Tesla service after warranty

My model S went out of warranty last November. Before that Ive had a couple of issues with the handles auto presenting not working on one of the passenger doors. Now the issue has reoccured again, same door same handle. Looks like they did not put a permanent fix when it was in warranty. Right now since it’s out of warranty, there is a $1300 estimate and I want to get to the dealership and fight with them on a warranty recurring issue. How are these dealt with from Tesla? Curious if anyone has had an issue with something like this.

I’ve seen posts where if they document that you were having a problem while it was in warranty, they may fix it at no cost. Again speak with a service technician when you drop it off and mention this.

Yeah. If it’s documented they should be able to honor that prior to the warranty expiring.
