I've already sat in my car for like 1.5 hours at super chargers, and another 4 hours dead on the side of the road (totally my fault) and I've only had my EV for like 2 months lol
Not for some who live in a condo.
This is my favorite part.
But they will say you have to stop for "hours" when you travel. The reality is you will stop for only slightly longer than you normally would for taking pee/soda/food breaks on your trips.

Not sure what you mean? I get the running out of battery, but the spending 1.5 hours at a super charger in 2 months isn't really a typical, is it?
I use Superchargers like 10 times per year, usually 15-20min per stop. And most of the time stopped isn't sitting in the car, it's going to use the bathroom, get a snack, etc.
Not sure how you're doing that. When road tripping you're only supposed to charge from 5-10% to about 80% (or however long your car says you have left to continue to your destination).
This is what most ICE owners don’t get.
How long do you think it takes to charge? I just looked at my last 2 charging sessions and one was 34 min for 72 kwh and the other was 28 minutes for 69 kwh. I forget my exact ranges but that probably was going from 5-10% to 80% (it may not have even been that much, tbh) So I'm at 3 charges to hit an hour and a half, so how is that not typical?
So you're close to the exact number in the Tesla tweet here in terms of time spent charging vs. filling up.
The tweet says 3.9hr/yr pumping gas. My personal estimate is around 3hr/yr Supercharging. But pumping gas requires you to stand by the car. Charging doesn’t. I spend very little time each year sitting in the car waiting for it to charge. The majority of that charging time I’m out of the car doing something I spend time doing anyway after I finished pumping gas.
Pumping gas doesn't require you to stand by the car (at least not where I live, New York) where all the pumps have a mechanism to keep it going manually. Look, I love EVs (of course, or else I wouldn't be in this sub), but the idea that (for those who don't charge at home) it doesn't actually take longer to charge vs. pump is bonkers to me.
I didn't put much value in not having to deal with gas stations, but now a few years into charging at home, I love not having to do that!

My point was that for me Supercharging is an occasional thing. Spending hours each month sitting in your car waiting for it to charge isn’t the common case.
It's not typical because most people don't drive more than ~100 miles from home multiple times per month. For those people charging at home covers all of their routine charging needs. Some people certainly travel long distances more frequently, but I wouldn't describe it as typical. On road trips the fastest way to charge is usually to hit about 60% and move on to the next charger, that's usually what Tesla's navigation recommends.
I’m seeing 20% of all charging isn’t at home, that doesn’t seem that atypical then
80% of charging being at home sure sounds like that's the typical case. I definitely don't recommend EVs to anyone without home charging or some equivalent (chargers at work, curbside chargers in your neighborhood, etc.)
How do you figure? I'd say I do 80% of my charging at home too? How aren't I typical?
How many miles per month/year do you drive? Almost an hour a month at Superchargers only being 20% of your charging sounds like a lot of charging to me.
