[There's also discounts on the remaining Legacy Model Y inventory](https://driveteslacanada.ca/news/tesla-increases-legacy-model-y-inventory-discounts-over-11k-in-canada-and-up-to-7k-in-the-u-s/)

YouBetterChill 2025-03-04 11:41

Would pull the trigger if they offered anything but grey on the $7500 tax credit. (I don’t wanna spend another $8k on fsd) Edit. Specifically talking about performance model.

27nav 2025-03-04 11:59

Yeah i hate that the only color available is grey when trying to get the tax credit. Not a bad color but would like more options

[deleted] 2025-03-04 12:09

[deleted]

[deleted] 2025-03-04 12:09

I don’t mind just paying for a wrap for a different color. Not paying $8k for something I already have though.

woalk 2025-03-04 12:10

Turn signal stalk is the much more important one.

Majestic-Bison67 2025-03-04 12:13

Where?

MJC136 2025-03-04 12:23

Yes but the wrap costs $7500

craigrn16 2025-03-04 12:25

They are really trying to move these cars again

[deleted] 2025-03-04 12:31

It's a sign that sales have dropped, nothing more.

wasthespyingendless 2025-03-04 12:43

They cut their market in half and chose the half that prefers big trucks.

brandinimo 2025-03-04 12:46

Wish they would ever include Model S.

Salty_Leather42 2025-03-04 13:04

Hopefully FSD and FUS transfer are next promotions to be announced

vwite 2025-03-04 13:14

If only the Performance in red qualified for the $7.5k tax credit lol

nevetsyad 2025-03-04 13:33

They stopped producing the Model Y for two months. It was 67% of their sales. They’re pushing whatever they have on hand.

ArtificialSugar 2025-03-04 13:35

Vinyl wrap should cost $2-3K

THATS_LEGIT_BRO 2025-03-04 13:36

No one wants to buy the outgoing design. They had to stop production of them.

Da_Spooky_Ghost 2025-03-04 13:48

Then you have to pay $3k every 5 years to keep getting it re-wrapped

wasthespyingendless 2025-03-04 13:51

Good to know, probably all of these things are true now.

grifterloc 2025-03-04 13:52

I need this for the model X please

Snoo93079 2025-03-04 14:05

The sign is they need to drop prices to move product.

Q_N1NJA 2025-03-04 14:43

It does when you add FSD.

vwite 2025-03-04 14:53

hmmm I may need to test drive it cus it's pretty bad in my area with my 2022 HW3 M3P

4paul 2025-03-04 15:02

🙄 Every time Tesla does anything good (discount, free feature, new design, etc), there's always the group that goes "oh, they really trying to move cars, they desperate, they must be failing, no one wants a Tesla anymore", etc

[deleted] 2025-03-04 15:11

Have to put $4k down for the 0% APR.

trevvork 2025-03-04 15:14

My brother just picked up his car yesterday, does he have any options to be able to get this 0% APR deal?

donechain 2025-03-04 15:17

It says 15% down for 0% APR and then there is $0 down for .99% 60 months

CAVU1331 2025-03-04 15:17

And how does that explain 0.0% for a model 3?

niknokseyer 2025-03-04 15:17

I doubt. No harm in trying though.

nevetsyad 2025-03-04 15:17

Right, not because no one wants them, because they need to re-tool the production lines. Hilarious to see every "reporter" globally say the boycott is working, sales are dead. Uh, yeah, they stopped producing the world's top selling car, of course numbers will drop drastically. I'm sure the media will report China month over month doubling sales now that they're selling the Model Y there again...right? /s

nevetsyad 2025-03-04 15:19

Sedans have already been dying, CUVs are what's in demand now. See: Model Y, top selling car in the world. But if they want their numbers to look as good as possible for the quarter, with their top selling vehicle no longer being produced, they need to push whatever vehicles they're able to still produce, right? Hence, pulling out the stops to sell every 3 they can.

mcot2222 2025-03-04 15:38

Ok but how do you explain the Model 3 drop then. In Australia they went from selling 3500 units last Feb to 600 this Feb.

askingaquestion33 2025-03-04 15:44

Just want fsd transfer

nevetsyad 2025-03-04 15:48

You'll notice Model 3 sales were strong for all of 2024 in Australia. Suddenly in January, they die. RWD Model 3 and other lower end models were the best option for a cheap, quality EV. BYD, with their heavily PRC subsidized cars, launched a campaign in the country to take over the low end market. The BYD Dolphin Essential became available for nearly half the cost of a Model 3, starting in, you guessed it, January. Sales are insane. BYD is going to take over mid/low end car sales globally, just like they did to the solar panel industry years ago.

mcot2222 2025-03-04 16:00

I can attest to someone in NZ as well buying two BYD recently.

THATS_LEGIT_BRO 2025-03-04 16:17

I would likely buy a BYD if it was half the cost of a Tesla. I love my Tesla, but I love keeping more money in my savings.

lolpopulism 2025-03-04 16:23

If demand was high they wouldn't be discounting. Not sure how that is controversial.

lolpopulism 2025-03-04 16:23

They forgot that model exists unfortunately.

brandinimo 2025-03-04 16:24

It’s a real shame given it’s the best looking model they have by a country mile.

Throwaway09562020 2025-03-04 16:33

Can you explain why the other colours don’t qualify for the tax credit?

YouBetterChill 2025-03-04 16:52

The vehicle has to be less than $55k to qualify for $7500 credit. Any color besides grey puts the model 3 performance over the threshold.

mikedeezy22 2025-03-04 17:09

Absolutely love my S. It really is their best looking model.

nevetsyad 2025-03-04 17:19

Yup! Friend in NZ says they're covered in BYDs now. American auto is cooked, the public just doesn't know it yet.

nevetsyad 2025-03-04 17:23

I don't know. I've owned cheaper EVs, and expensive electric motorcycles. The charger/trip integration with Tesla just isn't replicated with anyone else yet. I love traveling around the USA too much, but I'm over juggling 8 apps and planning each segment of my trip, making sure I can make it to the next charger, and it likely works. Now, integrate good route planning and charger status into navigation and sell any other car to me for 20-25K, uh, yeah, I'm there.

1960vegan 2025-03-04 17:27

Bring back the FSD transfer - that would definitely motivate me (and likely others).

frankievdb 2025-03-04 19:22

Will this come to Europe in the nearby future you think?

jonnybravo76 2025-03-04 19:24

I'm not certain of this but didn't they stop the Model Y in order to start making the new Model Y? They still have stock of the old Y in inventory that they're heavily discounting.

Nxgdx 2025-03-04 19:35

That's the goal, isn't it? To sell… cars?!

VideoGameJumanji 2025-03-04 20:10

It wont happen, there stock is going to tank from the model 3 costing as much as 14k CAD more in canada. No one is buying these new, even at 0% APR. Id 100% be looking at the used market if i didn’t already have a Y

VideoGameJumanji 2025-03-04 20:11

Not really given the model 3 price went up like 10k usd in canada

VideoGameJumanji 2025-03-04 20:11

They do have unlimited supercharging on the S and X

oasiscat 2025-03-04 20:17

Just short of making them actually affordable for non-tech bros. Bring their prices down to about $25k and I predict most people will forget all about politics for the chance to drive an electric car.

Nakatomi2010 2025-03-04 21:09

Tesla tends to dust off the 0% APR at the beginning of the year. Seems to cycle with 0% APR, then FSD Transfer, then Unlimited Supercharging on higher trim models, then 0% APR again, rinse and repeat the sales. When you zoom out and look at the incentives, they all cost the same, they're just skinning it differently.

Nakatomi2010 2025-03-04 21:11

The Model 3 is manufactured in Shanghai and in Fremont. In Fremont the Model 3 shares the same assembly line as the Y, well I think there's a couple dedicated lines, but they're shared otherwise. I think it's the same in Shanghai. So when the factory retools for the Y, Model 3 production goes down as a result. Same thing with the Model S/X, they both share the same production line, so when one gets refreshed, they both stop being made for a bit.

Nakatomi2010 2025-03-04 21:14

It's the end of the quarter, they always throw incentive in. They're just playing mind games. When they introduced the 0% APR on the 3, they discontinued the higher referral benefit, and the referral benefit ends up balancing things out to the same anyways.

Nakatomi2010 2025-03-04 21:15

Model S/X normally get unlimited supercharging perks when they want to move those.

bartturner 2025-03-04 22:32

Suspect we will see a lot of this to try to juice sales.

N8Howell33 2025-03-04 22:39

willing to bet this happens within a week or less

Iamawarethatimrare 2025-03-05 01:53

They need to lower the price, tons of inventory Ys going for less than a 3.

DMC_Ryan 2025-03-05 04:51

They raised the prices by $5k at the same time though.

Perdix_Icarus 2025-03-05 04:51

tabascocheerios 2025-03-05 05:02

Buying a made in Canada Toyota Rav 4

a215throwaway 2025-03-05 08:37

Would stacking referral and military discount offset the $55k cap, allowing $7500 credit and color choice?

TreeLooksFamiliar22 2025-03-05 16:28

An electric car, maybe.  Just not  this brand of electric car.

VideoGameJumanji 2025-03-05 20:03

I cant imagine someone who can afford an S or X is penny pinching over $5k

DryGear9640 2025-03-05 21:45

Why is it when you add fsd it qualifies?

Q_N1NJA 2025-03-05 21:59

Color options become free

DryGear9640 2025-03-05 22:01

Oh I was going to pull the trigger on it anyways. This means that FSD is essentially discounted for $7500 then

Tdme_99 2025-03-06 23:05

I literally just got my title for my 2022 Elantra limited. Have about 15k in equity at trade in and MAN that 0% APR IS SO TEMPTING

whomikejonson 2025-03-07 03:27

Desperate cancelled both of my orders and got my refund 😂

DigressiveUser 2025-03-07 14:34

Hasn't FSD transfer been a one-off thing? Though I suspect they will offer it to FSD buyers on too old HW when they officially release FSD to ease on the hassle of handling these upgrades.

DigressiveUser 2025-03-07 14:35

I'd rather have the model 3 than Y. Shrinking isn't dying.

Nakatomi2010 2025-03-07 14:38

They've offered the FSD transfer promotion twice, so far. I expect them to keep dusting it off since Elon said the HW3 retrofits would be costly. It's in their best interest to try and get people off of HW3.

nevetsyad 2025-03-07 16:43

Good time to buy one now then. My neighbor is about to. I’m ready to swap out my Cybertruck for it. Just too big of a target for hate in the truck with my family. Sedan can go under the radar.

CarrotOld6179 2025-03-07 18:12

I would never consider buying a Tesla anymore. Damage to the brand is so done ✅ good luck 🍀 And for those who do, be sure to have a good insurance that cover your car at good price🤣🔥🧯

GrandeIcedAmericano 2025-03-07 19:23

If I could have a do-over, I'd get a Y instead of my 3. That said I've had it for 7 years now (!) so I didn't have the choice back then. There are days I just wish I had a bigger vehicle.

Deathmeter1 2025-03-07 20:19

Then anyone that can afford one doesn't need the lifetime supercharging because their electric bill there's nothing to them

VideoGameJumanji 2025-03-08 00:02

Yep you’ve almost worked it out yourself. They are luring people who are just outside the target demographic into buying it. These are high end luxury vehicles, anyone. Complaining about the price or incentives are not the target demographic.

kazaaksDog 2025-03-08 04:48

Brilliant!

nerdpox 2025-03-08 16:15

yeahhhhh they wouldn't need to do this unless the cars weren't moving as well as they wanted. and this is the VERY appealing refresh. if the past is any indication, Juniper will be zero wait within 1-2 months from start of delivery, so the potential customers for Model 3 are not likely those holding out for Model Y. not saying they're _not_ selling, but no company is going to willingly offer 0 percent apr, almost literally free money, when the fed rate is 4.5. unless they need to

ZHobbs20 2025-03-09 04:01

Same with my ‘19 Camry, about 13k in equity. Really debating!

Tdme_99 2025-03-09 04:14

Me too man me too. Tesla offered me 16,100 for my car. Assuming they indeed like what they see out of mine. However, I'm honestly considering going the used route. I found a 2023 model 3 with under 9k miles for like 27k. So, i'd only have to finance like 12k after fees and taxes.

ZHobbs20 2025-03-09 04:18

What APR are you able to get?

Electronic-Serve-558 2025-03-09 05:19

I’d say go for it, I traded in my 21 Santa Fe hybrid

Tdme_99 2025-03-09 05:24

How accurate was your trade offer to what they actually offered you?

Electronic-Serve-558 2025-03-09 06:34

18k my mileage was 76k. Tbh I haven’t got the car yet but I think I might not gonna do it. I saw a bunch of videos and posts about people attacking Tesla. Kinda worried ngl

Electronic-Serve-558 2025-03-09 06:35

I guess I’m losing my 250$ ordering fee

Tdme_99 2025-03-09 06:43

Huh?

Tdme_99 2025-03-09 06:44

People attacking Tesla? Huh

QuestGiver 2025-03-09 12:21

Sales are way down they are going to run insane incentives later this year in the US.

[deleted] 2025-03-09 13:31

Waiting for them to reimplement FSD transfer

QuestGiver 2025-03-09 13:50

Yeah I'm hoping for a 0% apr on the model y refresh and maybe a sale on fsd.

YourTypicalDegen 2025-03-09 21:28

Will these low sales really result in some insane model y juniper deals in the future? I’m ready to get a Tesla but want a good deal on the juniper (unless they add a front cam to the model 3)

Adventurous_Bath3999 2025-03-10 03:01

Exactly! On my hybrid Camry, at the most I would use no more than 300 gallons of gas per year, which costs about 1200 dollars. This so called savings on EVs is so over hyped. Not taking into account the hassle of having to charge it is just another headache! Who needs that!

IKillZombies4Cash 2025-03-10 17:28

The fact DOGE guy is leveraging Federal Rebates to sell cars to whats left of his biggest market (who also voted for Drill baby Drill, and climate denial), is certainly something. This company is in deep, and only compounds when Carbon Credits begin to suffer

youcalledfirst 2025-03-10 18:03

Literally selling mine this week. This company has gone bat ship crazy over these last two years.

Terrible_Patience935 2025-03-10 18:47

just wait! Soon they will pay people for driving them. Insurance is too high and a lot of people see Tesla cars as a reflection of the car owners political views - i.e the desire to ruin the us government, economy and world security at any cost Happy times

Zealousideal_View185 2025-03-10 18:51

How do I get the promotion that started on 3rd the date of my delivery for new m3

Separate-Duck-7732 2025-03-11 03:45

Why would anyone buy a Tesla?

vwite 2025-03-11 12:16

They're good cars

[deleted] 2025-03-11 20:53

I wonder why 😂

[deleted] 2025-03-12 04:09

Pile of shit on wheels.

OwnSpell 2025-03-12 13:05

Is the newer hardware that much better or are you still better off buying a 2020-2021 with 50k miles for around $20k with the used tax credit?

ChefBlock 2025-03-14 20:57

Objectively, yes they are. But as of now, if you buy a new car from Tesla, you are putting money into the pockets of a man who is actively ruining the US with his actions and rhetoric

bigker19 2025-03-15 15:36

MeCagoEnTodoLoMalo 2025-04-26 07:29

how so?

MeCagoEnTodoLoMalo 2025-04-26 18:43

Going to the gas station is a bigger hassle.

Adventurous_Bath3999 2025-04-27 01:47

Really?? Gas stations are always on my way, wherever I go. No hassle for me.

MeCagoEnTodoLoMalo 2025-04-27 05:29

My home is on my way, every day. I charge at home and avoid crime infested gas stations. For the occasions where far away car traveling is necessary, a regular car would do for convenience, otherwise, in the real world of most people, electric beats gas every day in every way.

MeCagoEnTodoLoMalo 2025-04-27 11:11

That's why they can afford it.

MeCagoEnTodoLoMalo 2025-04-27 12:55
