Also installing here on my 2018 Model 3 (HW3)

VideoGameJumanji 2024-09-16 22:56

Checking on my 22 LR-MY in Canada Edit 1: nothing on the app, will check again via the car in a moment Edit 2: checked yesterday and today on the car, still nothing there and nothing on the app, seems to be a pretty scattered rollout

nwroads13 2024-09-16 22:58

Checked.. nothing yet.

UnderstandingNo5785 2024-09-16 22:59

All 3 of my 2020, 2022 and 2023 model 3’s haven’t received yet. September 16th.

jnads 2024-09-16 23:06

I got 12.5.1.5 on my 2019 Model 3 HW3 a week ago. Didn't get the latest update yet. I was one of the few HW3 owners to get it before it got pulled. I forgot to post.

j_ona 2024-09-16 23:07

I’ve always wondered this. If no update is available on the app, is there any reason to check in the car? I would imagine it wouldn’t be available in the car either.

ackermann 2024-09-16 23:08

Your 2018 is HW3? My late 2021 is also HW3. Damn, I must’ve just barely missed the cutoff for HW4! Although, I got my order in right before a bunch of big price increases, so that was nice.

jnads 2024-09-16 23:10

HW4 was introduced in 2023. You might be thinking Intel/Ryzen.

Falconpunchjr 2024-09-16 23:11

Hw4 nothing :(

VideoGameJumanji 2024-09-16 23:12

I have no idea honestly but in my personal experience I've had the app show nothing and have gone in the car, checked the software tab and seen something pop up. Not sure why people are down voting that comment

Marathon2021 2024-09-16 23:13

2018's usually came with 2.5 I think, but if you had purchased EAP and said you wanted to subscribe to FSD sometimes they'd upgrade you for free. That's what happened to me.

DaveTN 2024-09-16 23:20

No joy. 2020 LR with atom HW3.

BlueRacer90 2024-09-16 23:22

2021 Model Y nothing yet with manual check in car 😭

trevkat 2024-09-16 23:25

Exact year/model for me as well. Feel like I’m never going to get an update.

Wugz 2024-09-16 23:30

Usually Tesla pushes updates to small batches of cars at first, and this wakes the car and (if on wifi) begins the download. The app only notifies you when the update is staged for install, and if you weren't in the initial rollout batch, checking from the car does nothing except postpone your next update check by 24 hours. Sometimes when an update has been sufficiently tested it is made available to all remaining cars, but this doesn't always wake every car and begin the download (likely for server load balancing reasons). In this case you can go to the Software page of the car and trigger an update check which will begin the download immediately. They have the ability to select a subset of cars for each rollout (Hardware, location, etc), and based on the public deployment stats by TeslaFi, some updates have been initially targeted (only MY, only HW4, only California, for example) before rolling wide. Aside from a few specific groups like "influencers" that were OG FSD beta testers, the general public gets selected seemingly at random. I've been in the first batch of public rollouts a few times; other times I'm in the last group.

CandyFromABaby91 2024-09-16 23:34

2022 with HW3 too

ac9116 2024-09-16 23:35

Nope, HW4 started rolling out on Model Y in June/July 2023. I bought in May so I’m very aware

j_ona 2024-09-16 23:37

Very much appreciate your detailed response. Thank you!

Ray2K14 2024-09-16 23:44

No love for our ‘21 M3 either

SpaceAilen 2024-09-16 23:49

We can all go cry in a corner together I guess. 2021 M3 in the same boat as you guys....

cmdr-William-Riker 2024-09-16 23:49

I kinda don't care anymore, 12.3.6 does everything I need and I've heard nothing better about 12.5

EvanVanVan 2024-09-16 23:50

OP stated they had a 2023 HW3 lol... My first thought when I clicked on the thread was damn, they just missed the cut off.  2018s got upgraded to HW3 if we bought FSD.

ccccccaffeine 2024-09-16 23:50

Do you have ASS?

ackermann 2024-09-16 23:51

But 2021’s aren’t expected to be offered a free upgrade to HW4? At least, not in the foreseeable future

cmdr-William-Riker 2024-09-16 23:52

Any good news about it? Is it any better than 12.3.6?

skippy_nyc 2024-09-16 23:53

what version were you in before?

Far_Understanding_42 2024-09-16 23:54

yea but not model 3 that they were talking ab

Fun_Muscle9399 2024-09-16 23:55

HW3 to HW4 upgrade isn’t going to be offered from what I read. 2.5 to 3 was much easier to do. My 2018 M3 was upgraded to HW3 at some point prior to me buying it.

[deleted] 2024-09-16 23:56

[deleted]

Just_Ad5051 2024-09-16 23:57

2021 M3 here as well, in the waiting room!

jnads 2024-09-16 23:57

Not sure I'd say it's better or worse. Still has the same problems where it won't go your set speed. It's maybe a little better at keeping the speed when you press the gas pedal and force it. Only nice thing is the hands-free FSD. But I wear sunglasses so it still makes me use hands.

olso4051 2024-09-16 23:57

I think 12.3.6 was better for HW3, at least that is my impression. I'm in MN with a 2017 model S. Mostly my complaints are the steering wheel is jerky. They have control systems in place to make the car not jerky, they should have the same for the steering wheel at low speeds.

trailmixjustin 2024-09-17 00:00

No because Actually Smart Summon is 2024.27.20 (FSD 12.5.3)

okwellactually 2024-09-17 00:00

Saw this morning on [TeslaFi](https://www.teslafi.com/firmware.php?detail=2024.27.10%2037a122df8) that it appeared to be starting again, but only 4 were on HW3 for the day. Looks like that's changing. More HW3 cars getting it. Looking forward to it.

cloudsofgrey 2024-09-17 00:09

Been stuck on 12.4.3 on my 2023 Model Y for like two months now

trevkat 2024-09-17 00:10

Yeah, I wish there was more communication about this from Tesla 😔 I’d rather them just say it’s not going to happen so I don’t have to check for updates every time I get in my damn car 😂

Wugz 2024-09-17 00:11

Correct, I'd paid for the FSD upgrade and they retrofitted HW3 for free.

Mundane-Tennis2885 2024-09-17 00:17

What version are you on? Same here, but I'm also on 2024.26.8 I think it's 2024.26.10 that gives us 12.5? Or that's what I heard

Dylan552 2024-09-17 00:17

can I get it on HW4?

spennnyy 2024-09-17 00:33

2024 M3P with HW4 still stuck on 12.3.6 here.

LurkerWithAnAccount 2024-09-17 00:38

So…. How is it?

pazdan 2024-09-17 00:39

They let us upgrade for free at the time.

Tesla_RoxboroNC 2024-09-17 00:40

I have a 2020 M3LR and a 2023 M3P. Neither have the new release. 🤔

AZFire480 2024-09-17 00:40

2018 LEMR will never get this huh

[deleted] 2024-09-17 00:40

Teslafi shows this version as 74 installed and 56 pending. So if that's accurate it's not exactly a wide rollout. But still good, any roll out must mean they have confidence in it

number8888 2024-09-17 00:54

HW3 is the minimum for FSD which is why people that bought FSD got the upgrade. Those that didn’t buy it are still stuck with HW2.5. This is the only reason for the upgrade and technically it’s not free since we have to buy FSD.

[deleted] 2024-09-17 01:04

Congrats hope performs well.

daviddunville 2024-09-17 01:05

I don’t understand these version numbers. I’m on 2024.32.3 and it’s not this. I don’t get it.

Ok_Award1877 2024-09-17 01:50

Just got [12.5.2.1](http://12.5.2.1) as well. Drove around town for about an hour tonight. No interventions or disengagements! It did hesitate slightly around a green light once, but nothing drastic. It was also a little late getting over for a left turn, but there were no cars in the way, so it was not an issue. Overall seemed good and a move in the right direction from [12.5.1.5](http://12.5.1.5) (that I upgraded from). Hopefully it wasn't a lucky first drive.

Mundane-Tennis2885 2024-09-17 02:04

Weird, why is it so random haha. Also is there a 2024.26.10? I think 2024.27.5 is the next one above my 2024.26.8 Also had weird glitches today.. Had to do a restart with steering button. Hope it doesn't happen again.. A menu froze on me and later on the map changed from top down to like a side view? Odd..

gltovar 2024-09-17 02:19

good sign for the Atom peeps.

gltovar 2024-09-17 02:20

I mean the lack of steering wheel nag does sound nice.

stylz168 2024-09-17 02:22

Gives me hope, I'm on MYLR with same SW version and HW3.

Ok_Award1877 2024-09-17 02:32

Yep. Just got it tonight as well and took about an hour drive to different places around town. It did very well… no interventions or disengagements… I could get picky about a few little things but nothing very noteworthy, plus it’s gonna take several drives to really form an opinion. I also have a 2023 Model 3 with HW3. Hope you all get it soon!

Cardcleaner 2024-09-17 02:36

Been waiting for a hands free update so long I renamed my car En Vogue.

philupandgo 2024-09-17 02:37

HW4 is more power hungry so cannot easily be retrofitted to an older car. It is reasonable to expect a lower powered version of HW5 that is still a significant upgrade for HW3 cars.

philupandgo 2024-09-17 02:43

Let me put your heart at ease; you're never going to get another FSD update. /s (speaking from rest-of-world)

philupandgo 2024-09-17 02:58

FSD versions do not line up with general software builds. 12.3.6 is still the default FSD on new builds. Testing of new features goes out on special builds in order to limit the roll out. At some point there will be a 12.5.x that is deemed ok to become the next default and will probably be renamed 12.6.x or 13.x

reddittracks_you 2024-09-17 03:00

Agree.  Happy with 12.3.6

ca2mt 2024-09-17 03:37

Some 2018s are getting this update already. You think it’s the end of the road for your car? Lol V12 updates came in quick earlier this year, but I feel like there were long stretches on 11 where I didn’t get any updates on HW3 either. Unfortunately, I was pretty sure when the summer update went wide instead of 12.4, we’d be in for a long wait til the next update.

[deleted] 2024-09-17 03:49

What about the whole aggressive speeding on red lights and turning too close to curb to the point it feels it’ll touch? Any insight on those?

meezun 2024-09-17 04:30

2018 came with HW2, but could be upgraded to HW3.

tangosukka69 2024-09-17 04:38

i have a 2018 and can confirm it comes with 2.5. i have EAP too. at one point they tried selling me FSD for $2k and an upgrade to HW3 but i dont like paying for betas.

ocluxrealtor 2024-09-17 04:54

Isn’t ass out this week as well?

mactwistz 2024-09-17 05:18

VideoGameJumanji 2024-09-17 07:59

Thanks for the explanation, no idea why I got initially down voted for saying I was going to check my car after lol

Errand_Wolfe_ 2024-09-17 13:21

Tesla owners go 4 months without an update to their full self driving vehicle and they start getting ready to put Tesla on blast lol, relax a bit maybe

vwite 2024-09-17 14:06

lmao same, I've been manually checking tapping on settings->software for like 40 or 50 days in a row

DeathChill 2024-09-17 14:13

Is it worth a shot? I bought EAP and wish I could subscribe.

A9domeda 2024-09-17 14:17

Yes, I got it on HW4 M3

Marathon2021 2024-09-17 14:40

If you could get them to *confirm* it would be free prior to rolling into the shop, absolutely. I was rolling the dice a little bit in my case, but it worked out for me.

Dylan552 2024-09-17 15:00

Wonder why I haven’t :(

Kristosh 2024-09-17 15:45

2.5 akshually.. 2.0 was for Model S and X.

UnderstandingNo5785 2024-09-17 17:45

Still following this thread. 3 of my teslas don’t have them today September 17th

aptwo 2024-09-17 18:07

I want ASS so much

andy2na 2024-09-17 18:26

hopefully they fixed the scheduled charging issue a lot were having in 2024.26.20

[deleted] 2024-09-17 18:40

My e 2023 my is HW3 :(

[deleted] 2024-09-17 18:44

I just got 12.5.2.1 on HW3. Shame I don't have time to install it

Auxilae 2024-09-17 19:34

I had 12.3.6 and updated to 12.5.1.5, 2021 M3 Standard Range Plus. A lot smoother of a ride, feels more natural and I could trust it more, but I still don't trust the car completely. It still comes too close to curbs, it still doesn't respect dotted lines during turns, and I had it try to blow past a clear stop sign. It also tried to come to a hard full stop on a pedestrian yield, when there were clearly no pedestrians. The acceleration is still lurky as well. Accelerates too fast (more often) / too slow (less often) than what I would normally do.

REB3opinion 2024-09-17 19:52

Not yet on my 2020 M3. Typical Tesla.

Aud4c1ty 2024-09-17 21:45

HW4 came out in 2023 for Model Y factories in the USA. China and Germany moved to HW4 in 2024.

Thiscantbelegalcanit 2024-09-17 22:31

Just got it on my 22 MXP in Canada

archbish99 2024-09-17 23:40

In theory, the subscription requires you to pay for the hardware upgrade, while the purchased package includes HW3. Whether the latter is still true after the price cuts is a good question, and some people were able to finagle free upgrades with the subscription.

jhgf9999 2024-09-18 00:20

2022 M3 got [12.5.2.1](http://12.5.2.1) update this evening

Errand_Wolfe_ 2024-09-18 01:19

my point is that there is 0 indication it is “dead in the water”

american888 2024-09-18 01:35

Just got on my 2020 model S

VideoGameJumanji 2024-09-18 02:41

I was just in my car and forget to swipe on the software page to check, did you get the notification on your phone or when you checked the software tab?

VideoGameJumanji 2024-09-18 02:43

It hasn't gone wide so I'd chill on that. It seems to only be going wide now, it will definitely ramp up since they seem to have made a deadline for themselves with their posted roadmap to have 12.5+ and ASS out before the robo-taxi event in october.

Warshrimp 2024-09-18 04:54

Expectations before 12.3 were released was that both 12.4 and 12.5 would be significantly better step ups and 12.4 was abandoned and 12.r has been slow to roll out with complaints of regressions from 12.3. Thus far it seems 12.3.6 has been the only stable 12.x version. Hopefully there are improvements for cybercab because it sure isn’t looking great.

VideoGameJumanji 2024-09-18 10:11

Still waiting on it, based on notateslaapp site, the user reported rollout seems still <=1%. I expect it to start ramping up over the week or two.

ZeroWashu 2024-09-18 10:12

Two thousand dollars, a relative "bargain" at the time. Did mine in early 2019 for my August 2018 TM3

Thiscantbelegalcanit 2024-09-18 10:39

Checked it manually in the car - then about 30 minutes minutes later I got the notification

VideoGameJumanji 2024-09-18 11:12

That's crazy, I'll just keep swiping daily. I always get the notification when I least expect it, like when I'm about to actually start driving lmao

ChildishBonVonnegut 2024-09-18 12:40

New vision based attention monitoring is amazing. So glad I don’t need to keep nudging my wheel and sometimes disengaging fsd when doing so

Future-Toast 2024-09-18 13:33

My use of 12.5.1.5 is this: Speed issues are significantly worse to the point it’s embarrassing sometimes flat out illegal. Cars sometimes will flat out refuse to slow down when going from a 55 mph to a 45 mph, then shortly after 35 mph, so I’m going 60 mph in a 35 mph zone. I rarely had speed issues on 12.3.6. Attention monitoring works perfectly, but if you have to squint, you are better off with sunglasses as it will start to warn you. AM gives you a good amount of time to use the screen, in my opinion. 12.5.1.5 has issues with specific turns. Arrival is different as well. Used to I could use the turn signal to prompt my car to go into my driveway, now it pulls off to the opposite side of the road (side my house is on) and stops. If left alone, it eventually launches off and drives to the end of the dead-end road, then pulls into the only area it can while the wheel shaking acting like it’s trying to do a 3-point turn. I’ve noticed a lot of things it does in parking lots where it tries to back into parking spots. 12.5.1.5 also will pull into parking spots on the regular, even if you aren’t fully near your destination yet (for instance, I had to walk fully around a building to get to my destination). 12.5.1.5 has no official updates to the highway, to my knowledge. However, I’ve noticed an increase in merge aggression. Used to it would give the car behind you a good berth before merging, but now it’ll see the opening and take it even if there’s plenty of room ahead and you are going at a faster rate. FSD now merges at EAP speeds, which is amazing (I have a profile for auto steer and one for FSD. Sometimes I prefer EAP on longer road trips since I have to verify I want the lane change). I think reports of 12.5.1.5 running stop signs and/ or traffic lights are far and few between. I drive 1k miles a week, and there has only been one instance FSD tried to run a light. I had disengaged for one reason or another and came to a full stop at a red light. I turned on FSD, and it started to move, so I disengaged. I’m not sure if it would have run or what it was doing, but I could not make it replicate that mistake.

Psychological_Ad4443 2024-09-18 15:36

I have hardware 4 and still have not updated beyond [12.5.1.3](http://12.5.1.3) . Not sure why, perhaps it is due to my only having the car for 30 days.

CarlosF-5604 2024-09-18 17:56

I am still stuck on 2024.15.15 and 12.4.3 on my 2020 Model Y. I am eagerly awaiting a 2024.26+ build to see if I can get rid of this darn dashcam USB not mounting issue.

CarlosF-5604 2024-09-18 17:57

+1. I have a MY with no infrared emitters and have had no issues using hands-free FSD at night on dark highways. I should also add my screen is on auto and dark mode at night.

andy2na 2024-09-18 18:38

its $2000 again if you have EAP. Bought it a couple months ago

GortKlaatu_ 2024-09-18 18:41

>Cars sometimes will flat out refuse to slow down when going from a 55 mph to a 45 mph, then shortly after 35 mph, so I’m going 60 mph in a 35 mph zone. I rarely had speed issues on 12.3.6. I have this issue constantly with 12.3.6 so I'm not happy to see that it hasn't been fixed. The worst part is that the car "knows" it's a speed trap. It even displays the correct speed limit. 12.3.6 would also slow down to the speed limit automatically on the highway in a place near me that a cop always sits. There's no speed limit change in the area... but it's just a well known spot. I always thought that was cool, but flat out ignoring when the speed limit goes lower is going to get me a ticket.

EquivalentPass3851 2024-09-18 18:52

I am model y still waiting on 12.3.6

PotatoWarrior_MP 2024-09-18 19:02

I just got the update and while the no nag is nice, FSD performance is noticeably worse than it was on 12.3.6

BikebutnotBeast 2024-09-18 21:03

22MY just got it.

vwite 2024-09-19 15:33

where do you check if it's going wide?

popornrm 2024-09-19 16:32

Kinda the one shitty thing about even trying to pay to try 12.5.3 after having driven 12.3.6 is that’s there’s zero way to confirm you’re going to get that version and you don’t know when you’ll get it. Could easily pay $100 and not get it for the entire duration of the 30 days I’ve got a 2023 model 3 sr+

Ok-Satisfaction1330 2024-09-19 20:52

Just got mine on a 22 MX with HW3. Loving it so far! I live in a city with the most roundabouts in America and FSD has been hit or miss since V12 (never could handle them before V12) and today for the first time I saw it catch a gap on a double lane figure 8 roundabout that had me clapping 👏🏾 in the car!! 😂We’re soooo close to being unsupervised, and I’ve been using EV Autopilot/FSD beta/Supervised since 2017. I remember telling my 8yr old then that he’d get my ‘17 MS when he turns 16 (next year 🤯👴🏾) but probably wouldn’t need to drive it because FSD would be level 5 by then 🤦🏾‍♂️ This is a hard problem to solve, but one well worth the time and effort. Nice job Tesla and the Autopilot team. Most of us know Elon isn’t the only employee there, and we’re very glad for that. Keep up the good work and hang in there with your boss who gets worse everyday.

jasoncross00 2024-09-19 21:43

Checking in that this pushed out today to my AI3 2021 Model Y.

VideoGameJumanji 2024-09-20 10:02

No where in particular, you can notice pretty easily by volume of people commenting on "I just installed version x.x.x" posts like this one. The notateslaapp website is all voluntary user submitted install numbers, if it's at 1% that means they are just testing the waters, when you see it jump to 20%+, that usually means it is going wide. The updates go out in waves, which are smaller and less frequent initially for massive updates like this one. Version 12.5 is arguably version just version 13 given how much of a fundamental change it is.

trevkat 2024-09-20 10:48

EggotheKilljoy 2024-09-20 12:48

HW4 came with Highland for Model 3, I think it came for S/X sometime in 2023 if I recall

agathorn 2024-09-20 13:07

2022 MY still waiting as well

agathorn 2024-09-20 13:08

Same version with my 2022 Model Y Performance.

Got this last night on my 2018 M3 (HW3). The steering wheel still jerks back and forth on left turns on a T intersection.

reefine 2024-09-20 15:56

Just got it on my 2016 Model S =)

mchinsky 2024-09-20 17:38

If you don't currently subscribe to FSD, it doesn't show the version under software. I do I know when my vehicle gets this version as I want to subscribe after it's available.

hamtonp 2024-09-20 19:48

Took the car out for the first drive. I didn't notice any regression at all. The behavior is a step up. It drives so smooth and not having to worry about holding onto the steering wheel made me forget I was driving for a brief moment. This release is making FSD fun again.

I am struggling with 12.5.2.1 — it feels Like a major step backward to me. One major issue seems fixed — hugging to the inside of a right bearing curve but a lot of other issues — jerky ride, much more timid —especially on unprotected left, always 3-5 miles per hour below the speed limit regardless of setting (auto or manual set), phantom turn signals are back in some situations. Longing to go back to 12.3.6

JumpingJack9 2024-09-21 02:36

It has been a massive step backwards for me.

NoPineapple9429 2024-09-21 04:10

Bought it for a month. On HW3. Very disappointing on city driving. It was better a few months ago.

hamtonp 2024-09-21 05:54

I'm surprised by the bad experience some people are experiencing. Drove my daughter around most of the day. At the end of the day I asked her how it performed. Her response: "What! It was driving the whole time?" Things I noticed that improved so far: * Smoother acceleration from a complete stop * Turns are performed faster and smoother  * Stop sign is a single stop, creep then go * Faster at U turns I still need press the go pedal to force the car to go faster most of the time but it seems to hold slightly over the speed limit (2-4 mph) 2018 3 LRRWD w/ FSA for over 6 years

hamtonp 2024-09-21 06:08

The aggressive speeding from a red light is much smoothed out now. Feels much more comfortable. The turns feel different now. It still gets closer to the curve than how I would drive but not bad enough to take over.

hoang51 2024-09-21 07:35

It is nice. I'm on FSD 12.4.3 and the attention monitoring via cabin camera is much more convenient to allow hands free rides for a longer amount of time. Sucky part is that this FSD version doesn't contain the sunglasses nag free detection, so every so often sunny day, I have to use my hands to provide the attention FSD needs.

hoang51 2024-09-21 07:36

I've had FSD 12.3.6 and now currently on FSD 12.4.3. FSD 12.4.3 is smoother.

hoang51 2024-09-21 07:38

Because they're still testing for fixes. If FSD 12.5.x can't go wide as quickly as 12.3.6, that's a good indication that they're trying to fix something that's broken.

hoang51 2024-09-21 07:41

It looks like it's picking up cars being rolled out to heading into this weekend. I hope I can finally get the FSD [12.5.2.1](http://12.5.2.1) update to give it a try. 12.4.3 is good, hoping it won't be a big step backwards if I go up to 12.5.2.1. A lot of critisim about 12.5 is probably why the release isn't rolling out as fast as previous FSD releases...

hoang51 2024-09-21 07:47

FSD 13 is already on [October's FSD roadmap](https://www.reddit.com/r/teslamotors/comments/1f9fqzv/official_tesla_fsd_roadmap/). We already know [FSD 12.5.3 has ASS](https://www.reddit.com/r/teslamotors/comments/1f7sf7y/tesla_release_20242720_with_fsd_v1253_and_actual/), and we have yet to see E2E Highway stack, among other features, so perhaps FSD 12.5.4+. Maybe FSD 12.6.x to wrap everything up before FSD 13.

SnooDogs7747 2024-09-21 13:47

Model 3 got HW4 in 2024. Model Y got it in 2023.

CoffeeInSpace23 2024-09-21 14:01

Consider yourself mega lucky. Based on TeslaFi only 2% of cars received 12.4.3 most still stuck on 12.3.6 and 12.5.2.1 does not seem to be going wide last I checked a few days ago. I kinda regret buying my car with FSD. Pretty fucking useless

Superb_Leg786 2024-09-22 03:00

I’m glad I found this post because I was trying to figure out if you could subscribe for FSD on a 2023

flat5 2024-09-22 06:38

Be glad. It was better.

flat5 2024-09-22 06:45

I think it is worse. The acceleration/braking smoothness is noticeably worse. "How did they ship this" worse. Constantly tapping accelerator and brakes, very uncomfortable ride. It slams on brakes at crosswalks when there's no one in them or even approaching. It has had me "take over immediately" several times for unclear reasons, possibly bright sun on some cameras. Completely missed getting in the correct lane twice in the first couple days of use. Slows down for unclear reasons. Does not speed up to set point, inappropriately sticks to low speed limits. Back to being hesitant about pulling out at intersections. To the point of it being dangerous that you could be rear ended when it starts to go but then hesitates. The only improvement is it may be a bit less apt to hit curbs on right hand turns. I fear that HW3 owners may be shit out of luck from here on out.

flat5 2024-09-22 06:47

Notably worse.

flat5 2024-09-22 06:53

Agree on all points, and will add far more unsteady/jerky fore and aft, like a driver on their first day of using regen. Also ask now getting "take over immediately" for unclear reasons.

EdSpace2000 2024-09-22 13:37

Did they fix the speed management issue?

JumpingJack9 2024-09-23 16:43

My experience has been far from good, in fact, it appears to be a major step backward from 12.3.6, at least the curve/curb hugging on the inside is better but that is about it.

hoang51 2024-09-23 17:11

I'm just getting this finally (moving up from 2024.15.15/FSD 12.4.3), only to see that [FSD 12.5.4](https://www.reddit.com/r/teslamotors/comments/1fnj6gl/fsd_1254_support_for_fsd_with_sunglasses/) is starting its release wave... Just take me to 2024.27.25 already... :D

timestudies4meandu 2024-09-24 01:54

Ashokually?

hoang51 2024-09-24 17:00

My initial experience with this: Does not drive smooth like FSD 12.4.3. I can see why Tesla slowly rolled out FSD 12.5.x now. My first use at night in lite rain, I can feel FSD is not constant with its speed, but rather constant jittery of slight speed ups and slow downs. During day time, I find it annoying that it wants to change lanes about 1 mile before I need to make a turn. It did it twice in a row. As for maintaining speed, yeah, still sucks. It drives way too cautious and I need to tap the go pedal just like with FSD 12.4.3. I do have to say the auto windshield wipers react better in lite rain than before (northern VA), although my experience is that instead of at "off", it would be at "II" speed when it could do "I" speed. Well, at least it turns on better now. If it's lite mist, it'll remain off and won't even wipe, which is the norm.

I felt the same way until I pulled the trigger on it a few months back. Worth every penny. You can pay for full self driving hardware upgrade. At least that’s the way it was for me in the app. It was 1200+ labor. Came out to 1450 for me. I had EAP too, I just paid for the upgrade and I pay the subscription for $100 a month. It’s $100 instead of $200 with eap.

tangosukka69 2024-09-26 04:17

tried it on my 2023 MX. was not impressed for the price point.

Complete_Resource_22 2024-09-26 04:20

Auto park alone is worth the upgrade. IMO. And the lane changes feel smoother. And red light and stop sign control. It’s a software gets better with every update. Worth it. Put it on the credit card 🤣 We will never get our $ back out of our model 3s 2018s anyway.
