buy it outright The HW3 owners aren't angry that HW3 doesn't get it but that they don't get the newest FSD version even though they paid 9k/12k

cibernox 2025-10-10 19:12

Isn't FSD transferrable to a new car?

CzarcasticX 2025-10-10 19:53

Only when they have the promotion for it.

popornrm 2025-10-11 00:00

Nope, they didn’t promise it. Only promised if you buy it that you’ll get it eventually. Should have read the terms and conditions before signing.

Matsweeper 2025-10-11 00:53

That’s amazing. Quick question for everyone, is the new FSD v14 available on ryzen chip teslas? I think I have HW3

Equivalent_Owl_5644 2025-10-11 04:01

We’re increasing version numbers instead of going backwards like you’d expect…

Equivalent_Owl_5644 2025-10-11 04:02

Are you gonna let me touch the screen without bothering me or not.

gre-0021 2025-10-11 16:24

And you would be correct, humans haven’t solved driving by themselves. I mean do you look the news at all lol

IncreaseEfficient332 2025-10-11 17:02

I remember when I paid full price for the promise of such software…

FunnyProcedure8522 2025-10-11 18:20

You meant like Waymo? No Tesla won’t do that. https://www.reddit.com/r/waymo/s/eYlBjVzmVi

popornrm 2025-10-11 19:18

My point exactly. So if we’re okay with humans driving around then we shouldn’t be crying about fsd having edge cases.

Ok_Priority458 2025-10-11 19:30

https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaFSD/comments/1mpii6y/fsd_ran_a_red_light/ https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaFSD/comments/1l62yn4/tesla_fsd_1328_running_red_light/ https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaFSD/comments/1nc7lqm/whats_up_with_fsd_and_running_red_light/ https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaFSD/comments/1nrahn9/fsd_tried_to_dangerously_run_a_red_light_into/ https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaFSD/comments/1ms5mq9/fsd_pulls_out_on_red_light_into_intersection/

popornrm 2025-10-11 20:10

How many drivers run reds on a daily basis?

Ok_Priority458 2025-10-11 20:23

I still use autopilot daily and i would probably not buy any car without it but blindly trusting fsd because the name implies it can fully drive itself is tricky. Amazing how people defend it when it fails....if there was a fully automated medicine prescription dispenser and you "accidentally" got the wrong meds that could have killed you or some other issue you would probably sue the hell out of them.... Or would you really say no problem...do you know how many people make the same mistake on a daily basis?

AppleBottmBeans 2025-10-12 23:38

Because 99.99% of us aren’t influencers or employees

unpluggedcord 2025-10-12 23:39

Okay cool. Now explain to me how it’s released when 99.99% of us don’t have it.

AppleBottmBeans 2025-10-12 23:41

This isn’t a playstation 2 game. Software gets released and rolls out in waves to make sure mass adoption is successful. No reason to get big mad because safety is more important than adoption.

unpluggedcord 2025-10-12 23:43

Where am I mad? Saying it’s released is wrong. It’s not. I literally work in software and know how rollouts work. This isn’t a rollout. It went out to like 2000 people and stopped. I have no idea what you’re defending. Please explain to me how 99.99 % of us dont have it and it’s also simultaneously released.

tdiggity 2025-10-13 01:40

You’re not wrong. But that technically counts as released for Tesla. Even when robotaxi was “released”, it went out to a very very small group on the “release” day.

ulmersapiens 2025-10-14 04:39

HW4 has inputs for both a RADAR and a bumper camera. My vehicle did not come with either one, and there will probably not be a retrofit. That said, if I can get level 3 on the highway, it would meet my highest expectations from when I purchased the car.

shawn_bowen 2025-10-14 11:12

My FSD was 12k HW3

pastanate 2025-10-16 04:37
