Used Tesla model 3 local dealership opinion?

I’m completely new to Teslas and EVs in general and trying to learn before buying one. I’m looking at used Tesla Model 3s, but the ones listed directly on Tesla’s website are a bit higher than what I’m hoping to spend. Because of that, I’ve been looking at some from regular dealerships instead. I’ve heard Tesla has a pretty strict inspection process when they take cars back to resell, and that some cars that don’t meet their standards end up at dealerships. I’m not sure if that’s actually true though. For people who have bought used Teslas: • Is it generally safe to buy from a dealership instead of Tesla? • What should I check or watch out for when buying one used? • Are there certain model years that are better value or more reliable?

I was thinking the same thing a few weeks ago... In the cases I looked at direct from Tesla seemed to be priced competitive to 3rd party dealers. For me I went direct from Tesla pre-owned. The pros were no dealer junk fees, no aggressive upsell/haggle, Tesla inspection, extra 1 year 10000 warranty, battery life rating. Everything is handled in the app.
