Why so old? Try 2022 or later. Price difference can’t be that huge

Budget please! Not just for the car but what you’re willing to pay for insurance and maintenance (it’s very little but there will be some). Also whether you have access to home charging, plan to use FSD, etc.

It's about a $5k difference and we're trying to be as budget conscious as possible

Plan to charge at home (will have to get a charger + install), don't care about FSD. I know there will be maintenance and insurance, etc., just really trying to find out from people who might know the cars well if going back as far as 2018 might potentially be an issue long term for any reasons.

Battery warranty will be up this year on a 2018. That could run you $15,000. If you’re budget conscious I’d take the $5,000 hit and have the warranty at least for 4-5 years. Or go with a car where the battery isn’t the same cost as the car itself

I recently bought one. 2018 with 66k miles. This is my first Tesla and I’m blown away. I’d reccomend for sure. Even in the coldest climate my heater didn’t suck that much power out of the batteries. My battery is at about 85%-87%. It’s an awesome car.

There’s such things as used batteries, swapping out modules and etc. I wouldn’t worry too much about it failing if you look at stats. Something like 90% of teslas 10yrs and older still have original battery and that’s older battery tech.
