I don’t know if this is a hot take, but people whining that this is anti-environmentalist should really take a step back. I watched so many friends of mine that were actively stewards of the environment get tossed aside by DOGE. And honestly, electric vehicles aren’t the band aid for climate change that we all want them to be. They’re more like a pacifier for people who aren’t comfortable making more personal lifestyle changes… Tesla doesn’t even necessarily have super great sustainability practices as an EV company… Their cars are built like disposable vapes, not buy-it-for-life investments. They greenwashed their brand image to milk the Libs and once Musk changed who he wanted to be his friends, he had zero qualms gutting public sector sustainability investment. Not encouraging this behavior by any means, but I don’t think anybody is getting any slam dunks in right now. Tesla is not the pro-enviro company some of you want it to be. A few years back I had the exact same optimism for Tesla.
